I have this tent and used it when I had a problem with my larger Coleman. Two observations - 1) in cool weather, it retains heat quite well. The reflective fly kept me nice and warm with no cover ontop of me, but really felt the chill as soon as I got out of the tent in the morning (big difference in temperature!). 2) The blackout fabric is very effective - keeping a light on in the tent does not attract various bugs outside the tent. This tent was a godsend for me when the big tent had a failure, and I bring it always as a backup when I car camp (I usually go for a week).
Great tent, i used mine this week motorcycle camping and it packs down a bit smaller than in your vid which is a bonus. Good quality feel to the material and a roomy feel inside which was good. I attached the Quechua Large tarp to it for some living area and yeah very pleased. Will be using it a lot over coming months in UK weather.
I love this tent, easy and genuinely so brilliant at night, but after two weekends of sitting in the pitch darkness with a headtorch during the light evenings or even in the morning, because it is raining outside, I'm now looking for a new tent. It needs a window for when you don't want it to be dark! If you open the door to get light in you get wet cos of the design so it is useless in UK weather when you might well spend time in your tent during the day. If you are somewhere where rain isn't an issue then this tent is awesome. Been shopping around for a porch extender so I can leave the door open when it rains and get some light but they don't seem to do them. New tent it is...!
I use the 3person regular dome version I just use in summer keeps so cool inside even during hot days, much better than a normal tent anyway, however yeah I have another with a porch if it’s it’s likely to rain a lot or take a tarp to give extra dry space in front of the door. Definitely a hot weather tent though with the airy mesh inner.
i just saw an ad for this tent and it peaked my curiosity. i own a pop up tent with the same black out technology and while the heat resisting part has its limit, it does help me sleep in at festivals. just remember to bring a flashlight because its sometimes hard to find stuff even mid day with the door open. the tent i own has been practically flawless at keeping the inside dry as well so i trust the brand in that regard. the thing i find apealing about this tent is the form factor when its folded since the large disc my tent folds into takes up an impractical amount of space.
it is a good tent, but it is more fragile than a normal one : the two umbrellas inside the fabric must be protected from drops, bangs and pressure, else you end up, pretty much like with an umbrella, with a bent or broken rib, or a jammed mecanism that is difficult to repair. oh, and it's heavy. Good for a motorcycle or a car, not so for a bicycle or on foot. this is why I got the trekking version of their black tent. that said, Decathlon did a good job at trying something new.
"But sometimes you don't", I completely agree, yes we're out here to enjoy nature and tackle trails. . .but I can't do that efficiently if I'm waking up at the crack of dawn sometimes. Great review🤙 , hoping Decathlon will make a slightly larger version of this tent for 2-3 or 2-4 persons
We've had another F&B tent before and they're really awesome regarding light & temperature reflection. At a festival with 31°C outside temperature it felt cooler inside the tent than outside 😎 We sold it to a friend, because it was not the right measure to us but we will definitely get another one.
the fresh & black series literally is fresh during summer i have the fresh and black 2 person tent and yes it was fresh inside this august 2020 at noon and it's freaking dark at night, i literally had to put a little flashlight under my pillow!! XD
Just got it today there is small spaces outside for boots. 2 doors allows a breeze to pass through. Blackout is great. For sleeping 2, cots world be better for storage underneath. Perfect for a motorbike if you get a drybag or binbag. I went with a 90L eurohike transit bag for £42 from blacks
It's a near perfect motorbike camping tent. could do with more ventilation in the roof though. It has flaps for airflow, but there isn't any meshing directly in the inner roof, would be good if there was a zip or something to open it up for colder weather camping where you don't want to leave the vestibules open.
I recently bought one 2-sec Decathalon tent. I motorcycle tour and camp and do a tent set up and tear down almost daily. I need fast and easy ...........cause that Shtuff gets old real quick.
Just a general observation. Your channel has so much good content presented in a fun and educational way. It seems that you should be getting a lot more views. I find that on my channel I can never predict which video will spike and which ones will just get a few hundred views. I’m betting you feel the same way. This tent video has over 174,000 views as of this comment. It’s a good video but you have many more at least as good. Anyhow……. Keep up the great work! New subscriber here!
Not that we're aware of. But we've never had them accidentally collapse on us, so there's that. But we also don't have unruly children with sticky fingers, so if that's what the issue is...can't help you there! 😂
Wanted to buy this tent last year but price now increased by 50% in one year. Price gouging. Blame it on covid lol they literally did when I emailed to complain. It was 199 now it’s 299
We definitely got some wind while beach camping with it! And we only experienced minor give and bowing. As for rain, it’s often hard to catch here in Texas, but I have no doubt it will perform admirably as that’s some heavy duty fabric it’s made of!
quick question: if i were to buy this tent, and survive in the wildernis in ukraine, the possibility of the russians dropping an nuclear bomb on my head is great. How well will this tent protect me against the nuclear fallout?? asking for a friend.

So, is it comfy to carry in a motorcycle road trip?
@@Libbie.Bullemor yes just used it again in Scotland in the rain and the speed of pitching and taking down is s real bonus.
how is it with 2 adults + gear though, backpack, shoes
@@GadgetsGearCoffee too small for 2 people and gear I would say. A 3 man would be better.
thanks for this was literally looking to do the same thing with the tarp setup also!

They make the same tent without the blackout feature, and its a bit cheaper as well.

They make an awning that attaches to it, so you can leave the door open...
I use a lightweight hunting beanie for my sleep mask. Keeps my head warm in cool weather and covers my eyes for light. Stays with me all night.
I also opt for the beanie-over-the-eyes trick in cool weather!

Thanks for the kind words! We'd love to see a 4-person, too!
Hey Chris, Decathlon recently* pitched a 3 person version of this if you're still interested! (*at least in Germany)

@@lisagely4617 Oh awesome, thanks for letting me know! As usual with their products the 1-2 and 2-3 person pop-up tents are sold out 🙃

The 2 Second Easy Fresh awning as transformed this already amazing tent. check it out if you own this tent already.
I love this tent. The only downside its that its heavy at 5kg.
These hands have a life of their own😊
Did you ever test/report back on the heat resistance of this tent, please?
It does seem to keep the interior a bit cooler on sunny days!
Hi, great review 😊 would you post a summer review for this tent? Regards from Chile
Bought one yesterday ❤
Nice! Enjoy!
Is it small or no?
Now do a low-weight version for 1-2 persons for stealth bike camping
Low weight means weak poles, just see how much a cheap weak umbrella will last you in the wind.

Thanks!
I was looking at this particular tent and the way you describe it is perfect Had to watch it twice because you mesmerised me the first time ☺
Would have been nice to see more of the inside space and how 2 people + gear fit in there - great review otherwise :)
i just bought it today... 2 person can very comfortably sleep if u r not over 6 feet. 3 slim persons can also adjust..
I wish i saw it before i bought mine, much more efficient
Bought today. Will See on the Weekend 😅

Just bought the 3/4 person tent hopefully it’s awesome for camping/fishing this weekend. Great vid 👍
Didn't think they made this model in 3 or 4 person?
Wow this is a must have
It's a pretty sweet tent!
Great review! I was really curious about this tent and I bought it because of your video. I'm looking forward to my weekend trip in July 2022 🥰

What is the weight when its all packed in ?? Is it suitable for hiking ???

Can’t you get this tent in different colours ? As I’m sure the light colour attracts flies at night ?
Nice video, nice energy. Good information.

while you are sleeping inside maybe some lamer press the button who knows :) i think thats the only disadvantage of this tent.

That's what i thought too. People are sadistic these days.
hahaha .. only your buddy can do that if you are sleeping more than him.
