    Dealerships in general are in a pickle. And then Dodge Dealerships are just plain fucked. They have two options at this point....
    1. They have massive price cuts. 2. Keep prices where they're at and go out of business.
    It's that simple. You cannot have astronomical prices + astronomical interest rates. Pick one or the other, you can't have both. Dodge is trying their darndest though, to have their cake and eat it too.

    This is why you ask the dealer to see the buy rate AND always have a pre-approval from a credit union.

    Damn how many people are these dealerships paying to stay up all night figuring out how to screw the customers?? They have to do that at night cause it's so screwed up. Thanks for the heads up. Yes you did tell us many times this was coming.

    I saw the game too buying my scatpack. The dealerships especially Dodge make their money on Financing. They sell you a fully loaded scatpack at 55k then finance the car at 12% - 21% now our normal 600$ - 700$ mo is $950 - $1000. The lenders are giving the stealerships kickbacks. 😬

    I had a 2019 Durango with low low mileage. I sold it and got into a 2021 brand new GT lease. My lease is up in Sept at $660 a month, not bad. I contacted the bank, and I was told that if I decided to finance the same truck, it would start at a minimum of 6 percent interest rate. I'm given the option to extend the lease for an additional six months. I wanted a scat, but the way things are going, I might jump ship and join bmw .

    I found out from the bank I financed my car through, if the dealer gets the finance for you they can and intrest points onto the loan because they acted as Agents for the finance company. This way even if you buy the car they are still getting paid while you make your payments. Go to the bank first. Set up your own finance. Hopefully you get a better rate.

    That "buy this and that, and we can lower your rate" is as old as the hills. We had that on a 95 Villager that we bought below invoice. They dropped the interest rate if we bought the extended warranty and fabric/ paint protection for like $1,200. It absolutely worked out for us as it needed a new $4k transmission at 80k and I only had to wax that thing with their "poly" stuff once a year. 😂 There is no way im having a payment of more than like $600 a month!

  • @geraldscott4302
    @geraldscott4302 28 дней назад +5

    I don't mind buying used cars, I've only bought one new car in my life. But I want a car that has been driven. About 8 months ago I bought a like new 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis, from the original owners, an older couple, which came with a stack of service receipts. It only had 36,000 miles on it. I'm a mechanic. I gave it a thorough going over. I put it on the rack and checked the bottom. The tires were new. No leaks, no rust (AZ car) The only thing it needed were windshield wipers. Paint and interior were in beautiful condition. I paid $10,000 cash. No tax, no fees. These cars last. I have 384,000 miles on an '06 model.
    I am not interested in any late model car. I will not own or drive a car that is loaded with spy devices and driver interference systems. That's why I bought the '07 Mercury. It doesn't have any of that garbage. As for FUN cars, I have a couple of those. They are over 50 years old. They are carbureted. They have manual transmissions. And they ARE appreciating in value. One of them is a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, the other one is a 1967 Mustang GT.

    Thanks for the info TK. So basically people need to know about Buy Rate vs Sell Rate regarding the interest on the loan. Also, people definitely need to know tied selling is ILLEGAL. Dealers absolutely are in the wrong when they tell you that buying a product can affect the interest rate on a car loan. Banks don’t give 2 shits what you buy. They just wanna make sure you can actually pay off the loan.

    Here is to handle the loan APR. Ask the F&I guy if the rate is the "buy" or "sell" rate on the interest rate. Make him show you the actual approval APR from the bank and agree to nothing higher. Protect yourself. If you have to exceed the 72-month term, you are on too much car. Just saying'.

    Dodge screwed up and over produced especially scat packs.if anything should have held some back and sold them as classics as a 24 model.some of these cars will be three years old and still on lots.every now and then you will see a dealer with 1 vehicle that for whatever reason is 2 years old and still is in inventory but some around here have 50 plus challanger and chargers still in stock.i can't afford a scatpack and I'm not buying an r/t that will run the same time as my13 f150 ecoboost with a tune.loving my 23 hemi ram though.

    I don't know where people are getting these magical interest rates from or these low as hell payments, but I can guarantee you, anyone with a low monthly note put some scratch down. unless you're dropping straight cash on these things, you're gonna pay for it, and somebody's gonna make a few bucks off of you.
