YES! I number every set of pencils, pens, markers etc 1-2-3-4 etc because it makes it so quick and easy to find a pencil and to put them all away. I put the matching number 1-2-34 etc on the swatch chart. This is especially helpful if your pencils get totally mixed up. Thank you for all your info, its amazing!
I just bought my first prismacolors and wanted to keep them in the order as they came, but the box fell off and now they all mixed. That’s how I found this video, to organize them. Thank you.
Sorry I missed the livestream, but glad to watch the replay. Just wanted to share one of my little organizing hacks. When I'm working on a project over several days, after I initially select the colors, I keep them in a separate small pencil case or zipper pouch together with the project page. I don't return them to my big spectrum-order case until the project is done. This also helps keep me focused on finishing that project & not jumping around to too many at once 😅.
The Prismacolor numbering is likely to represent when they introduced - or when they began considering - a pencil color. If there are a lot of gaps in the numbers, it's likely the latter.
I don't number them 1 through 150. Once my particular set is arranged by color family, I write the pencil number IN MY CASE with sharpie so I always know where to put them. On my polychromos which are so hard to read, I then use my label maker to label the pencils themselves, easy to see. Using a big case (like 300) I can do tritone for the most commonly used ones and do the same in the unused section. Of course that means buying more pencils! Ann
OMGosh I need it all lol. I used to color a lot but stopped about 8 years ago. Last week I decided I wanted to start coloring again. So off I go into the storage room to get my colored pencils. And what do you know, seems like all my green pencils didn't like being put away! And those little buggers up and grew legs and walked away. Yep, all I have is one green pencil lol, And I'm not sure yet but I think they took some other pencils along with them. So I headed over to Amazon to buy a new swatch book and I was looking at the open stock PC pencils. Wow, I can't believe how much the price has gone up! I know it has been 8 years but before I was paying around $3 for open-stock pencils. And I need to get a case for all my pencils because what worked before to store my pencils will no longer work for me on my desk. (sorry for the long post)
I love this, so very useful. Have you ever considered doing a special book for FC Polychromos that is formatted like the Prismacolor one. That would be truly awesome. I am going to start on my Prismacolors tonight 😀
I organized according to the book. In each section. So the first set is your portrait. Then they are speckled through the rest. Love these pencils. Congrats to whoever your winner will be.
Hi Jennifer! One thing I've just learned, having gotten my first Prisma set a few weeks ago and using my Dymo labelmaker to number them...the labels do not want to stick to themselves where they're wrapped around at the end! It seems like the paper labels do better than the clear plastic ones (I ran out of the paper and had to use plastic), so I've ordered more of the paper cartridge ones. Hopefully that helps you and anyone else who reads this! It took forever to do, but it sure makes it easy to keep the pencils in order!
So your regular swatch chart for 150 Prismacolor premiere is organized like this? Because I use all your swatch charts for my pencils so that’s really good to know! The tri-tone sheets are so soo useful, I struggle with creating color combos … I just don’t have the experience like artists do. So I’m very grateful that you and Steve took the time to create all this!
👋👩🦳Hello Jennifer, Steve, and little Rose! Love how you have organized your Prisma coloring pencils! I have just awoken here and the clock is 04.56 am in Sweden. I know that one winner will be very happy for the wonderful gift you both are about to give away! You are both amazing 👏❤️! Take care, love from me to you both and to the viewers! Loving pats to little Rose too 🐶, Susanne.
Special wishes to you Miss Jennifer, Mr. Steve, and little rose (just like powered sugar). Love watching, learning and being inspired by you, I am a subscriber and a member on you channel. So joyful to see you working together as a team in your marriage and your business of creativity. Yes I would love to win this contest of Prisma premier colors. I have ovarian Cancer IIIC and these gifts would go the longest way to cheerfully be lifting and a Coloring Bliss!
Amazingly Awesome! congratulations to the winner.. I’m So glad yo love he Prismacolor premier Colored pencils.. I had bought different pencils along the way, but couldn’t find any like them. Close but not as good.. Oh, I love free sheets. I need your color ways of organizing. I do have the color wheel you show.. I need to use it more. appreciate All you teach us. Both of you..🙏🙏🙏🤟🕊‼️
What a fantastic giveaway I missed! You are one of the few channels I subscribe to and this is a video I should not have missed. I have the 72 set of Prismacolor, hoping your video will help me understand the reasoning of how they are set up etc. I start with the yellow and go from there following the color chart. Let's see now..... Oh! Thanks for all you do for us and I hope NOT to miss the entry time if there is another giveaway to at least register for.
Just finished watching again while putting my Prismacolors in order in their new case. I love how you organize these with the tri-tone sets first, then the color wheel afterward!! I had such a hard time understanding the initial color order. I have the same lovely color wheel that you guys have, and I understand that you guys swatched it out, but I can't get my brain to process the initial starting colors (e.g. chocolate or green before some of the other yellows). Is there a tutorial that explains this? I'm looking forward to learning about it so my eyes don't cross when I put a green or brown in the middle of yellows (lol!). I'm still working on my tri-tone workbook and SO love it - it's super fun to fill out and see the color combos revealed!!! I'm also excited to start on the Prisma Book - love the different combinations (nature, essential, etc.). This is great work y'all! P.S. I'm rooting for your 48 Essentials set from Prismacolor!
Just rec’d my Tri-Tone Workbook. Thank you!!! Love the inspiration and tips you share!!! I am even thinking that a second workbook might be handy to have. I bought the unbound version since I plan to laminate and ring bound certain pages to have handy when I travel to retreats but I think i might like a bound version also. You print on such high quality paper… and I like that … thank you. Prisma SHOULD collaborate with you… most definitely!!!
Awesome video and information. I will do my best to send you a page. We’ve moved and my life is a little hectic. But I will always watch you and have always enjoyed your products. Love to you and Steve.
Thank you for this video Jennifer and Steve, I'm still needing to organize my 520 Burtfuner that I got almost a year ago! 😂 And all my other sets that I have!
Great video! Thank you. Do you like these cases more than the Global Art cases you used to use? What are the advantages of these new cases? Inquiring pencil lovers want to know.
Dear Jennifer, I always watch your videos with a cup of coffee next to me. It’s just fun to watch it. I’m am so happy that you guys made a colourfamily chart! Because those 150 made me a bit dizzy 😵💫 😂 I really hope that you will do it to for other brands 🤩 but I’m aware that is sooo much work. And the 150 numbers with the labelmaker? 🙋♀️ 🤣
Very interesting and helpful video! I have a very small set of Prismacolors so can’t organise it that way. If I win the giveaway I am definitely going to use this video as a guide to organise my Prismas 😍. Thanks Jennifer and Steve for this wonderful video
Hello Jen! Thank you so much for your passion and wisdom that you share. With the try tone method of organizing do you only have the 36 tri tone colors that you provided in the book (36 of the color wheel) or do. You do it for the remaining colors as well?
Can you do a video on the best storage brands. I got a case for my pens and pencils. I got a multi layer single looped one. And the loops were so tight it took over fifteen minutes to get one of them in. And they didn't lay flat. I'm sending it back. But could use some help figuring out the best brand to buy. So if you could do a video on the subject that would be a rel help.
Interesting organisation idea, personally I'm not a fan of prismas the price of them in Australia is astronomical so affordability is out the window and unfortunately the quality is lacking I spend more time sharpening the pencils than using them I really want to love these pencils but however they don't love me , I always enjoy your videos keep on posting and colouring 😊
So would you change your organizing order according to your project? Isn't that a lot of work to change the order of your entire collection for each colouring project?
Where is this Prismacolor color order chart, I have looked everywhere on your website & can only find the page with printing on it. Am I missing something?
The two new purples aren't really new. They're replacements for lavender and lilac, which have been discontinued. I believe it was because they had to change the source of the pigment.
Say that keeping your hands busy helps you to concentrate on what someone is saying. I find that with knitting. I can't sit still and not have my hands doing something, or I get anxious, especially when I'm out.
@@Art_by_Nicole You're right. It just seemed strange to me. I don't recall ever seeing someone color, crochet, or knit in church. But things were different back then. I guess as long as someone shows up that's all that matters.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I recently got a 480 capacity pencil case & organized all my colored pencils (filled almost to full capacity) by color wheel method and it's so wonderful & much easier to find the pencils I need for each project! This video confirms I did it right ...YAY! 🤸😁 The tri tones system is a fabulous idea! Going to check out the Tri Tone work book on your website ❤

You look beautiful Jennifer 🥰 Your makeup is always done beautifully, but your eye makeup in this video is very pretty

Thoughts and prayers to ya, Jennifer ❤. from Ohio
On the back of the box it says PC1022 (Mediterranean Blue) replaced with PC1077 (Colorless Blender). I guess we need to buy 1022 open stock.
Where is this Prismacolor color order chart, I have looked everywhere on your website & can only find the page with printing on it. Am I missing something?
Why are you putting greys and browns into the different colors? Wouldn't they all be organized together?

Which are the 2 new prismas in 2023
What do you say if someone sees you coloring in church and ask you why when you should be listening to the sermon? I'm just curious.
Say that keeping your hands busy helps you to concentrate on what someone is saying. I find that with knitting. I can't sit still and not have my hands doing something, or I get anxious, especially when I'm out.
Why would a person couldn’t be able to listen and do something at the same time? ;-)
I would asked them why they are so worried about what I am doing instead of listening to the sermon.

Makes sense. My grandmother always said, "idol hands are the devil's playground." I think she meant while watching t.v.😁💜
