Ahhh, the emotion when you walk into a B side room and see it covered in spikes and literally not know what to do. Then you see a tiny amount or non-spiked wall and as Pointcrow said "That's absurd." Haha, laughs in C side. (Yes. C side) -sincerely Uel

See, after a bit of a break from Celeste, I came back, and I have since just known how to do every room with minimal solving. Idk what happened? I still had to pause and think a few times when I did the B sides and C sides but it wasn't too bad. The thing is though, they all looked possible to me, I could definitely see the route and I knew there was leniency to some degree. Even 7C3 with its tight movement has leniency. So I started a bit of modded, I learned a fair amount of GM tech, and I also went and looked at some expert levels. GM levels is when it just becomes incomprehensible, don't even mention GM+ 1-3. So I decided I was putting off yellow and red expert levels, and every difficulty above, until I do 202 berries and get a solid sub 1 hour any%.
@xomvoid_akaluchiru_987 you've done gm? That's crazy. I stopped playing around expert. That experi3nce sounds true. Like, chapter 1 very hard first time, now doing later things, even 7C3 seems easy. -sincerely Uel
@@samuellees3534 I learned the tech from the GM gym in Strawberry Jam Collab, but I haven't done any GM levels themselves. Like I said, even after learning the tech, the levels themselves are still incomprehensible to me XD
I've gotten a fair way into some expert levels but haven't put any time in recently.

my favourite bit of symbolism in the game is in the 5th chapter before you find theo in the crystal, everything is much more hazy and dark, but talking to him clears up the screen. i interpret this as how irl talking to people about your problems can really help

Is it just me, or is 80% of pointcrow's deaths because he refuses to climb walls when the solution involves doing that? If there's no wall climbing in the puzzle, he'll get it ridiculously quickly, otherwise he'll spend like five minutes failing before figuring it out, lol.
I have a habit of always holding the climb button because I always forget to climb if I don’t
The other 20% are when he's reading chat instead of looking at the game, but still pressing buttons. Every single death in that room to get the b-side tape was because he wasn't paying any attention to the game anymore.
He drives me nuts because he never pruned himself of the reaction to immediately jump off walls instead of climbing

Chapter 5 is by far my favorite. The aesthetic is wonderful, the story, the exploration, etc. It's amazing

He goes off on so many tangents, and his brain shuts off every time he does. This entire stream he was just way too easily distracted from the game
There's kind of a huge difference between playing this on a controller vs on a keyboard. I prefer keyboard personally because it vastly reduces dash direction mis-inputs (I'm very comfortable with arrow-key platforming) but I won't deny it makes the feathers significantly more difficult to navigate with. Eric's having zero trouble with the feathers because he's used to pulling off difficult/precise tricks with an analog stick, but he does seem to dash in the wrong direction a lot more than I do. I guess the happy medium would be a GameCube controller with those notches like Smash players like to use, but if you've never used one of those they take some getting used to as well...
I think a GameCube controller would work wonders. I played the game 100% on switch (no golden) and 7C fucked me up because of the series of accurate dashes that are so easy to fuck up with a joystick.
I play on Switch, and usually if a section has really intense/specific repeated dash inputs I'll swap to the d-pad, but I'm an analog stick baby and it feels weird to use at any other time lol
Everyone talks about how bad the joystick is, but once I started using it, d-pad became not an option for constant movement. The only times I had issues and switched for like a room was doing CH1 dashless, since doing the stamina saving wall jumps are very inconsistent with stick. So I think 2 rooms in ch1 I used d-pad for those.

@@Nat_the_Chicken yeah but doing it over and over while trying to grab the edge of that traffic light block is torture on your hands. It's a pretty broken piece of tech tho, I reckon even more than spike jumps.

Way easier to achieve with the platform at 1:13:03. I managed to bait the seeker in with relative ease in my first playthrough.

the guys that helped for the Skyword Sword story and that helped for
BOTW's world... I'm pretty sure you would like it ! Also, if you play
it, I think you should start with Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive

As a speedrunner of this game, I have 2 things to say.
1- this reminds me of my first playtrough, wich I had almost forgotten.
2- the rumbling turned on is painfull
This game took me almost a year to beat, but that is with a several month long break in-between.

If you see this- speedrunning this game is NOT hard to get into. you can very easily get into speedrunning the game without practicing anything, and it only takes getting into a higher level of play that you absolutely NEED to learn any of the really technical movements; don't let runners like buhbai or marlin make you think speedrunning this game is impossible to get into.

Oh yes, the game that I beat like 4 times(every abc cides and chapter 9)(but not every golden berry) one of my favourite games(probably like 3rd favourite after Hollow knight and Destiny 2)
I've done 202 way too many times lol. But my favorite thing to do is with extended variants having it add up to 10 variants randomizing every 5 seconds
