I love your cheery tone and attitude, I had an accident and am blind in one eye and can barely see out of 2nd eye, however with your rule of thirds & other techniques I am able to color at least sitting healing, thank you so much for making these videos, they are as good as the actual coloring oh, well not quite but you've taught me a lot LOL
I would love to see how you organize your other pencils. Would you consider coming up with a book that would show not only the three pencils within the same color family that blend together but other color combinations? I know not only myself but a ton of other people are always looking for color combinations in their coloring. This would be great!!!
I laughed out loud when you referred to your husband's being your bag/trunk/carry-on pack horse as his, "lot in life." You two seem to make a great team!
I am new to all of this. You are teaching me so much at my 50 year young age and I am enjoying your blessed gift of drawing and putting colors together. You led me to purchase my first set of markers (Blick Studio Brush), I have my Blick colored pencils in my shopping cart and just purchased your Book. Thank you so very much for passing on your knowledge.
Thank you for showing how simple it is to organize our pencils into "color sets" and this video is easy to follow along with also. I would like to see other organizing videos.
Jennifer, you are such a delight to watch and the information you have for us is invaluable! I subscribed to your channel a few months ago and am so happy I did. I am also in awe of your ‘Tri-Tone Blends’ series of worksheets and am in possession of the Tombow one. Looks like i’ll be needing the Prismacolor Premier one LOL Let me be the 3rd to request a Polychromos video 😁 Love from Canada ❤️ Hugs to Rosie
I have a set of 48 from when I was in college. They were and are my babies, lol. I saved up for them and was so happy when I got them. I can’t imagine managing that many pencils though, that’s a lot of colors....
WOW! My first box of these just arrived, your timing is fantastic 😉. I already printed out your swatch chart. Thank you so much for all the hard work you do to help our coloring experience be more enjoyable!
It must have taken you years to know how to make all of those tritone combos. I took the time to organize mine by color wheel because I didnt have that chart on the box like yours, but if I had a better system, I would use that instead. Many of the colors in the 150 box of Prismacolor intrigue me but I have no idea what to use them with. I am fascinated with your system!
Tuscan Red has been the bain of my existence. Last 3 pencils just were shall we say ugghhh.. so last time I went to hobby lobby I bought 10 of them. Lol love prismacolor pencils
Thanks for the excellent video. Have you noticed-over the years-a deterioration in the quality control for Prismacolor pencils since they changed ownership? For example, the colored cores being off-center, etc. I'm excited to watch more of your videos. I love to geek out over art mediums and materials!
I love mine too! This was the first set I purchased. I have since bought Polychromos and Luminance for commission work, but I use my Prismacolor for practice, trying a commission work (blending colors) before I start the piece. They are sensitive. Besides the creamy soft core, they also don't have a protective barrel over the end (could have something to do with why they break(??). I wish they were lightfast...can't really rely on the color lasting on a piece I sell. Such a bummer because their color spectrum is unmatched!
Thank you Jennifer! This helps a lot because I’ve been trying to figure out how to organize all my prismacolor pencils. I just bought the 150 set and you’re right the box is way too big. Your nails look gorgeous by the way.
Coloring Bliss I received my order of your sampler paper yesterday, including the watercolor paper. I’m very excited to try it. Sitting down now to color & try the paper for colored pencils.
Thank you for all the work you and Steve do. I just ordered my Tri-Tone books (Prisma Premier and Tombow). I can't wait to start filling them in and learning about the tri-color blends.
Love seeing different organization techniques. I think I'm going to take my second 150 set and pull your tri-blend combos out for a separate case. I'm too set in my ways with how I organize my current set that I can't change it. For my most used pencils, I barely have to look where they are. I just grab. *lol* I once heard the Verithin pencils being described as being for outlines and detail work, not for general coloring. It's similar to the Derwent Studio pencils where the hardness allows you to get sharp lines/details because the tip doesn't break so easily. My problem is: I forget to use them. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Jennifer and Steve , I have had a full case with my Black Widows . I organized them in the sets and case is full . Now I ordered a 160 pencil slot case to house the Monarch along with them . I have been wondering if I should put them in sets of 3 or all reds with reds , blue with blues etc ? Just curious how you store yours and what your swatch chart for all 144 Black Widows is like ? Thank you. Hope my question makes sense lol 🖌️🖍️🖼️🕸️🎨🧡💜
Have you made an on the go bag/kit? You know, for inspiration on the go. I tried putting kids together and I wind up taking either not enough or too many things. what you would take with you? for example at a café. Thank you! Love prismacolor pencils.

Do any of your pencils end up in more than one spot? So for instance in the tritones and also in the skin tones section? Or is this only your 150 each pencil goes in one spot?
Yes they do! When that happens, I leave the pencil in the group where it gets used the most and then in the other section, I leave a little note to myself so I know where to go find it. Great question!
Thank you so much for sharing this concept Jennifer! I got really curious about all the skin tones, would you consider providing a list of all the pencils you consider to be a skin tone color?
Hi Debora. I share all the skin tone colors including the charts you see in my case as part of the skin tone workshop I mentioned in the video. It is just one of the many workshops and resources that you get when you become a Bliss Partner on our website. Thanks for watching!
..... did you get the question answered or did you have to buy something? I am only asking because I just asked a question similar to yours on a different video of hers and wondering. Thank you for your time Debora🤗
Very useful video. Love the little tags. You asked if there was a problem pencil. I have problems with pumpkin orange. It crumbles no mater how careful I am sharpening, including turning the sharpener very slowly around the pencil. It's a beautiful color, but the whole pencil just crumbled. I never once got a point even a partial one. Did I just get a defective pencil, or all of the pumpkin oranges like this? I don't have this problem with any other pencils.
Thank you for the wonderfully informative video. I love the way you explain things! I don’t own prismacolors, but I do have polychromos and inktense so I would love to see videos on those. Take care and be well ❤️
Another awesome video about our favorite brand of pencils. I appreciate all the work you do for us, Jen. Do you have some workshops in the Color Bliss partner groups for using grey pencils? I have found I am not using mine much but I really don't know what to do with them other than shading. I did a mermaid using them recently to practice a technique I saw, laying down the grey and then the color on top that that was fun but I assume there is so much more?
Love ❤️ love your energy and thoroughly explaining how to fix your Prisma premier pencils in a order that makes sense now I just have to find out how to apply to WIN the beautiful set of Prisma premier pencils.
Great informative video, I would love to see more tips and tricks, I’m new to this hobby and am loving it....just had a nearly month long evacuation from Hurricane Laura Cat 4 and coloring helped keep me as sane and relaxed as possible. We are just getting back and it looks like a war zone. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. We are now all working to repair and get things livable again. I’m subscribed and would love to be put into your drawings. Thank you for being a great teacher. 🌸
I have 150 set of PC but I recently bought a 520 brutfuner set and I need to swatch them. I didn’t know if I should start with reds then go into oranges but there’s so many I just know I wanna keep all the reds together and yellows on the swatch sheet.
Yes! Something must be up with the way the pigment and the binder work together on the Tuscan Red. It’s one of my favorite colors but I’m on like my third pencil since keeps breaking. One time when I put the pencil to the paper it just disintegrated and I wasn’t even pressing hard.
Thank you for your most illuminating way of organising the colours. I have two sets if 150 premier pencils, (I just accidentallysharpened the number end of dark green! Is there any likelihood of a 'set two' for these pencils so that we can buy the rest and thus own the whole set?
Hmmmmmm. You got me thinking. I love coloring with colored pencils the best. And I don’t really have my colored pencils in any kind of organization. When I’m looking for a color scheme I go onto Pinterest and then I kind of go from there. As I’m writing this I’m thinking. Ooooooh boy. So thank you very much LOL
Pinterest is a great way to get color inspiration! So many fun ways to get started on a coloring page and art project. We have a lot of great tools at Coloring Bliss if you decide you want more help.
Great videos thank you 🙏. My local office supply store had prisma premier on sale for 150 set. So I got them. I was a year into colouring. I only wanted to use water colour at that time. I have broken that fixation with Prisma because it appeared to be a favourite of most colourists and used in most colour alongs and used by almost every RUclips colourist. It has been a year since this video. Do you still like prisma over most of the other brands? As far as I can tell it’s Prisma or the extremely expensive brands.
I'm interested in seeing how you organize your pencils out of the case, perhaps on your desktop. I am struggling with this. All the commercial stands are too expensive. I am looking for an inexpensive storage idea. Thank you.
All of my pencils live in cases right now. I have a dedicated shelf at my art studio desk where the cases are stored within easy reach. This helps me keep all the pencils in their Tri-tones and safely protected...and quickly accessible.
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for this video. This is going to help me get better organized with my Prismacolor pencils. I've recently been gifted a 60 set of Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. Do you have a video on how to organize those? Thanks so much. I absolutely adore you. ❤🤗
Can you point me to where on your website the charts for portraiture are? Thanks! I already have your prismacolors Tritone workbook but I want to get the rest in order in my pencil case soon!

They are an awesome, creamy, and vibrantly colored set of 120 pencils, available on Amazon for only $29.95… That is their regular price too!! They are even creamier than Prisma scholars, but not quite as creamy as Prisma premieres!!
Thanks for the product recommendation. I’m always looking for new colored pencil sets that are high quality for possible Tri-tone candidates. I will keep these in mind.
Trouble with pencils? YES!!! Chartreuse, black, white, cream, canary yellow, lemon yellow, mineral orange, mahogany red, chocolate, espresso. There may be others. I started with 36 ct.; added150 ct. last week. I have only used a few of the 150 ct., and 4 of those lost lead more than once with initial sharpening. Ugh! How do you cope? Any way to get replacements easily?
might I suggest if your having trouble with any pencils, use a rotary sharpener personally I use a jakar hand crank and electric sharpener, I love them theybe never failed me problem with standard sharpeners is they can and do twist the lead leading to snapping, rotary sharpeners rotate round them causing alot less breakages, I've only had 1 pencil be a problem but ive used both with both woodless (damn near impossible to sharpen unless yu use a rotary) and wooded plus they give a very long point
Thanks for the suggestion. I have a Carl rotary helix sharpener that works well but it is sooo aggressive and removes sooo much product. I may need to try another brand.
@@ColoringBliss I do suggest jakar, ive replaced the blade once in I think 5 years and thats even with the sharpening of woodless and I'm sure you know how hard they are to sharpen, although woodless are better sharpened in the electric jakar as it does need to grip they do tend to sharpen to a point well and don't tend to over sharpen (from my experience and I've used palamino blackwing with this(we all know how pricey they can be)) in these so you might like them if you do decide to check them out it might be good to see a video on your opinions of them
@@ColoringBliss so glad I just started following you on Twitter and tweeted you in a photo of the prisma tips in it (you can see the 1 s I've used alot)
Hi Jennifer, love how you store and organise your pencils .. I would love to try the prisma pencils .. hopefully one day I can purchase them .. I have the small set of polychromos which I was bought for my birthday and the small set of inktense too .. I did purchase the castle pencils myself which I was told was good but I’m on the fence just getting back into colouring and I have been binge watching your Chanel to learn more and learn how to blend better and get a more even look … also I don’t know how true it is but I was told if you put your broken pencils in a bit of tin foil and wrap the pencil then put it in the oven for about 10 to 15 mins then take it out and leave on the side for an hour it fixes the broken cores as the heat helps melt them together again … have you heared this or tried this tysmfs sweetie 🥰
I have a question for you I wanna know about it the tools and the the equipment that you taking with you when you traveling , or when you going to stay in a place more than one day ,so what should I take with me ? and by the way your hair looks gorgeous , beautiful i like the new color on you ♥️🤗
Just found your channel. I have a love hate relationship with prisma. I have a older 150 set from 7 years ago. I have several that keep breaking especially the greens and reds. The ones I use the most. They are great for a while then when I go to sharpen mid way they break and break. And then I stop colouring all together,😢 I give up for the frustration. I love sharp points but they don’t stay like that for long. I wish they were unbreakable and always stayed sharp. 😂❤

I started with 36 ct.; added150 ct. last week. I have only used a few of the 150 ct., and 4 of those lost lead more than once with initial sharpening. Ugh! How do you cope? Any way to get replacements easily?
Can't wait to get my hands on those and other things but this pandemic has me broke and stressed out.
Pretty polish on your nails!
might I suggest if your having trouble with any pencils, use a rotary sharpener
personally I use a jakar hand crank and electric sharpener, I love them theybe never failed me
problem with standard sharpeners is they can and do twist the lead leading to snapping, rotary sharpeners rotate round them causing alot less breakages, I've only had 1 pencil be a problem but ive used both with both woodless (damn near impossible to sharpen unless yu use a rotary) and wooded
plus they give a very long point
Thanks for the suggestion. I have a Carl rotary helix sharpener that works well but it is sooo aggressive and removes sooo much product. I may need to try another brand.
@@ColoringBliss I do suggest jakar, ive replaced the blade once in I think 5 years and thats even with the sharpening of woodless and I'm sure you know how hard they are to sharpen, although woodless are better sharpened in the electric jakar as it does need to grip
they do tend to sharpen to a point well and don't tend to over sharpen (from my experience and I've used palamino blackwing with this(we all know how pricey they can be)) in these so you might like them
if you do decide to check them out it might be good to see a video on your opinions of them
Thanks! I will check it out!
@@ColoringBliss so glad
I just started following you on Twitter and tweeted you in a photo of the prisma tips in it (you can see the 1 s I've used alot)
I have a question for you I wanna know about it the tools and the the equipment that you taking with you when you traveling , or when you going to stay in a place more than one day ,so what should I take with me ?
and by the way your hair looks gorgeous , beautiful i like the new color on you ♥️🤗
Thanks Jennifer

@@krislamore5607 HI Kris! What's up?
@@pattytolliver2651 I’m fine how are you doing, hope you are safe from the virus?
I would like to get a pencil case like the one you have for my prismacolours. Can you help
