- General Spears' Xenomorph specimens were en route to his base via the cargo vessel USCSS The American. The specimens were in stasis, along with their hosts, though cyrosleep had not completely arrested the embryo gestation process of the aliens.

Hicks is probably my favorite character. He deserved a lot more than he got in Alien 3.
I can’t thank you enough for these videos. I live on less than $800 a month in disability and food stamps, so I can’t afford to buy comic books, but I’m a huge fan of the Alien series.
So thank you for making these videos about the Earth War, as they are the only way I can experience them.

I grew up with all these comics, lost them all in a house fire, slowly forgot them over the years.
This was an amazing re-experience! I forgot so much of the story and seeing it like this was great. Newt's character arc is so well done. WHY hollywood dropped the ball on this gem I will never know.
One hurdle to Newt was the actress did not want to be famous. It seems she was pushed into acting by her parents when she was much younger, but as she grew older she realized she just wanted a normal life, which she now has. I guess they could have just recasted the part to another actress, but instead they seemed to just dump the character altogether.
I used to have this comic, and other Aliens Earth War issues from '89-'90. Dark Horse Alien-themed comics were a wonderful discovery for me as a 10 year old in 1990. Bloody, swearing galore, dark and serious, and xenomorphs. Nothing cooler out there. Loved that stuff.
And he narrates the comics so well it’s a joy to watch as I love these comics also.

I'm not normally a big fan of comics, but I love this series.
Me too. But that may be changing. I am intrigued by how the story unfolds in comic format. The relatively rough drawings somehow are more powerful than super-polished digital movies. Your imagination fills in the gaps almost like reading a book. Best of both worlds?
Holy fuck I havent been so on edge from an Alien piece until I watched this! This combined the horror from the first film with the anxiousness of the second perfectly and your narration of it was just perfect!

Mark Verheiden & Den Beauvais absolutely nailed it on this series, I almost can't believe it's over 30 years old. I remember reading them as a kid.
And the later novelisations (which most of the narrative here is taken from) did a good job on fleshing out the details and worldbuilding.
This series makes a better story than some of the Alien movies. Really really good story here. I'd argue some of the best. This channel has reignited my interest in the Alien universe.
that's my favorite part of the comic, i noticed that the scene when they open the airlock to kick the xenos is similar to the scene in alien covenant

you do a really good impression of hicks in these videos and you've got the way he talks in the film including his timing on when he speeds up and slows down on words really well. Im not sure if its what you were going for but its really good.

Blood for Face The series came out before Alien 3. The third movie totally ruined the comics storyline.
Can chestbursters burst out of someone in hyper sleep? I’ve always been on the fence about that. It would be interesting to see how the events of the nostromo would of played out if they decided to freeze Kane.
Trusty Milkshake if the ships crew damaged something when they were removing stuff to make space that caused a system reboot it could very possible I guess...
It'd probably just delay the inevitable. If the bodies of the infected were kept as close to freezing as possible, I would image it delayed them hatching.
It would depend on the time frame and 'age' of the embryo upon the host entering hyper-sleep.
Short term it would likely delay the 'emergence until the host awoke'. During a long term sleep period, it might be possible for a chestbuster to hatch from the host as the hybernation effect would have less effect on the fast evolving xeno. Interesting question.
@@MechWarrior894 only delay, once it’s in you there’s no way of surgical removal without death occurring. Maybe if you catch it super early but as it gestates it grows tissues around the organs so if you pull out the embryo you’ll end up pulling out the organs as well.
Even Aliens are subject to the laws of physics. The Aliens grow from cells and materials from the human host material. If the human host is taking to near freezing the Alien would be slowed down as well. So as was stated it would just delay the inevitable!

It perfectly encapsulates the Sci fi horror vibes. Great pace and gorgeous art work. I long to see a high tension space walk scene in an Alien film one day.

I like your commentary and voice over for these comics. I don't read comics. I haven't since I was like 8, but your voice over has me greatly intrigued to what happens in this crazy narrative.
Also, in this one. I like how Newt is a dirty blonde, like her normal hair correction is. In the previous vids she was like a brunette for some reason. Anyways, awesome content.

Oh man I just watched all the episodes on the playlist tonight, and I was so immersed by your story telling. After this last episode I just went straight online and bought Aliens Omnibus vol. 1&2 😊 (the old releases).
I like this part a lot. It has the prefect mix of Alien and Aliens with interesting charters.

Well apparently everyone in this universe is so fascinated with these aliens that some like that general guy even get boners over them so they keep on and I mean KEEP! aiding them
They’re remarkably adaptable. As he said in a previous videos, they managed to thrive in places where a rat would have trouble living.

Can I put in a bid for retelling of the original 1990 Aliens vs. Predator Dark Horse series...not to be pushy or anything? I would think that property would have been a great door for 20th Century Fox to step through in the early 2000's, and worth the licensing or acquisition, as it would have opened up a lot of existing material (comics and novels) to be investigated on the silver screen in a more lasting way. I think had Fox gotten the rights to the stories, it would not have needed anything, and should not have tried to add anything at all, to be a great crossover. But, hey, I am also wacky enough to have thought some producers would have followed the TSCC precedent, and produced an elevator pitch for an Aliens or Predator TV/web series on FX, Amazon, Hulu, or Netflix with just enough softish gore for thrills and more compelling and enthralling story-telling that would have been useful at keeping the IP alive between movie installments.
I love the channel, and I can't wait for more of the Earth War story arc all the way to the end! Thanks for doing what you do, here!

Great reading and the image direction was good too. I chuckled at the line referencing an "...E ticket ride..." Newt and Hicks knew the ticketing operation of the early 20th century theme parks, lol. Good series overall.
