      One major problem: only the quechua products have a bathtub style tarp floor. In a hard rain water is going to run right into ALL OF THE TENTS except for the QUECHUA PRODUCTS.

      @@powerguymark Hey Mark! Thanks for the input 😊 Actually, after I did the rain test on the Wawona (which doesn't have a tub floor), I realized that it's not always the key feature to have a tub floor IF the seams are sealed 😉

      @@CampingGuidance Do you have aby exoerince with a "front runner pop up tent? Also, how cold of a weather can you camp in these pop up tents and how long have you had your tent for? P.S. keep making these vids!

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much Sukhpree, I'll do my best to keep making these vids :) I just googled front runner pop up tent haha. It seems to be a brand, and works the same way as the Coleman pop up tent I think. I don't have experience with it though.
      Also, I don't camp in the off-season, only in summer, so sorry about that. But for cold weather camping, you'd be better off with less mesh to keep the heat in, so the best pick might be the regular Quechua tent with quite little mesh. But I didn't test these tents in cold weather though.
      I've had my Teton Sports and Coleman tents for about 2 years now, and the Quechua tents for longer than that. I can't remember the exact date, but maybe 4 years or so? Hope this helps :)

    I picked up my Quechua 3 person popup during a clearance sale and have been loving the easy setup and space, but have definitely found it to be a little warmer than I'd like with the limited ventilation. I've been looking at the Fresh & Black version, but also noticed the newer 2 Second Easy line with a similar pop up mechanism to the Teton. If you ever got a chance, I'd love to see your reviews on the 2 Second Easy and 2SE Fresh & Black!

The Fresh & Black definitely has more ventilation than the regular version, but yes I totally agree the easy set up and space is nice :) And thanks for letting me know about the newer 2 Seconds Easy line! I actually saw it a little while before I put out this video, but unfortunately I'm out of funds (I buy all my own tents) at the moment, so I couldn't afford to pick it up :( I definitely want to some time in the future though! It looks like a nice upgrade, and the packed size is a lot more convenient too haha

I hauled one on my motorcycle and it was a bish to get strapped down its a large 2ft disk.. just awkward, the teeton looks Ok but its not a toss in th air style, pretty cools but they weight significantly more and teh teeton 2 person is the packaged size of an 8 man I have... My 1 person Teton has developed some drawbacks after 3 years use. 1. the screens tend to snap on items...like velcro and may soon rip. 2. In rainy conditions the floor will leak with a ground sheet and the limited tie-downs allow rain to penetrate at the bottom edges of the tent. The single door entry zipper almost always jams unless you use two hands to close it. 4. The single also has very limited head room as it highest point is off to one side and I can't sit up without hitting my head on the screen. 5. Because the ends are so low, it feels claustrophobic with my head at either end.
    Positives: Super fast take down and set up. Very comfortable when used on the Teton or Cabelas XXL cot.
    Finally, the 2P has addressed many of these problems and I'd consider it for my next purchase, but I do like the speed and size of the Coleman 4 person. Maybe a yearly shot of Scotch-guard is all it needs to deal with the rain issue.

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  2 года назад +1

      @Van Isle Rider Thank you so much for sharing! Appreciate the insight after your 3 years of thorough use. :) I agree that the 1P can really feel quite claustrophobic. It was just nice for me but it's because I'm pretty short haha. The 2P is definitely better for sure :) I think you might need quite a bit of scotch-guard with the Coleman 4P though, but the speed and size is nice for sure!

    I wasn’t even aware of all of these quick tent options before this video. I picked up a Teton vista one this spring and absolutely love it so far. I would be curious of your take on the cot system and the larger rain fly for that system. It adds a lot of weight to the tent system and would only be ideal for car camping but the storage for gear under the cot is a bonus for longer durations.

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  2 года назад

      @G. Funk Thank you for sharing! I'm glad you've been liking the Teton Vista One, it's a really good tent! Unfortunately I'm a little short on funds at the moment (as I buy all my gear myself), so I haven't been able to pick up the cot and the larger rainfly, but it's definitely on my to-buy list for the future! I think you've hit the nail on the head though. Pros would be more storage under the cot, better rain protection because the rainfly covers the entire tent (instead of leaving a small gap), and better for folks who don't like sleeping too close to the ground. The only cons I can think of are the weight and price.

    • @FUNKRUBICON
      @FUNKRUBICON 2 года назад

      @@tanimal3964 Oh wow that's a really great price! It'll last a few years with some care :) With pop up and instant tents, it's just really important to follow instructions and not force the tent. I hope you have a great time camping in it! Oh yeah after a year or two in storage, the seam taping can really wear off, so do check that. If you buy it brand new from Decathlon, it should be no problem.

    Hot diggity dog!!!! I thought the first video I watched was awesome but you really do great work on all of them. I'm betting your watch % is well above average too as it is difficult to not watch the complete video without feeling you've missed something. I'm pretty sure that the partial watch statistics are just us going back and trying to catch all the info you placed into the videos. I've purchased a few tents but still couldn't tell all the info about them.

      Hi Jimmy, thank you so much! I'm really glad that you liked the video 😊 I actually don't do motorcycle or bike packing, but I think the Teton Sports Quick Tents might be your best bet. They're more of a rectangular packed shape, while the rest of my pop up tents have these huge circular packed sizes. But even so, the Teton Sports Quick Tents have bigger packed sizes than regular tents. So for motorcycle packing, I'd recommend that you go with a regular tent instead of a pop up tent to save on space. I hope this helps! 😊

    Good job. As well as the overall score I feel like you should display the average price. I'm not surprised the quechua 2P is a good tent, the first version was released 17 years ago now (time flies) and I dont think any tent has been tested as much : I think almost every french has slept in one ^^ You're right they're surprinsingly weather resistant considering their price. Unfortunatly they're more bulky than they used to be, decathlon realized even with the best instructions some people were still struggling to fold it back. I also feel like they're way more expensive (inflation included) but maybe I'm wrong.

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  2 года назад

      Thank you so much TT! And thanks for the feedback too! Sadly because I'm an Amazon affiliate, one of their terms and conditions is that we shouldn't list the price. This is because the prices on Amazon tend to fluctuate a bit, so they don't want us giving the wrong info to consumers. So just to be safe, I decided to no longer list prices in my videos. So sorry about that :( And wow I actually never knew that the first version of the Quechua 2P was released 17 years ago! That's so interesting to know 😊 I hadn't even started camping back then, time really flies! And yeah they're really quite bulky and not always easy to fold, but I think that's why Decathlon released the new Easy tent that's a bit more like the Teton Sports in terms of setting up and folding.

    • @tt-of4xv
      @tt-of4xv 2 года назад

      @@CampingGuidance For the prices maybe you could just tell the RSP which is given by the manufacturer. So quite unbiased. Yes you have the easy but even before that the standard version had no colored clips and no "folding cord" to pull. It was even quicker to fold without those but it was better to have someone showing you how it's done once.

      @@Popcornbeetle Thanks for the reply! 😊 Hahaha yes the variation in temperature is only a few degrees, but when camping and sleeping outside, a few degrees can make a whole lot of difference! I typically like camping from around November to around February, it's usually cooler than the other months, especially at night. I guess you can consider Sept-Dec in a way 'off-season' although we only have one season here hahaha! Typically the most common campsites here are near the beaches, I've been to East Coast Park and Pasir Ris Park (there's also West Coast Park, which I've never been to). You can also head to Pulau Ubin (you can reach there by boat), or even Malaysia for camping. The camping here isn't great IMO, so I'm thinking of making trips once a year to other countries to go camping! I'm starting with Nepal next year, and hopefully if my budget allows, I'd get to go overseas more often hahaha. I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed the food, and that the locals are friendly! 😊😊
