If you're in the market for your first real luxury watch and looking for something with everyday versatility and durability, there is a relatively long list of options from major watch brands and even a few charming independents. However, for me, the Omega Aqua Terra is a watch that should be at or near the top of your list if you're looking for a "one and done" luxury watch for everyday wear. In this video, we'll go in depth with the modern Aqua Terra in a 41mm variant with a striking green dial to examine what it is that makes this watch so high on my list.

My wife bought mine for my 60th birthday last year.
41mm Grey face with blue hands and i wear it every day but not to work.
(Doesn't go with a hi-viz and steel toecaps!)
Makes me smile and feel special every time i put it on.
Happy me!
Just bought the 38mm Aqua Terra in Blue. Love the watch, I crack a smile every time I check my wrist 🙂
Yes! Goodjob.
How do you like the 38mm? I have smaller wrists and think this would be perfect.
@@lesgrossman9492 it fits perfectly! I have small wrists too (6.5 inches in circumference and ~52mm in diameter)
Hi,
Do you reckon the 41 would be too big on your wrist? I have the same wrist size. Does the 38 wear small?
@@abdulahdeen I just tried them both on. I thought the 38 was a tad small for me. I ordered the 41.
38.5mm with blue dial is my daily, it truly works perfectly with my lifestyle. wear it to the office, wear out socially, wear it on the boat/beach...
I like how the sub40 sizes are making a comeback. What wrist size are u?
Had both 38.5mm blue and grey. Kept the grey and flipped the blue for profits.
I should have mine this week. Just waiting for it to arrive.
@@blackwood3243 Congrats yo! It's an awesome piece.
I've got the Skyfall era. Love mine too.
Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Yes, it is indeed. So lovely. And suited for different wrist sizes with the different diameters available.
Better than the explorer? Very close price points on both.
@@yasarmo personally, I'd say yes. It's a great watch, but in my opinion a little bland in comparison. And frankly, I prefer Omega's image over Rolex.
@@yasarmo I think the AT is better but the Rolex brand is a powerful name. The Explorer would not be for me but price wise the OP compares and I think that would be a hard one for me.
I didn’t think much of the aqua but when you see it in person it is very nice.
Not sure where you are based but the price different between the AT and explorer one is £200 in the uk. Being able to buy a explorer though will be impossible.
I bought my Aqua Terra 17 years ago. I wear it almost every day and I love it.
Enjoy it! Have you ever serviced it?
How often do you have it serviced?
It was serviced once about five years ago.
Is it the 2504? I bought a first generation aquaterra a few months ago and it's a beautiful watch.
To my eyes it’s the perfect travel watch. Able to go swimming in it, wear it out to dinner, not worry about magnetism, and switch the hour quickly on the flight… pretty darn great for whatever I might do on vacation.
1000%
Just when I think I don't "need" another watch, you remind us about a classic that really has been right in front of us for a few years now. That green one is so handsome. And to be honest, it's great to see how a watch that has been worn every day still looks fantastic. Great episode as always teddy!
I picked up this same watch today with the grayish/blue dial. Just a simple, clean entry level luxury watch that can be worn in many applications. On a side note, if you plan on buying this and not telling your wife that you’re buying another watch, then beware. It comes in a huge frickin box!
Just got mine today -- 38mm blue dial (although the green was very tempting). In love. Can't stop looking at it. And can't stop watching this video. Thank you for helping me arrive at my decision. This watch is a work of art.
Aside from Aqua Terra being my favourite omega watch. I like the fact that Teddy takes the time to look and comment and like, post to his videos. Many youtubers say like, comment, or discuss and yet you never see them in the comments.
Try my best to stay on top of them but looking at all of them are tough and sometimes not good for mental health haha. Appreciate the support buddy 🙌🏻
Yes it is especially in green. Absolutely in love with mine
100%, it just looks gorgeous in any setting. Definitely prefer the horizontal lines over the vertical ones
I have owned an Aqua Terra Seamaster Co-Axial with smooth silver face (no deck lines) for many years. I wear it every day for every occasion, and it is much admired. It is completely original, and the glass remains unscratched despite much garden working. The Steel bracelet to has never failed; at its (old style|) slide clasp. I have owned many watches in the past; this one is so genuinely tuff! So pleased am I that I even brought my wife the same with Ladies diamond hour positions Seamaster. She is very pleased with it; this too she now wears every day 24/7.
I am thinking about getting AT as my next watch and I've been researching about it for last couple of weeks. This is the video I've been missing from you. Perfect timing.
If I buy an omega, I would get a AT for sure.
What a coincidence, I just made up my mind and pulled the trigger on a Omega Seamaster AT 41mm with black dial, after months of consideration of different models and types of watches. I watched many of your reviews and find them outstanding, you truly makes shopping for watches so much fun, and it sure helped me pick my first luxury watch cause really it comes down to what you like and are going to feel is right to have on your wrist every day. The Omega Seamaster AT checks so many boxes for me. Dressy yet sporty, it sure looks great with everything from a suit to a sail jacket or even running gear or WCT shirt. I love that it has a power reserve of 60h, just enough to be able to take it off on Friday night and put it back on Monday morning, and find it still running! I love that it's water proof to 150m, means I will never have to take it off at the beach when going for a swim (not leaving nosey eyes any chance to lay hands on it). Cause yes it WILL draw attention, given all the shine from all those polished parts on bezel and bracelet. Also the setting of hour hand alone is awesome, very quick way to change date or time zone without stopping the watch. My only "concerns" after one month of owning the 8900 is that it seems to be running a little fast, 4s per day or so. Wonder if this will change over time? I also find that when crown is screwed all the way down, the Omega logo is like 160 degrees rotated (almost up side down). It ends up like that all the time, so must mean there could been a way to always get it lined up correctly, so why not make it oriented that way from manufacturing? Is this same for all ATs? Another thing I noticed is when I gave the crown some 40 twists after it stopped, making it feel more resistant and so at least I thought it was fully winded, it stopped again in less than 24 hours. How much should you really have to turn it to fully tension the main spring? Would really apriciate some answers to these small concerns but still despite them I absolutely love my watch and more so for every day! Thanks Teddy for a great channel 👍
The 38mm version is the perfect size for this watch IMO.
Agree.
I just wish the green came in 38mm. Shame...
@@fullymechanical9055 same
@@fullymechanical9055Yeah, definitely a shame.
Agree. 40mm above is way too big for small wrist
Aqua Terra’s are absolute beauties of watches I will be shocked if I won’t own one in my lifetime even if I can’t afford one now

@Prof. George C. Grasser lmao bruh
@Prof. George C. Grasser tried that I'm texting from my cell
I love it on a blue dial with aqua colored second hand. But this green is so rich too... Love it.
I like the 38mm blue dial
Proud owner of a Blue AT with 8500 cal!!! Such a gorgeous and versatile piece!!
Hoping to join you with that in the next week or so. Beautiful piece.
@@johnnybgood7812 Does the watch plays Chuck Berry when you bought it?
I always felt like this would be the perfect "one watch collection"
Only trouble is which "one" I like this green dial one on the bracelet (with the leather alligator strap alternative). It looks like an elegant sports watch to wear with a suit or smart casual. But I also like the chrome dial with the blue hands and indices on the rubber strap for casual wear, swimming etc.A combo of both would also give the option of wearing either on a shared bracelet, the green on the alligator or the chrome on the rubber. Effectively 4 looks from 2 watches.
This watch with the black dial would do everything you can ask from a watch, unless you’re deep sea diving. It’s perfect.
Bought an Aqua Terra last year. I still smile everytime I look at it. I almost bought a Rolex but I don't like the whole hype around it. People either think it's fake or just braggy. The Aqua Terra is absolutely elegant, understatement and perfect for every occasion!
What size did you go for and colour? I'm on the cusp of buying my first omega i like the blue thus far. How do you like the watch now you've had for a bit?.
@@garyskinner2422 still loving it, almost got the blue dial but I decided to get the black because it just suits everything. got the 42mm
The 41mm aqua terra on rubber was my first ever "luxury" watch and I still absolutely love it. It is my everyday watch and goes with anything. Really great watch and worth the money and more. Love your content Teddy! Keep up the great work!
What color dial did you select?
@@docluv14 I have the white/silver dial with the dark gray and orange stitched rubber strap. Super comfortable and fits everything.
A friend of mine bought the Aqua Terra Ryder Cup Edition! I'm excited to see it in person!
Ooo gotta see that
Just picked up one last weekend, and I can say it deserves the one and done if not-a gateway to the rest of Omega line. This is truly a bang for buck watch-hands down beats Rolex in specs and robustness.
Bought my 42.5 mm AT used a few weeks ago and I love it! Super affordable and Omega quality and service is next level.
I love actually seeing a watch that's been used and seeing how it will wear.
This watch on the Omega rubber strap is absolute perfection. It almost seemed small to me in 38 after trying on the 41. Which I find odd since I tend to prefer smaller watches.
Same here. 38 too small after wearing smp 300
Yes, it is. Since I own an Aquaterra last generation, it's my favorite watch and the most worn in my whole collection. So versatile, reliable, super accurate and with a great design. In my opinion this is one of the very few watches that could be a one piece collection.
I bought mine before I saw this video. Thanks for making me feel awesome. I wasn’t planning on getting any particular model that day, I was still doing research, and pretty frustrated with what’s been going on with Rolex retail, but I couldn’t stop looking at it. It’s taken a lot of patience to get to the point in my life where I can afford a nice watch, and you’re video gives me the confidence to trust my gut. Thanks Teddy. On to the next hunt!
I purchased a 41mm blue dial AT last year and wear it everyday. It’s a great watch that wears well on my wrist and never looks out of place.
Gotta be, always loved the understated yet effortlessly sporty and elegant look of it.
Agreed!

This is the best video for this watch and helped convince me to buy the watch a year ago. Awesome work, the shots on wrist and in close up of the watch are spot on 👌
Purchased a datejust, got home and felt a bit underwhelmed, went back to goldsmiths jewellers next day and swapped it for the AT 41mm and have zero regrets. Sure, its not gone up in value but its gone up in my estimation. It's elegant, contemporary and sporty with a killer movement
I recently made an older 38mm Aqua Terra my one watch collection and couldn't be happier.
I bought the 38.5 mm AT with the vertical teak pattern after seeing your video comparing it to the explorer. Definitely more character to the dial than a OP without any AD/grey market inflation or games ❤️
Surely my next watch. Love the green and the blue one.
The Omega Aqua Terra in green dial is just about the perfect watch. It's so beautiful.
Co-worker just bought one and it is stunning. Really in love with this watch.
This is my first luxury watch. While I considered other Omega styles, I returned to the Aqua Terra, given it elegance, versatility, and of course quality. It wears well with a suit and can be matched with casual attire. The textured rubber strap and a Nato strap work quite well. Teddy, I agree with your assessment!
Which color dial did you select? I’m trying to decide between the black and the green
@@docluv14 I selected blue. If this is your 1st luxury watch, I suggest black over green. If not. Then either color would work.
I bought my 41 mm blue dial last year. I find it simply spectacular
I have a 6.5 inch wrist went with the 41. The 8900 is amazing. The larger dial for me makes it lean a little more sporty, 38 felt more dressy, but all thing being equal in price, I went with the “better” movement. I have three straps, the rubber is probably my favorite but also have a blue snoopy leather and Milanese steel. One rubber, one leather, one steal changes the vibe of the watch.
Totally agree. This may sound crazy but I bought my grail Rolex, put it in my safe, and now I can get a watch like this that I’ll actually wear and use...and it’s better than the safe Queen. Nutty!!
Great review. I love this watch and will be adding one at some point. Also, really nice to see you actually call out Rolex for the games that are being played and that they are allowing to be played instead of just making excuses for them or even denying that the problem exists.
Got the green 41. It is absolutely amazing. A masterpiece.
The aqua terra green looks stunning. To me the dark blue version looks equally as good. Such a beautiful watch. Classy, can wear it dressed up, dressed down, incredible movement etc. The perfect first luxury watch.
Hi Teddy,
Omega Aqua Terra 39, black dial has been my one watch collection since 2014. Great watch, used for every occasion.
Perfect timing. I was just starting my research on buying one!! Awesome video again Teddy!!
Wow. Just picked up the 75th Anniversary Summer Blue 38mm. I had just put my name on the waiting list for an Explorer 36 (they said a year or two lol) - anyway I was strolling down 5th Ave right after doing that and saw this watch in the window. Dang, Omega- you took my Explorer funds how’d ya do that?!! What a gorgeous piece. I usually like big men’s sport models… now I’m sporting a refined, stunning watch - and that summer blue dial is mesmerizing ……
I love the 1st gen Aqua Terra. Set against the later models it has a great vintage vibe. Sure it's only an ETA based COSC movement but you get a much slimmer profile, a perfect 39mm case size & budget friendly price. Can't wait to get mine back from a service at Omega's :)
I’ve been looking at them lately now. I prefer the all brushed bracelet too, don’t like polished center links unless it’s a strictly dress piece. My next piece if I can find one in great condition
Agreed! I bought the 38mm in blue a few weeks ago, and it's very quickly become my favourite watch. People hate on the bracelet's polished centre links, but I like them. It's not the best quality bracelet though, and the clasp and lack of micro adjustment has some room for improvement.
Other than the microsdjust, may I know what makes the bracelet of lower quality? Was contemplating between the rubber and bracelet but still ordered by white 38mm on bracelet in the end
this is a beautiful watch. I went into the omega shop and tried it on and it was gorgeous.
New owner of a 38.5mm Aqua Terra, and literally have worn it everyday since getting it about a month ago. Everytime I look at it, I notice a new detail. Haven't found a place it doesn't fit in. And actually really flies under the radar. Definitely the best go anywhere, do anything luxury watch IMO
Think you’ve nailed it Teddy! I’d go for the 38mm, and it’s a shame Omega don’t (yet!) do it in the green. Looks great on steel or leather, really like the horizontal “teak” pattern to add texture, and moving the date to 6 o’clock is a big improvement.
Couldn't agree more on a couple points. 1) That green really is understated, and I like that. 2) Customer experience is critical. Consumers should expect and demand a good customer experience. In my mind, it doesn't require fancy coffee or salespeople with white gloves. You just need to care about the customer from beginning to end, understand that the custoer is the critical component in each transaction, and act like it. This is one thing that Oris does really well. I even once got a reply to a question from the email of Rolf Studer. Not saying Rolf actually wrote it, but it has his signature. That kind of friendly, approachable touch builds brands. You don't have to wear a crown (u-hem) to treat costumers like they matter. In fact, it might help if you didn't.
Just picked one up today with a grey dial and blue hands and blue accented hour markers. It is simply gorgeous!
Without a doubt the best luxury watch for the money. Own this in the grey dial/ blue rubber/integrated strap, and the finish and attention to detail is unreal for a watch you can get for under $5K. Compared to my 36 Datejust with black face and Roman numerals, I prefer the AT all day and really only use the Datejust on dressier occasions because it’s on a steel bracelet. Big winner here for OMEGA.
I have a classic men's Omega collection with working models from 1929 to 1964. For the age
of watches they excellent time. I just got in a 1938 Men's 23.4 watch. I putting it through its paces. I like the original styling of these watches. Many of these styles are still being used.
One of my rarities is a 1943 18k bumper automatic. It a real gem of a watch.
I don't know if the Aqua-Terra is the only ONE/First luxury watch proposal, cause I think the Railmaster also fits the category/role, though I don't deny that the Aqua-Terra can be dressed up more easily than the Railmaster, I love that the Railmaster can go a bit more under the radar. Amazing video like always Teddy and the Teddy team, keep it up
I got a Rolex Air King rather than a Milgaus for the same reason, prefer brushed bracelet to the bling polished centre links give. Like the Railmaster.
100% agree. It is pure personal perference, but I just like the appearance of the Railmaster more than the AT.
@@rickfanning5647 that layout man is just.... beautiful
Great video and explanation. I went for the Aquaterra GMT 43mm on a black dial. I know it’s a little big, but I can accommodate it in my 7 1/2” wrist. I have other watches that are 43mm and I am comfortable with their sizes. Another reason is that I didn’t wanted a dress watch, I wanted a casual one. For me the Aquaterra is the mother of all watches. I am sorry Oris, I also love you, but I have to compare the Aquaterra with Roberto Clemente. He had so many tools and abilities that he could win a game in a lot of ways, that is also what the Aquaterra does!!! I am stopping my luxury level of watches with Omega, I will not buy a Rolex. I want a watch that reminds me of what I have accomplished with hard work, Omega does it in a good way. I don’t want to be part of a club where people that are right handed holds their glass with their left hands all night so others can see they are wearing a Rolex. I hold the glass with my left hand because I am left handed, I don’t wear a watch to impress others!!!! Aquaterra is the watch the qualifies with nines and tens in all categories!!!! Thank you Teddy!!!!
I just purchased a 38mm from the Omega store at the Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu. I am a first time watch buyer and wanted a nice daily to start my collection. This watch is truly beautiful and I am so happy with the purchase.
I just tried one on today, the Aqua Terra will be my next watch, It certainly can be one and done.
I have had the Blue AT 41MM for 2 months now and it is amazing. It is one of the most under rated watches out there. Great content as usual Teddy!!
I just joined the AT family (41 blue). 🎉🥳
Thanks for this Teddy! I appreciate your opinion on the "scarce therefore valuable" direction a lot of brands seen to be enjoying. It is a short term gain that only hurts the brand in the long run, in my opinion.
Congratulations on 300000 subscribers. I agree with you 100%, that is the Exact same1st luxury watch that I purchased!
Thank you my friend 🙌🏻
I’ve had my 38mm AquaTerra for 11 months now and after about a year it is one of my favorite watches that is probably my most versatile. It works on the bracelet, the metal/rubber strap or the alligator, both on the deployant clasp. Dress it up, dress it down, get it wet - the AT has made me a believer.
It's so beautiful. 38.5mm in blue = perfection for me
Bought my 38mm blue dial two days ago. It's a thing of beauty.
Totally agree. AT covers all bases in style. The only weakness is the clasp. They need to upgrade it to an adjustable clasp like in the Seamaster 300M.
Definitely. Had for 2 years, phenomenal
Teddy can we talk about your b roll game?! YOU ARE KILLING IT! Loved this video! couldn't agree more - absolutely love this watch!
Just bought one! Everyday classic watch with a touch of understated class 👌 👏 nice one Omega !
I think that it's really nice that Omega is moving toward making watches with smaller diameters.
As a dude with tiny wrists I regularly find that most appealing dive / dress hybrid watches are unfortunately large in diameter and personally 39mm with a suitable lug-to-lug width is probably the perfect watch diameter and I like the Omega Seamaster line but there is still some way to go before I'd be looking at one...
This is one of my favorite watches, I think that the Omega brand offers so much value for the money, Rolex could learn a lot from Omega.
What are you talking about? The msrp ranges between rolex and omega are in the same category and rolex offers generally better built products. Saying this as someone who is vvip at omega and not rolex.
Also these watches can be made for 500$. How is that value?
@@antisan MSRP? Who is paying MSRP?

Bought my dad an Aqua Terra with the 8500 movement for his 75th birthday. I agree with all points - so versatile.
Proud owner of the original >15000 gauss bumblebee, and I absolutely love it. That watch gets more attention from others than any other watch in my collection, and it's not even close. It's just a beautiful piece and wears incredibly well.
original >15000 gauss bumblebee😎 Now that is a niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice watch.🤩
Doing all the videos I’ve been wanting to see back to back
Absolute one do it all watch. My father has the watch since 20 years and wears it every day.
I agree with everything and love the watch. The only thing stopping me from buying it is the clasp. If the watch has some sporty attributes , it should have a clasp with micro adjustments like on the Seamaster 300 M . The butterfly clasp is dressier, and sleeker; but two half links is the only fine adjustment you will get on this this other than adding or removing full links.
I LOVE the aquaterra for me it covers all bases. It’s sporty and dressy all the same time on the bracelet. The polished mid links could be an issue overtime but as long as you don’t wear it to do a manual job, small scratches should polish out. I really like the rubber strap also, and the combination of the two give it even more scope for versatility. An excellent movement and an interesting design language just work. The Zenith Defy is a lovely watch but at the side of this it looks like a one trick pony.
Great review Teddy...Had the Milgauss, sold it and now have a Blue 8900 mvt AT. Love it and as you say a permanent all rounder that can be dressed up for Blk tie and down for the trail. Currently I have mine on rubber for summer. It really has it all, GMT functionality, 15k gauss, clear caseback and the list goes on. The Dial is so nice in person...Although I rarely get 2 of the same, that Green is tempting! Thanks again for the content!!
Yea I find myself just getting an aqua Terra as an everyday , because it’s nice , I feel like peoples desire to get a speed master has influenced me to get that , but my heart goes with the aqua Terra it has nice dial color , goes good everywhere .
In Athens on the hunt for my first luxury watch, saw a ton of great options and stopped for a coffee to check out some online reviews before purchasing. This vid pushed me over the edge and I ended up buying this watch and love it! Thanks for the great review!!
The green is certainly a handsome looker. Nice detailed execution on the dial. Good looking open caseback. For the price and availability it’s certainly punching above its weight. One of those do it all pieces. And a refreshing change from say the steel Datejust which is getting rare. I’ve got an old Omega Seamaster which is still going strong after 2 decades. Solid brand can’t go wrong really.
The green is very understated and beautiful in person. Great value. Thanks for Sharing
The previous model was my very first luxury watch. With the gray dial. Absolutely perfect every day watch.
I own this very watch (41mm) with the Blue dial that has a blue accented second hand and lettering. I bought it about a year ago. I own 6 other watches. A Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 along with a Seiko Presage with the circular date complication, a Hamilton Khaki diver (Black dial with the batman bezel), an Orient, and a few other knock-around cheapies, but since I bought the this Omega, I've not worn ANY of my other watches. It's my daily driver and works for all occasions. I LOVE this watch. It IS a one watch collection.
I have this as a 38mm on a blue dial, and also my very first luxury watch. I was wanting an Oyster Perpetual, and was surprised at how hard it is to get one when I went to one Rolex's boutiques. I don't regret my decision, and I love how my Aqua Terra looks and wears! Great review!
These have better movements
My wife just gifted a 38.5 blue dial for my 50th Birthday. Truly amazing watch!
love the green and blue aqua terra! wish they had the green dial in 38mm too :)
If this dial came in 38.5 I’d buy it today
The Aqua Terra is the most beautiful Omega in my opinion
Still wearing your Sinn 556 I see. Very nice 👌
Love the Aqua Terra. I have the Worldtimer and am in love with it. Only wish that the bracelet had a micro adjustment option. That would propel this watch much further in my opinion. I do have the Worldtimer with the bracelet and did buy the rubber strap. The rubber strap really helps the dial pop. I’m sure it would do the same with the regular AT line as well.
I agree, the band is not good. Mine is a tad tight. What kind of rubber strap did you get?
@@jerroldfrank5869 I bought the official Omega rubber strap directly through the boutique. Expensive but I rather not cut corners when spending so much on a watch in the first place. Very happy with it and it has held up very well.

The 41mm Green AT is a banger for sure. Finally was able to find one for a good deal and been wearing it since.
It is easy to assume that your macro shots are provided by the manufacturer when clearly they are not! Excellent work as always. Watching while enjoying my rose gold version.
