@@markjack9772 watching a stream is, for me, about vicariously revisiting a favorite game through an entertaining personality. That first time experience is spoiled if a cavalcade of voices spew a game guide verbatim and/or give tips that are part of the game experience to learn on your own.
Love seeing someone play celeste for the first time, but the pain when they don't find the hidden paths is real.
Why do they need to find the hidden paths on their first run through? It’s fine. In fact, some people just ignore the hidden paths and only continue the story

PointCrow, can I just say as a viewer (vod frog rep) how glad I am that you took that short break. You seemed to be getting very tired and jaded beforehand, which is to be clear totally understandable, and by comparison you seem to be in such a good mood now :) It's really nice. It's not a huge deal, but I was kind of annoyed to see the mods delete every message in chat saying there was more dialogue. Like bruh, can you really consider that backseating?
@@Trogloglation They just want him to have his own experience without being told where everything is. I'd be pretty mad if someone told me where every secret was in a game where I feel like I could find a bunch myself.

Celeste music slaps
I played Celeste because of this video, and then I paused the video and played every chapter until I beat it. After I beat a chapter, though, I went back and laughed and Pointcrow (and then cried cause he was better). 10/10 experience, get Celeste if you haven’t already
I fundamentally agree with dancing while playing celeste, the soundtrack is great.
My favorite game right here. BUY IT ON EVERY PLATFORM. Devs deserve it.

Celeste was recently updated to 1.4 on switch as well, which changes it to exok and maddy I think

You're improving really well. My jaw dropped at that unintended spike jump and getting a few strawberries in ways I didn't think were possible. You made some rooms look way easier than I thought they were.
When pcrow does the "no help" rant for the 3 millionth time instead of just talking to Theo again
Pretty sure the problem is that, although every message probably said "theo has more dialogue" the mods for some ungodly reason decided that was a spoiler, so he didnt KNOW he could talk to theo again.

I somehow never knew you could talk to theo in that area to the right just above the elevator shaft. It's incredible how you can just miss out on bits of dialogue and still have a fantastic experience with the game. Just goes to show it's not the dialogue that's important, it's the message that is conveyed through it and the gameplay that is.

Edit: aaaaand every time they use the glowy effect to say "progression is over here" he says "oh there's a secret over there" and misses a lot of side paths. Makes me glad I'm not watching live because you know I would backseat the hell out of him.
To be fair, there's one time where the glow is for a secret instead of the story (1A, right before the cassette room) but yeah, oh well

@@Nat_the_Chicken he got to the area but didn't see the lights. Also, similar stuff in chapter 3 (he gets the key that any% skips via demodash and the lights are RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM and he doesn't go there, that was sooooooo funny)

Easily my go to favorite relax and improve game. I did everything but the B and C side Golden berries those are insane. Also the Farewell Golden is such a flex, maybe in a few years I will sit down and do the practice necessary for it, but yeah that would eat my life for several months.

its pretty common for people to learn supers on their own pretty early by accident. the problem is extending it, because a super on its own isnt nearly as useful

@@ChaosTheory419 Best way to improve any% time is to reduce your number of deaths. Chapter 3 also has a number of long rooms (especially at the end of the chapter) that can take a *long* time to redo if you die.
How many deaths do you get in Ch3?

59:17 -accidental spike jump for the win!- future me here to correct myself, that is NOT actually a spike jump, but rather something called _Coyote Time._ Basically you have a handful of frames (6) after falling off a platform where you can still jump. Neat mechanic, huh?

I haven't really watched PointCrow before, mainly because I don't really watch any BOTW content, but I really liked his vibe in this stream. Considering Hollow Knight, Celeste, and Outer Wilds are my 3 favourite games of all time, he's just got one left to tick off his list

@@irodragon7184 right, I am as bad as a person who is generally not great at video games would be, which makes it a decent comparison point. Accomplished gamers have probably already played it.
The summit, hands-down: 3646. I got 1 strawberry there.
The next was the resort: 1306. 2 strawberries.
The rest were well under 1000. Obviously I haven't done core or farewell since I haven't done b-sides. But I felt like I had gotten what I needed to get from the game. I beat the game genuinely without guides and that was all I wanted to prove to me--a person raised in a house that didn't believe in video games.

I thought I was doing horrible one the resort chapter with 600 deaths(that one fucking strawberry). I would like to say that now you have beaten it your skills are probably alot better.
My death count on my first playthrough was roughly 5000 with about 40-50 strawberries and I always thought I did horribly... Kinda comforting to know I'm not the worst player in existence.

I’d say it’s easier
I find it harder
I feel like Celeste is easier to improve at consistently, hollow knight takes much more practice for that for it’s harder challenges (eg pantheons)
