Time for part two!
In this weeks video we continue our campervan road trip from Bath to the coast of Portugal.

As a native of Portugal, I can only say that you and the likes of you are most welcome here.
The root-cause of you guys feeling so good and peaceful in that Algarve villa that was so hard to define is the high vibration of the place. Surely not its entirety, but many many places in the Algarve and some of the southwest coast ☀️👙⛱beach🏊🏼♂️☀️ villages like Zambujeira and, you guessed it, Porto Covo, are naturally 7D, like Fátima. That’s why people feel in Paradise, in Heaven, in these places and don’t want to leave. That’s also the reason everything is so 🤩beautiful and people have a natural tendency to preserve it. Furthermore, there’s this excepcional legal status of Protected Landscape in Portugal so you don’t see high buildings on the cliffs or shore like you do in Miami or Brasil or Spain.
And this, my friends, is one of the things that make Portugal and its people really special.
And that’s why I say to you guys and the likes of you welcome. Other types do not last long here as they cannot appreciate it and go back to the rubbish they enjoy. Good riddance to them!

Let me congratulate you on your resolve to get the camper fixed,I would have sent it home on the back truck,you should be really proud of your self,I bought a small bit of land in central Portugal in 2018 which I plan to camp on in the summers,have a look at central Portugal around arganil,it’s so untouched,after visiting 154 countries Portugal in one of my top 5,take care happy travels

Portugal is a great country to leave if you have streams of income, as you point out. I did the moving the other way around a couple of years ago... but yes, the sun, the beach, the food, most of the people.... is hard to beat it.

We feel so lucky we have retired to Tavira on the eastern Algarve. It's the best thing we ever did it is a fabulous place so chilled out, fabulous weather, friendly locals and the food /wine is fabulous. We never want to go back to the UK .

And being a resident of Portugal also means being a taxpayer of Portugal. Taxes are higher than in UK, and they have a lot more of them too. That's how they pay for the good healthcare, education, security, social services, RUclipsrs praise so much.

You'll have to declare all your world income in Portugal and pay (at least) 20% tax on it, with the NHR status discount. Higher if you don't get the NHR status. You could be taxed twice on some types of income, once in UK and than in Portugal if tax on same income is higher there than in UK.
Portugal is trying to attract immigrants to come and settle because they need to grow the population and have more people to pay taxes and keep the good quality of life. If they increase the number of taxpayers they'll be able to decrease taxes, a little...!
On the plus side... families are the ideal candidates Portugal is after, young children will speak the lingo and will pay taxes too, soonish... so you already have 50 points in your favour.
And the old, Portuguese little @donnacosta5633 is, as always, trying her best to 'educate' people on YT. What a joke!

Guys, love your videos. Happy that you enjoyed your time in Portugal. There are a few lovely areas you might enjoy. The Doura river valley. The nature, the weather! Fantastic. Setúbal as well. It’s on a cost line and 1h drive from Lisbon.

Lmao… did that trip in a volkswagen camper bus with the pop up in 1978 . We went across the USA from the east coast to California with a 3 year old. Was the best trip ever !

The children are at an age where will be so easy for them to adapt and learn a new language. Put them in a public school, they have special Portuguese classes, they have so many foreign students

Rent it out? Can i suggest that you do a trail run for about a year before you commit to living abroad. What an experience! However… adversity and coming out the other end is what makes us grow! We made the decision before Brexit to move here, and glad we did. But! There is always a but. You have to trade off lots of things to live here, but you will find that out, and become better people by doing so 👍

The portuguese government has anounced this week that the NHR status will be abbolished in 2024, so no more tax discounts. Folks that are already enrolled in the NHR will continue in the programme.
Everyone else will have to pay "portuguese taxes".
And while the NHR scheme is scrapped in Portugal, the "Beckham Law" has just been revised in Spain.
Spain, here we come!...
