As someone who has played through his game multiple times to it’s full extent, it’s seriously a breath of fresh air to see the first experiences of a new player. I’ve never had that feeling before and it’s a super weird feeling to have

Hollow Knight and Dark Souls, games I always love seeing people play for the first time.
Watching someone experience the wonder and achievement, stopping at all the places I stopped at in awe of the environment, dying in stupid yet hilarious ways. You get to relive those feelings vicariously and it's really nice.

I actually really like that the devs deliberately made a whole goddamn areas and bosses completely missable. It really makes the game feel even more huge and mysterious.

I think he's just trying to edit out all the tedious deaths. We see him struggle a bit, and then we see the run where he wins. I don't really see the problem with that. Hell, he left in the clip in the beginning where he just jumped straight on top of spikes, so it's not like he is just editing out his flops.

Its nice to see more people go through the experience that is Hollow Knight. I believe this is one of the best indie games created amongst stuff like Undertale, Subnautica, Celeste, etc.

The two mantises were much easier than the single mantis in my opinion but then again I also lost to Gruz mother more times than I lost to nightmare king grimm because I can’t mentally deal with the bounce but everything else can be easily avoided

The rewards are a little hard to find for new players
This guy managed to figure out pogoing on his own and I got stuck at fungal wastes before I even realized (ie googled) you could up/down slash.
Edit: I mean, I figured out you could shift your view by holding up or down, so I thought I already found the function for it. And until I reached fungal wastes, it didn't seem like I was missing anything.

My friend told my to get the game and told me the basic mechanics
Same here, idk why I didn't think of it I just assumed like the other "Higher Beings" texts or the spells that it would tell me if I could do that. I knew I could up/down slash I just didn't think that I could use it to jump, or that the purple fungus would make me go higher
Same here, I spent hours in that room trying to figure out how to get higher. Eventually googled it.
Um, it's pretty basic movements. Maybe you didn't explore all the options, sometimes you got blinded by the games amazingness and forget to explore the mechanics. 🙂

I so badly wish I could play this game for the first time again. My playthrough was the experience I've ever had with a game and to this day hollow knight is my favorite game. It's so beautifully made and so much love went into it. It makes me so happy to see new people experience what I experienced, it reminds me of how great this game is.
If you’ve watched the vods, you’ll know that this is a funny experience

I love how we go from a beautiful, cinematic intro to Crow just saying "what the fuck"
It's super fascinating to see that almost every first time player completely forgets about using spells. They are extremely powerful in the early game (and very useful in late game), yet most don't remember using them.
You know, until Crow brought it up, I never really thought about the fact that the large husk is functionally a smaller False Knight

I loved this so fucking much, I just had such a massive grin the entire time while watching, it reminded me of my own first time descending into the rich world of Hallownest. Usually with longer videos I put them in the background while drawing or playing some other game, but this one had my whole attention the whole time, very well done, I'm super excited for more

I'm very curious to see the reaction you have after saving all the grubs. If you do save them all, that is. They're pretty well hidden, and completing everything in this game is not easy. Especially not the extra content added after 1.0.
But the more people who experience the wonderfulness of Hollow Knight, the better.
As someone who started following your content for BOTW, I welcome everything Hollow Knight. I went down that rabbit hole and it's only a matter of time before I play it again.

The second phase of the lords’ fight reminds me of a round, in the musical sense. Like when you’re watching one you’re using their movements to anticipate the other’s next move. The music, itself, actually seems to follow pretty closely.
I’ve always struggled with this game so this was fun to watch. Can’t wait for the next part!

I am super hyped for this series. I have been a BOTW fan for a while but I just played Hollow Knight earlier this year and it was amazing. One of my top 5 favorite games of all time. I normally don't like platformers (exception: A Hat in Time) but this game is just unbelievable. My favorite thing is the otherworldly immersion you can get by being lost.
