One of the reasons for the lack of seasoning is the desire to serve those who, for whatever reason, want less seasoning. It seems to be a trend unfortunately for those of us who prefer well seasoned food.

    • @pchelloo
      @pchelloo 2 года назад +3

@@donaldmickunas8552 I agree with you. I'm an American and I would truly appreciate the less seasoned food, as it allows the natural flavor of the food to shine through. Salt is nobody's friend...especially to those with high blood pressure. Nevertheless, it would be yet another problem if they added too much. Damned if you do, etc, scenario. :)

My wife and I love MSC Cruises, although we've only cruised with them in the Yacht Club. But, I personally find the international passenger manifest refreshing. The food is nothing to write home about, but you're not going to find a Ruth's Chris steak on any cruise ship at sea. We've met some great people from all over the world thanks to MSC.

The price is a little steep for MSC but still a great value compared to other cruiselines. Going on a RC cruise to Greek Islands for 8 days on Sept. 11. The cheapest indoor Cabin cost us $2400 with no drinks, tips or wifi. Just with the drink package for 2 would come out to $1152. Over all it cost over $3500 with no wifi and inside stateroom. MSC best value period.

I had a horrible experience on MSC and swore I’d never go back. The boarding was chaotic (this was pre-COVID in Germany) and took hours . They cancelled one of the stops due to weather and didn’t find an alternative plan; just dropped anchor in the middle of the sea🤣. The staff was unhappy and complaining.
    The ship was solidly-built, thought.

We did a cruise out of Genoa, Italy, on an Italian cruise line, many years ago. Loved the ports. Forget getting ice in any drink. Food was just edible, but no buffet, and if you didn’t go to your assigned dining time, you didn’t eat. It was very different from cruises we were accustomed to out of the US. All with it, though, for the ports!

I really enjoyed seeing pics and hearing about your experience on European crushing compared to US cruising. Back in 2004 my European cruise was the best thing ever to me!!! It was my 1st cruise so I had nothing to compare it to. The food, staff, cabin was the best. The cost for a 7 day Spain, Italy, France, including air fare from USA for 2 was over $3k. May have included a military discount. That was just for the minimum, Oceanview, no wifi or drink packages, lol, but the experience was everything!!! Yes, please share any additional footage you have, I’m enjoying and reminiscing through your experience. 🚢🚢

Hey Jay this is Blair one of your subscribers and a big fan of both of your channels okay that part, and I must say I really enjoyed this style of video in fact one of my other favorite RUclips cruise vloggers Emma Cruises, she also does this type of cruise videos when she reviews and talks about her cruises that she has gone on, so I find that this format is amazing because it keeps us the viewer engaged the whole time, so I hope you do more of these types of videos because I found it very engaging and very entertaining, Also I just got back from my very first European Cruise as well, from June 19th through June 26th I was on my very first Royal Caribbean cruise on wonder of the Seas, and we sailed out of Barcelona and we went to Marseille France, Florence and Pisa Italy and of course Rome and the Vatican and also Naples and the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii, which was a dream come true for me because I've always wanted to see Pompeii, and we also went to the island of Palma next to Ibiza, and I must say I really enjoyed my first time in Europe it was amazing and I can't wait to go back in fact I'm looking into doing a river cruise in Europe next, so I have been on many Carnival Cruises but I must say I do love Royal Caribbean now but don't worry I'm not a loyal Royal 🤷🏾‍♀️😂👍🏾 because I want to try all the cruise lines including virgin voyages, Norwegian, celebrity, princess, Holland America, Cunard, MSC, P&O and maybe Disney if I take my nephew, and like I mentioned I also want to do river cruises as well, hell I just love cruising okay that part, anyway I just wanted to give my input and of course say hello and let you know I'm still watching and apologize for this long comment, but I hope you read it and again I hope you do more videos like this one because it was one of your best videos okay that part, sincerely Blair Fox Love!*🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Was on MSC Armonia in July- pretty sure my family were the only Americans on board. Most everyone spoke English anyway, although most of my family is fluent in Spanish as well. My balcony room was the smallest room I have ever been on in any ship- my mother's inside cabin was slightly bigger than my balcony cabins for other family members., Oh, I forgot to mention- the food was pretty poor unless you really like lamb, veal, and/or mussels. Won't go on MSC again at least for a long time- maybe in North American waters when they change to food to suit NA tastes.

As for renting car, I 100% agree with this for Sydney Australia as well. Sydney has a decent enough train network that you can stay anywhere in the city and grab a train to Circular Quay for the cruise terminal there. If your ship is docked at White Bay Cruise Terminal, it's a cheap taxi or Uber run, or you can get a ferry from Circular Quay. Do not drive it yourself, whatever you do.

Found your channel a couple of weeks ago and love your videos! Just got off of a 3 day cruise on Divina. I was very disappointed by the ship's condition and the food. I sailed on MSC Meraviglia in 2019 and it was a great experience. The food was amazing and the ship was pretty close to perfect. Divina had internet problems the entire cruise. The tvs in the staterooms only showed the advertisements for excursions and shopping. The couple traveling with us also got called out for not watching their video for the muster stations even though they called in. Leaning towards not sailing with MSC in the future.

As for multiple production shows on ships you should check out Disney! Not only do they have the Sail Away Deck Party, they have a Welcome Show in the Mainstage, then at least 2 (sometimes 3) LARGE Broadway style production shows. On top of that they have Deck Parties for Pirates Night, Frozen Night or other deck party them nights. In addition to this the Mainstage cast has to escort the Characters (Mickey, Minnie et al) for greetings and events around the ship or in port. Cast Members on DCL have no days off (or very rare).
When I worked on Holland America many years ago they had 3 production shows plus other ship duties but I believe that has changed.

I like your take but I do have a few things to point out as a different perspective on your take. I am an American who is stationed military in Germany and have been here awhile, so I see the blend of Euro and American "styles". I agree the buffet is woefully underseasoned, and there is no excuse for that. Regarding the shower being small, that is how most homes in Europe are as well. I am maybe one inch taller than you and most showers here are tight. Regarding portion sizes in the main dining room, they are small but Europeans scoff at American portion sizes. And to me, when in Rome do as the Romans..... I do like how you describe the daily embarkation/disembarkation. To me that actually leads to a less chaotic boarding process. I did the MSC Grandiosa with 6 specialty restaurants so it was a bigger ship. Turning over 500-600 cabins a day is far less chaotic than 3000 all at once.

Just finished a 7 day Eastern Med cruise on the MSC Lirica, exact same ship as the Opera with the exception of an expanded shopping area. Agree with much of what you said, buffet food was the worst I've ever had plus the pushing and shoving was horrible. Ship had very limited dining options and really not much to do. Do like older ships because of their large pool areas not taken up with stupid attractions like go-karts. I was a solo English speaking traveller and one of the few that spoke English so do not recommend for non-english speakers unless you're with a group of friends. Lirica class ships will likely be retired soon as they are very dated, very limited and no longer come anywhere near the dining, features and attractions of newer MSC ships. Overall don't recommend Lirica-class ships but glad you enjoyed your cruise.

My wife and I sailed on MSC Seasore in April 2022, Caribbean cruise, and yes the showers was a tight fit, lol. I hated that shower.
The food was not that great either. Otherwise, it was a good cruise.
Probably will not sail on MSC anytime soon.

I have sailed msc 4 times since covid.all have been from fla. You have to remember that it is European and their cooking is different from us. I throughly enjoyed msc. During covid the ship only had 1000 passengers. I am diamond plus at royal, and I have same status with msc. They do status match. Awesome. Planned sailing on seashore in oct for back to back. Just booked Mergavlia for Jan 8 balcony that includes drink pkg and wifi for 600. 7 day cruise. Unheard of on other lines. In Oct it will be my 55 cruise. Love MSC. Upscale sailing. They are getting ready to build the largest port in Miami. Bigger than royal. Cruise line to look out for in the future 😉

Half way into this video I knew MSC in Europe was of no interest to me. Thanks for saving me the time and $$

The shower in that cabin looks a lot like the ones on crew cabins

Those muster drills everyday are a pain I ll agree that s why we do not do the short round the Med trips anymore in the summer - it s like a ferry.
We noticed a huge difference with MSC post Covid. We are on our tenth MSC cruise in October. I am not a fan of Costa but we do enjoy a week away around the Med because we live here and it s economic for a week s vacation
We love the MSC Splendida and Precioza

I actually prefer this style. This way I know you were able to actually enjoy yourself without working the entire time.

That shower would meet the needs of most Europeans, especially on the Med (where I live), people are not very tall and much slimmer than most. Some Germans and English might think otherwise.

Definitely the best cruise experiences I’ve had are the ones that have the least of my fellow Americans onboard.

I am very nervous. I have a 15 day cruise coming in Oct. It's a 15 day west and east Caribbean cruise on board the MSC Seashore. We got a balcony on the 15th floor, Aurea class!!!
The only experience I had was on MSC Divina back in 2017. I remember we had a good time.
I not shure now if I should cancel it

It looks like they took old carnival Cruise ship plans and built that one you got to remember MSC is the company who owned the achille lauro

The issue with MSC is that it caters to a different audience. That’s all…

I just sailed on MSC Divina and it was...great. Great ship, great crew, great food (except the meatball sub, that was...just no). I think they're finally 'getting' the North American market.

Totally disagree- was on Armonia from Venice in July- food was not at all what North Americans would be happy with (my family wasn't)- ports were great, most of staff was great, food was poor- Way too much reliance on lamb, veal, and mussels.

We sailed on MSC DIVINA in June, liked it so much we sailed again in July...great ship, awesome crew.

@@mcarabis ok, so you are doing short 3 day cruises from Port Canaveral where they will tailor the food to the north American market. My point was from Venice in an almost all Italian or European market, the food was likely very different from a cruise in North America (and we did not like it).
