It has better dial symmetry, no cyclops, and a great movement. Date complications at 3 o clock drive me CRAZY unless they’re color matched, VERY discrete, and do not impact dial symmetry by truncating the 3 o’clock index. The Omega here is also 2-3k USD cheaper and readily available. F Rolex.

My own opinion- the AT has much nicer dials/dial details compared to the Datejust. It is thousands less at retail and far more available. The only hands down spanking the Datejust really gives the AT is the superior bracelet and clasp designs

@@BruceWilliamsdon’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of rolex at all, mainly based on the availability snobbery they do / price for what you get / that the design in my opinion is not to my liking and old fashioned. I love omega their movements etc and own the aqua terra black teak dial, but the wearability / comfort is getting to me so much I’m considering selling it for something else. Is the height and more importantly weight of the watch along with the bracelet it is just not comfortable, and trying lighter bracelets exacerbates how heavy the watch is. At the end of the day if it is not comfortable are you going to wear it ??? …. Is where my question ultimately leads …regardless of looks and technical prowess.

I tried this on at the AD and it’s perfect.
My options were between this, smp 300, and tudor bb58 burgandy
Honestly the burgandy tudor was meh, and I’m a huge red person.

I bought my first luxury watch in2023. It was an Aqua Terra blue dial. I found it top heavy, lume was subpar , its clasp was not good. Come on $6200 and no T-fit glide lock. I then bought a day just smooth bezel mint green dial oyster bracelet and it fits perfectly. I won’t sell my Aqua Terra as it was my first luxury purchase. I changed the bracelet to a Artem strap with a deployment clasp blue with white stitching. It looks perfect. My wife uses it. lol.

I kinda wished that the new bracelet had a milled clasp with a quick adjustment similar to the SM300 Heritage. Also, I think there should be a bit more lume on the hands on the AT + the hour hand should have the broad arrow instead of the minute hand.

so glad someone did a review of this...the framing of the date window was the only thing missing and now the balance to the dial is complete and it looks amazing. Wish they added the framed date window to the teak dial versions. Strange to compare it against a DD YG bracelet..hard to see the value proposition when not comparing steel to steel for the price and at $40k the DD could be seen as not a great deal hence it selling on the secondary for a discount.

No. They would need to come up with a better clasp and micro adjustment to start but to be quite honest as much as I love the watch it just doesn’t feel as significant as the DJ. They need to design a new clasp with micro adjust and boost the power reserve to start.

I don't get the love for butterfly clasps and I know that is just me. A standard clasp with microadjust would be preferable, but not a deal breaker. The second would be all the polish. With all the polish, to me, it excludes it from being the GADA type of watch it could be. Is it a deal breaker? No, but it does mean that I wouldn't wear it as much as I would want for fear of it getting all scratched up. But overall very good offering.

It’s a beautiful watch and an Aqua Terra I would like to buy myself but once again it’s just a tarted up old model with a different dial colour with an old movement. The part brushed bracelet doesn’t match the fully polished watch head which looks odd too. Brushed lugs or sides would have balanced things out better. What exactly have Omega been doing for the last 5 to 7 years 🤔 the Seamaster and plant ocean desperately need a huge overhaul especially in the shockingly bad bezel action department and awful thickness and bracelet department too. They’ve ramped up the prices but they haven’t ramped up quality or refinement hardly at all.

The band has good one-way articulation and it wears VERY comfortably on my 6.25" wrist. I'm happy to say that this one is keeping good time. The crown is a good size and easy to operate and I love the look of the dial and the domed mineral.
    The Okay:
The clasp is pressed and feels a little on the cheap side. The seconds hand does not align with the markers at all.
    The Bad:
Lume is... present. It exists. But doesn't get very bright at all even after direct exposure to sunlight. And it QUICKLY fades after a few minutes indoors. Pretty disappointing. The bezel: ugh. This is the biggest bummer of the watch, honestly. It's a friction, bi-directional bezel with almost no friction. Reaching into your pocket to grab your phone or keys can turn this thing SO easily. I’m on the lookout for mods that will add more friction. Right now, I have a piece of dental floss under the bezel which improved it but still… bleh. Probably gonna sell this thing at the end of the day lol

I think the way they did the micro adjust is half baked and looks really ugly.

Lovely but I'll stick with my lump of a 8900 PO 😊

prefer a quick set date than the hour skipping feature. Changing date is too much of a hassle

Beautiful watch, but I think just way too polished. A brushed case with their polished knurled lugs (Omega’s more traditional style) with a fully brushed bracelet would make this amazing. While we’re at it, implementing a fold over clasp with better quick adjust options would make this the ultimate timepiece. Sometimes I wonder why watch companies get so much right, yet flub key details.
