Fan of Sammy since 1983. His voice was always like another instrument just like Robert Plant was for the Zeppelin. Look at Sammy now, still cranking it out at age 75. So glad he never smoked cigs.
Well I'm glad he never smoked cigarettes to. He should thank his wallet for that and he should be proud of his self. He ain't got to worry about smoking cigarettes because he never smoked cigarettes and since he never smoked cigarettes he ain't got to worry about smoking cigarettes lol so since he ain't never smoked cigarettes he shouldn't worry about ever smoking cigarettes because smoking cigarettes is a bad habit

He damn sure is. I like them both,, But Sam has made a more profound impact on my life with the songs he sang. I don't know who owns them but. They were magnificent. And Dave's were in his time. But those don't grab me like Sam's does. I'm real surprise at how the brothers treated these two greats right here. I'm glad they went own regardless of sound now. Cause it's changed for them.
@@stevemandl5140 I think the music vanhalen made with Roth was better, But sammy is a way better singer. By far. Dave was the entertainer, Sammy was the singer
I think Eddie borrowed inspiration from this song to do Spanked on the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album in 1991, it has a very similar beat and chord progression. I think it's so cool that Eddie did bass on this whole album Sammy was forced to do--in ten days, to boot. You can hear him go crazy on it in the intro and later in the song. Also, who else thinks the music video is just plain AWESOME!?
The real question is do you think Sammy really cares? 11 albums before joining VH (8 solo) and 9 or 10 since leaving VH....... What has DLR done outside of VH? and what has VH done since? Sammy is the man.
Yeah but you have to consider whether or not David and the other members of VH even need to do more. They all rich. It's most likely that Sammy wants to do more, unlike the other members
Sammy is a really talented, and very nice, sincere guy. He was giving an interview at a station I worked at. I walked in, and he gave me his seat, saying "Ladies always sit" and continued the interview standing.
A great song Sammy Hagar has a powerful beautiful voice that touches everyone's heart around the world great song writer great guitar player Sammy Hagar greatest solo CD I Never Say Goodbye. Sammy Hagar really sings from the heart. Sammy Hagar has one of the greatest voice in hard rock music. I love you Sammy Hagar, Miss you Eddie Van Halen RIP 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️😥🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🌹
1977, opening act, then Eddie Money (RIP), then Boston. Pontiac Silverdome (when it still existed). One of the best concerts I have ever seen. And Sammie was the best “opening act” ever! ROCK CANDY!
Yes sir, Sammy and Eddie Money was best of friends. They both enjoy in having a good times. Would have love to hang out with them two . Just like they're music was all about to enjoy life .
Yeah, it was part of the deal between Warner Bros. and Geffen that Sammy can join Van Halen and Warner Bros., on the condition of releasing one more solo album for Geffen.
Where is Dave now? What has he done since VH? What band picked him up? Does he have his own band? What has he written? How many albums has he done? Tours? Is he performing solo? How many awards? I don't recall him showing up at the Rock n Roll Induction in 2007, oh yeah, that's bc he knew his singing couldn't even come close to Sammy's and he would be embarrassed.
There is no way Sammy is a harder rocker then roth. Sammy is a way better singer, but Vanhalen had way more attitude with roth. Sammy made Vanhalen very soft. Compare running with the devil, Panama, hot for teacher, and drop dead legs to any Vanhagar stuff and it blows it away.
DLR is a cheeseball.period. Sammy rocks and baby there's only one way! You can argue who is better, etc. but the proof is in the work done. The whole package - that's Sammy! Rock on!
Yes the video is "cheesy" now but it was a contractural agreement that Sammy had to fulfill for David Geffen to be released so he could focus on VH. Notice he had Eddie and the others on the vid and Eddie plays bass on this record. Happier times for Sammy and Eddie too.
Cool guitar Sammy’s playing, but I don’t know what brand it is or has he ever used it in concert?? Awesome tune......I think it’s his best and never get tired of listening to it. 🇺🇸⚡️🤘🎸
My favourite Sammy Hagar tune.....have the LP which I purchased in 1987 and still play. But 'Hands & Knees' is a stormin' song and play it on my phone continually. Great song, singer/guitarist and good times!!!
Dave pretty much went into the toilet as a solo artist after the Skyscraper album in '88 & faded away. Each solo album he released was worse then the previous one. A Little Ain't Enough in '91 was the last time he had any kind of sales success as a solo artist & Davey boy was later reduced to playing free ribfests until Sam pulled his ass out of the dumps w the Sam & Dave tour in 02. Lounge Act Lee Roth quickly learned the hard way that he needed VH more then they needed him.
Yeah…but can Sammy save a life? DLR can! Ha ha. Imagine needing a paramedic, your on your way OUT, open your eyes and it’s goddamn DLR staring at you. (Waaay worse if he was eating a glazed donut too.)
@1972Russianwolf Ha! Very good point. Even Gary Cherone did more outside of Van Halen with Extreme than David Lee Roth did. I think the reason David Lee Roth might've been the most compatible with Van Halen was because he needed them the most to be successful. To Hagar and Cherone, Van Halen was just a phase, but when Roth left Van Halen he became a forgotten nobody, pretty much. Fortunately, he realized that and has since returned to perform again with Van Halen and a "slightly" smaller ego.
Eddie and Alex in the video: on point as far as how they might have spent a typical day at home, and very much how they would respond to Sammy's request for a jam session. Mikey: there's NO way Mikey was a pushover for anyone, but I doubt that Mikey would have lied just to get out of a jam session with the Red Rocker. The two guys genuinely liked each other (still do), and became good friends very quickly after Sammy joined Van Halen, Mikey's one of the kindest souls on the planet...and yeah, he did the lines JUST for the video. Mikey would likely have been just as honest as the brothers in a response to Sammy. Great song, and great video.
My thoughts exactly. It stinks when someone you "look up to" says things like that, especially when their from your favorite band. I guess he enjoyed not having to bother with it though, since he (Eddie) did the bass on this album.
