Strange that the Jaguars went 15-0 vs. the rest of the NFL, but 0-3 against the Titans. A week earlier the Jaguars won the most lopsided playoff game over the last 80 years, beating the Dolphins 62-7 in Dan Marino's final NFL game.

1999 was the wildest, wackiest season in recent memory.
No San Francisco, Dallas, Green Bay, Denver , Pittsburgh. Etc

Bucs and Jags no surprise, they were having good seasons the years before. Rams and Titans clicked that season, but were forming the backbone of the squads during the 2, 3 seasons before

@@InYourHouse316 I cannot make a serious evaluation, too young to have seen either in depth. I tend to agree though, 2002 was great but their work was cut out on the Super Bowl, since Bill Callahan did not make a change regarding the Jon Gruden offense of the years before.
Since Jon was in TB, he handed Monte Kiffin the proverbial keys to his own kingdom.
2002 was awesome, but in 99 the core was much of the same (I think) with the players better physically and truly reaching their peak

LONG LIVE THE AFC CENTRAL. Thank you for the upload. Loved those Jeff Fisher/McNair Titans squads from 1999 to 2003. Thinking back, it was pretty remarkable how Tennessee went from NFL nomads via the Houston Oilers to AFC champs in such a short time frame. As for the Jaguars, this was their best team in franchise history, and they haven't had a team as good since. Just couldn't get past Tennessee despite going 14-2. Bonkers. I even think this team was better talent wise than the two Giants teams that Coughlin fielded that won Super Bowls. Obviously, talent doesn't always win out.

I grew up a Bronco fan in the 90s, so when the Jags pulled one of the greatest upsets in history to beat the #1 seed Broncos we all thought, this little expansion team isn't even on our level. It only reaffirmed that position in '97 when I felt like the eventual champion Broncos curbstomped them in the Wild Card. In retrospect, those were some damned good Jags teams. In the 1997 playoffs, they almost came back to beat Denver. And in '99, they only lost to one team all year--a smashmouth team, much like the 97-98 Broncos. They were a great mix of young Turks and crafty vets, and I'm not as bitter about the 1996 Broncos losing to them. They didn't take Jacksonville seriously either, and like the old boxing adage says, that's when an opponent is a serious threat.

For wildcard weekend can you do Bills vs Dolphins 92 AFC Championship Game which was unfortunately Dan Marino final Conference Game appearance. 49ers vs Seahawks 13 NFC Championship Game aka Richard Sherman's " Don't you ever talk about me" rant lol. Do either 93 Vikings vs Giants Wildcard Round which was LT and Phil Simms final playoff win of their careers or the 97 Wildcard Game with Vikings and Giants with the infamous Giants fight on their sidelines

As a Titans fan, this is one of my favorite games of all time. But looking back, I forgot how many turnovers by both teams were in this game (even 2 on one play). McNair was incredible this game, as was the defense. I still am dreaming of an AFC Championship game in Nashville after being denied too many times (especially the 3 times they were the #1 AFC seed).

I was 9 when this game was played but looking at these highlights closely it really looks as if Jacksonville gave this game away. Not taking anything away from McNair at all (R.I.P) but they had him several times & showed no effort to tackle him

That 99 Jaguars team was so talented. Mark Brunell, Fred Taylor, Tony Baccelli, Jimmy Smith were among the most underrated all time to play their positions. They absolutely annihilated Jimmie Johnson and Dan Marino’s dolphins the week before in what would be Marino’s final game played and Jimmie Johnson’s final game coached. I was actually rooting for Jacksonville to get to the Super Bowl because I thought them against the Rams would’ve been an excellent Super Bowl from an entertainment standpoint. But as great of a team as you are, some teams just simply have your number, and that of course was tough, resilient Tennessee Titans led by the late great Steve McNair and Eddie George.

This team reflected the demeanor of its coach. Talented but extremely uptight and stiff. Even though this was technically Coughlin's best season, it may have been his worst coaching job. He micromanaged everything including adding offensive play calling duties to his domain. As a result, he slowly snuffed the life out of the team. This game began a long slide into mediocrity due to injury/salary cap hell.

Man, the Jags could have had a bigger lead without a couple drops and an INT in the end zone...could have been up 24-7 and 24-10 at halftime.......made a huge difference in the game obviously. Steve McNair, my god, how many times did he get away and make a play. Jags fell apart in the second half with mistakes.
