I haven’t watched you guys in a couple of years, I kind of fell off the RUclips wagon. This is the first video I saw of yours on return. Beautiful, but very sad. Im so sorry for your loss. Thank you for always remaining true to yourself.

    Hi Stef and Hannah 👋
I've been watching since Grayson was born but am never usually a commenter! I'm a primary school teacher and recently read a story called 'The Invisible String' to my class. It was so lovely and talks about how even if we aren't physically with somebody we are still connected by an 'invisible string'. Just thought it might be a nice way of explaining to the boys that even though their Grandad has passed they are still connected! Just thought I would mention it 🥰

On a deep level, you comforted me, Stef. I lost my dad last year.He wasn’t ready, so wasn’t I, and I had to take on where he left off with my mother. Caring for her was the hardest. He was with me, comforting me in those initial days. Now he’s just around, sometimes I hear him chatter, sometimes just move about, smile, work, sometimes he’s the crow which eats a biscuit from my hand each day.

Holding on to things is about loss ..
Agree that the spirit of someone lives on within you but the clarity of them fades with time. My Father passed away 41 years ago when i was a teenager. Good to see you back always, from a Brit in bloody freezing Toronto.

This was truly so very beautiful. In May of 2015, my amazing dad was diagnosed with Late Onset Dementia. Sadly, on July 27, 2015, he took his own life. He found his peace that day. I took care of my beautiful mom for almost 2 years and on Feb. 25, 2017, she dies at home surrounded by all of her kids, sister and grandkids. She was now with my dad, again. My parents were the best...my childhood and adulthood has been such a beautiful gift, because of them. I see and feel my mom and dad around me, every single day. The wind blowing against my face. A male and female Cardinal in the tree. A night sky full of stars. I take each of those in so deeply. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with us and your amazing videos, which are like watching a short film. Hugs to you all ❤

I deeply relate to what you’ve shared about losing someone, and I think Mary Elisabeth Frye did too when she wrote:
“Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.”
    thanks for the video!

I paused at 12:11 listening to Stef's beautiful reframe of presence in loss and I just wanted to say Thank you, Stef... and Hannah too because you've always held your own loss in a very delicate way that always felt very human to me. I always end up on your videos when I need them whether or not the tone or mood is directly related to me and I think that's what connection really is. You find what you need when you need it. Your dad and my dad (and everything in-between) brought us to this point where I'm typing this too long comment... Anyway, thanks. xx

Ummmm dude! That video made me cry and laugh, but mostly cry! The boys dancing was so beautiful. You and your sister at your dad's... far out. My mum died two years ago and I do agree with you that she isn't really gone. It is very hard though. I had to go through my sister's things when she died in 2012. I put it off for six months. I was so glad when it was over though. Sending hugs.

You are absolutely right. Everything is a game. A con. It's all driven by capitalism. We are encouraged to be part of the game by credit scores, ownership of certain things. And you will note that the content creators that live lux and encourage the acquisition of luxury items and homes are the ones who are being paid the most as content creators.
I refuse to engage with any of it. Lux items are still things. They are just expensive things. I have enough stuff!

I used to watch your channel a lot and I remember your dad. He seemed really lovely. I just thought of ya'll today and so I thought I would check-in. My dad passed away last year too which was really tough. It's so funny because I was watching "About Time" and the dad dies in that film as well and I was crying like a baby and now I'm here, healing with ya. God has been really instrumental in my healing. Knowing that I have a loving Father at all times. Of course, I still miss my biological dad. I'll be walking down a corridor and think, "Man. I miss him" but yeah, he's also my motivation to better because he used to say, "whatever you're doing, do it well". So doing things wholeheartedly is my way of remembering my dad and "bringing him to life again". Happy healing (for the vast spectrum of days that you will go through). :)
