i remember when you first got this car and you showed it on gp visions. this thing as came a long ass way since you got it. mad props, lots of respect, great job! almost makes you not even want to drive it and get a shit box so it doesn't get destroyed in a parking lot or something.
This is the second best sounding grand prix I've heard. Ed Morad (look him up) had a monster back in the early 2000s before YT! Awesome sounding machine man!!!!
If the headers are equal length (shorty or long doesn't matter), make sure the downpipes and midpipes (really the whole system) is also equal length, and add an H-pipe to it. It'll keep the deep tone, but smooth it out a bit. X-pipe will make it higher pitched and more racey. A Y-pipe, especially with a single exit will do the same, and possibly more so. You CAN have a performance Y pipe that doesn't choke the engine as long as you use the 4/3 rule of increasing diameter. And if this is under 500whp, you definitely don't need 3" duals, 2.5" duals and/or a 3.5" single will suffice. The sickest/highest pitch/most supercar sound would come from a custom equal-length 6-into-1 header that's routed with the firing order going into the collector sequentially in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise pattern. Assuming this engine is even firing, that is. IE a 60-degree bank angle, or a 90-degree bank angle with split crankpins(like the gen 5 4.3).
my dad recently got a 04 LeSabre (with the 3800 Series II) & wish I had the money to use the exact parts you have on my dad's LeSabre for shits & giggles lol
I don't know if you'll see this but I'm building an L67 engine and I want the same sound for it because it will be a Dale jr replica and I was wondering how I can achieve that same lope without lean issues
Nick Paukner hell yeah man sounds bad ass I've been debating on the xp or NIC cam just got my heads back ha any noticeable difference? do you have a tune?
You either found 'em or gave up by now but for others....these are E-Bay specials. If you buy them get some clear RTV sealant to seal the edges and keep water out of them. They come smoked or clear / chrome. I bought some 10 years ago, sealed them and never had a problem.
Nick Paukner damn, thought that was you, I heard it start and sounded sick then I saw this video a month or two later and same color, taillights, exhaust, and that cam. Figured it was the same guy lol
I have my idle set to 715 and reduced timing, but haven't had a chance to start the car yet as it's a canned tune. Any idea if my car will idle like yours?
@@ViralkillkidFTW I guess maybe a baseline would be in the 360s tho, considering your set up but could be higher or lower depending on the tune. What made you get rid of it?
Just fyi for you guys out there who want to get rid of the tingy raspy sound at anything above 2000 rpms lol, its the firing order that causes the unique chain saw massacre sound of the 3800. You can get differn't cranks/different firing orders for the 3800 series 2... including flat plane cranks, that will pretty much be a Ferrari engine when your done with the right cam and valve train.
