      @@fire398017 You have no teflon on your rotors. You were superheating the air on the 3.4 without appropriate exhaust mods.
      I was a 3.5 Pulley guy for this reason.
      I had people put on 3.2" pulley with FULL exhaust, and I stacked some washers under their bypass valve and had them pick UP nearly 30 HP by dropping boost back down....

      @@fire398017 with no tune, yeah you probably will. I doubt the intake was the culprit unless you installed it wrong, exhaust I could say cannot be it either. So... Back in 2000...
    I was the ONLY GUY telling people to dump this blower and go turbo... Literally. The only guy.
    ONE guy had a TT setup with 1 picture floating around the internet, from another country but that's it.
    Needless to say, I got all sorts of stupid comments like "Why go turbo, it's supercharged from the factory."
    From some guys that ended up running this stuff "A T62!? THAT'S WAY TOO BIG!" They ended up using a T62 for their kits a year or more later... (Cartuning)...
    I've realized it doesn't even matter if you're the first guy or what you do it's what you KEEP doing.
    ZZP and Scott Cook are STILL in the game. I'm blown away Turbo Tim back from ClubGP is still OG'ing it with these mods.
    I miss these guys and that community. Forums were like a brotherhood back then!
    So for the 3800. THE mod to do. Is, manifolds and a proper turbo... Dump that blower.
    We'd get knock on 93 octane on STOCK components on the 3800... But when we turbo'ed the car, we ran out of fuel and MAF running on the factory ECU with ZERO tuning, no knock, full timing running much leaner (out of fuel).
    These blowers ARE NOT worth anyone's time. A baby chinese turbo will out perform these blowers every day of the week, how much more would a proper Garrett or BorgWarner, Precision be for the car. :)

    Guys here's what you do, get a decent Grand National or T-Type roller and build up a 3800 series 2 engine. It's not as expensive as you think. First all the 3800 S2 has a great stock bottom end. The crank is nodular iron, which is tough as hell, and the stock mains are very beefy. As far as I know the stock heads, whether using SC heads and NA heads, when ported will flow better than GN stock ported heads. I've heard the S3 connecting rods are pretty strong as well, but I wouldn't chance it and get forged rods and pistons. Diamond makes a nice set. A 4l60E will bolt right up to the 3800, which is cheap, but if you plan on over 600rwhp you'd better go with 4L80, which is still cheap. Then it's a matter of fabricating parts to make it fit in the GN. Finally you'd need an after market engine and trans controller.

    I have an Oldsmobile Intrigue with a Gen2 3.8. I have taken top end parts off a GT Grand Prix and currently in the process of a catback install. I was considering a supercharger and was curious what kind of job I am looking at undertaking. I hear the Old's engine is the better of the series and could bolt on a factory set-up out of a GTP. I have the intake. It's the electronics I am mainly concerned with. Any ideas or information would be appreciated. Thanks.

      @ZZPerformanceChannel  3 года назад +1

      They can make a lot of power depending on how much modding you're willing to do. Supercharged 3800's are the more affordable option for more HP, while turbocharging can take you even further.

    Hi I have a question. I have a 2001 Buick 3800 supercharged and I have a 2005 Monte Carlo 3800 with out supercharged can I swap the supercharged from the Buick to the Monte Carlo? Thank you

    • @ZZPerformanceChannel
      @ZZPerformanceChannel  3 года назад +1

      If your 2005 Monte Carlo is supercharged it shares the same Gen 3 Eaton M90 supercharger as the Buick. If you have a naturally aspirated Monte you will need to complete what is called a "Top Swap". This is because of the injector location difference between the L36 and L67. If you have any further questions reach out to us at customerservice@zzperformance.com

    • @ZZPerformanceChannel
      @ZZPerformanceChannel  3 года назад +1

      Yes, very common swap. You'll want to swap everything from the heads on up from the supercharged engine. Google "3800 top swap", people have been doing it for years, plenty of info out there.
      Or we sell our bolt on L36 supercharger kit that comes with everything to do so and not change the heads.
