Thank you for your video I had a coworker yell at me yesterday and personally attack me two weeks into a new job. I waited and calmed down and an hour later approached her and told her we were a team and to never speak to me like that again. This all happend Infront of another co worker well she then continued to yell and personally attack. So I walked away. Unfortunately I then went to my desk avoided eveyone and yes I cried. Now hours later she had when to management about the situation so I then had to explain the situation. This coworker doesn’t like me one bit and felt threatened. I left feeling embarrassed with that happening in front of another co worker and my tears. I’m the type when I get upset I’ll get hurt later. Today I have to go in in the morning and have no clue how to handle her. It’s not ok but I have to work with her. Now this co worker acts differently when management is around so they were surprised. What makes the situation sticky is I have a relative that also works there and the last thing I want is them knowing of the situation as our work lives are separate and I want to be treated as my own person. I would have left it between us but as my co worker emmediatly went to managed I had no choice but to explain the situation. I didn’t get into the personal attacks just her yelling at me.

Just got laid off for advocating for myself while my 33 yr old boss treated me horribly, called me aggressive, criticized me every week on our weekly calls. Blatantly disrespectful towards me to the point where the rest of the team witnessed it. Just fisgusting

Unfortunately those things do happen. Brush yourself off and keep going. Don’t let it dim your light, continue to advocate for yourself.

It's happened me now. Mentally corrupted coward man/women. Doing all witchcraft behind me. Still now threatening me since I am in notice period. Useless fellows.

“Speak your truth”. Do you really think a superior who is thoughtless enough or cruel enough to yell at you cares about what “your truth” is? Get real, they will make up some bs to get rid of you.

Totally agree! I had a similar situation of confronting a boss who went on to be a supporter.

Is it ever too late to practice these skills when you have been working with a company over a year ?
