This comic is better written than 99% of Hollywood’s best movies in this modern era
It's an industry of life-long starry eyed devotees who grew up on comics, aspired to create them, and achieved that goal for a future audience. That love incentivizes the creative process. Scaling that love to potential millions creates a market, which pays for this process.
Quietly ignoring everything after aliens and opening up this massive and rich treasure trove of story content is the best decision anyone has ever made with this canon.
True I don't take anything after aliens as cannon. The comics an audiobooks are cannon too me
If I’m not mistaken, it was published before anything after Aliens happened. It’s a shame they didn’t take the movies in this direction. Earth Wars would make a great trilogy and River of Pain would make a great Disney+ show
I know this is cannon and I love it as much as you do... But once I hit the episode where they introduce the predator I sighed and cringed because of the movies... But I have to remember the only reasons why we have those isnt cause of the comics

I find it strange that throughout the extended franchise the people who are actually responsible for bringing the Xenomorphs into human-inhabited areas are never held responsible. Sure, Burke got what was coming to him but Weyland-Yutani is apparently never questioned by the authorities about the deaths of the Nostromo crew or the Hadley’s Hope colonists. I imagine after something like that there would be a lot of angry families on Earth demanding that justice be served.

my primary theorem is that weyland-yutani as a conglomerate superstructure is easily big enough to override any scrutinization or reputational damage they might incur, sorta like a too big to fail type schematic were they have there hand in every facet of earth culture at this point in time that they can easily gerrymander or settle any cost that might come there way as a business. which really isnt all that far from how alot of megacorporations already have shown to function irl
It'd be interesting if they were able to make the Earth War into like a Netflix series or something.
Every season would need the same amount of money as a movie. THE CGI would not be cheap as well as lots of xenomorph suits. No CGI.

I read all the actual books, sadly they should of ran with this other than the Alien3 and continued garbage. Imagine reading this story ARC then given Alien 3, 4, Prometheus and Covenant....

You narrate these perfectly! I love how you express the nightmare and finality of encountering the Xenomorph. The hopelessness and dispare of Ripley, Newt and Hicks are all captured in your voice. Well done!

For me the canon is Alien to Aliens. After that, Ripley went home, took care of Jonesy, formed a relationship with Hicks and raised Newt as her own daughter. Every other iteration of the Xenomorph that has ever shown up, through comics or movies, is essentially the real world manifestation of Weyland-Yutani trying to reap as much finance as they can from the alien. Almost always with disastrous results.
Ripley also repaired her robo buddy Bishop and together they would troll tough guy marines with Bishops knife trick every Friday.
Newt and hicks died when the eve crash landed on Furina

Same here, dude. For me the rag tag survivors of Aliens made it back to Eath safety. Fuck Alien 3 and Resurrection and those 2 AVP films.
What about Ripley's swan dive? Her clone hybrid baby? Or what about Ripley saying "Who do I have to F*** to get off this ship?". Then Clay says " I can get you off.... Maybe not this ship"

That said, is there any mention of why androids weren't used more for defense? I mean, you could make tons of them with simple combat-focused AI and send them off to do battle (and if you're *_really_* paranoid, introduce remote kill devices in their bodies). Best part is that they can't be used by the xenomorphs. Automated defenses like sentry gun turrets as well...

Yeah plus being totally defended from humanities greatest threat by non humans kinda defeats the survival theory doesn't it?
I mean think about it, it's only got to ways it can go. An AI that stays the same then the bugs adapt to defeat them or an evolving AI that becomes a greater threat to us.

Any AI that would view humanity as a threat or otherwise a target for extinction would also view xenomorphs in the same way and would try to exterminate both as potential threats. And we see how well automated defenses in the Aliens world work (and you have nothing to fear from automated sentry guns any more than you have to fear the autopilot on an airliner). I don't see the threat from AI, because it's already being used in-universe...

Instead of spending so many resources Mass producing Androids that are human like, they should have been making them more like the Terminator, Xmorphs would have a little harder time ripping in half a Droid covered in two inch thick steel plates and Vulcan machine guns for arms...

I luv Scott’s/the others too, movies, and they’re more interesting and original than the comics vision. However, Scott’s vision is too deep and intelligent for the general audience.

Hicks should have lived in the movies tho; that was pure garbage-,Hicks (biehn) would have done the WHOLE movie too, they already paid him an entire movies salary just for his dead body on the morgues table.

God dammit, how are the humans in this series so incredibly stupid. The aliens need living organisms to reproduce, they can create androids, it shouldn’t be that hard to put two and two together.

Beancounters probably thought it was too expensive. By the time they realized their mistake, it would have been too late.
They do this in AvP2 I believe. They use androids to explore and document the hive. Before the incident.

More like plot armor. I get the use of strike teams trying to keep everything hush-hush, but once you have a planetary quarantine
and martial law allowing summary executions, it shouldn't have been too hard to mass-produce synthetic soldiers in factories
manned by synthetics with small heavily armed, cadres of humans providing some oversight.

Man, I love this channel. These videos are so well put together. And you have a perfect voice for narration. Seriously, somebody needs to hire this man to do voice work for your company. Just wanted to say I love your channel. I have been an aliens fanatic since I was shown it when I was 3 years old by my father on the first vhs release (the only one which had the remote sentry guns in it prior to the directors cut, and everyone telling me that scene didnt exist).
Voice is so perfect for this, I’m not even into the Alien franchise much but I like relaxing and listening to these videos.
This is the best series you've ever posted on RUclips, the comics are way better than any of the movies could ever have dreamed of being. I'm surprised they haven't made movies based on these accounts and stories, it would be so epic to see such a story made into a tv series or a series of movie's and well maybe interweave them into the current lore and canon of the alien franchise, here's to hoping i guess. I was shocked, and very disappointed, watching Prometheus the first time and finding out the Space Jockey was just a suit...and it wasn't a Space Jockey at all, but an Engineer. Me still sad about it. Love the channel!

Yeah but the problem i see with that is in the original alien movie our space jockey was a titan in comparison to the puny engineers in prometheus.
@@mazzolaro1 Why is that a problem. The bald, pallid men in Prometheus were CG. It would have been little more effort to tie them to the original design. It was lazy, just like the writing and directing were lazy and shoddy.
