- In this video I “install” a black emblem overlay on my 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro steering wheel. What do you guys think? I love it!

That steering wheel emblem overlay should be treated as a rare gem now, since I just went to order one and apparently Toyota gave them a "cease and desist" notification. They now only produce an overlay blank or an AJT logo option.
Yeah, and the AJT designs one are now rather hideous.

So what is the point of changing the key fob?
tilley Schmolph no real purpose other than to enhance the look and feel. It just makes it feel “right”... buying a 50K+ vehicle and having the cheapest feeling fob does sit right with me. It just matches the look and feel of your nice rig.
What happens to the thingy when air bag goes off?
Why don't you make separate videos for accessories? I'm still waiting to see how installed emblems only....

They must have got copy right problems on the overlay because they don't carry the toyota design anymore. I'm definitely getting the red key fob though. Thanks for the video.

@@UntamedMotors I got them 3 months ago. I used to tell you all the time to get them. Back when you did the chrome delete on the center console. My PRO is all blacked out. I have everything your truck has identical. You're truck inspired my truck lol

I did my steering wheel emblem on my 4 Runner. Now I need to find something to blackout my chrome door handles. BTW, I honked my horn like 5 times. Once when a guy was walking by talking on his phone.

Yeah the sombrero overlay on the airbag is not a good idea. That thing will shotgun at your face if airbag is deployed.
The whole center of the steering wheels kicks out. Out of all the normal things (like loose change) and kids toys in the car, this will be the least of my worries.

Can you link where you got the vent ring covers with adhesive? I can only find the click-in ones that require dashboard disassembly

How do you remove the overlay? I just bought a RAV4 with the overlay and I’m not a fan. I don’t know how to remove the overlay without damaging the chrome one underneath.

Tom Bosworth the whole steering wheel cover flies off when it deploys... so shouldn’t be any different there.

I ordered that steering wheel emblem a few days back... look forward to installing it. Already have the vent rings in. No more starring directly at chrome when driving.. haha

They appear to be the same for the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra at least... so chances are in your favor. 🤷🏼
I wonder how the Army Green overlay looks like. Did you think it would look tacky if the emblem was Army Green? I also wonder if you feel the V2 Key feels heavier or lighter than stock? Thanks
somi boa v2 is heavier than stock, not by much though... both are a huuuge improvement over stock too, however, I personally prefer the v1 case. I like the matte color versus the v2’s gloss finish. As for the army green overlay... it wouldn’t be my cup of tea since there are no other green bits on the Pro’s interior. Red might look okay. 🤔

Hey, does this compromise if the air bags pop?
It was a safety hazard so Toyota issued a cease and desist order to halt production of these. Just an extra piece to fly off and hit you during an accident. I’d still buy one though lol

They hold up very well. However, AJT Design is no longer allowed to sell these..
