  • Capturing a transit across the Sun of the Tiangong space station is a challenge. It's much smaller than the ISS and can be in a higher orbit (apparent size even smaller). I tried for the first time yesterday and was successful! Wave to the nice Taikonauts!
I used my TEC160FL with a Lunt 2" herschel wedge and a Player one Saturn SQR-M camera.

Your first try? Amazing clarity. I assume you took a video, can I ask the frame rate you used?
I did the ISS years ago with a DSLR and telescope, but it became a black dot crossing the screen. Now I have a dedicated astronomy camera and will be trying again the next time it passes near me. I guess the faster frame rate, the better?
Thanks for all your videos and help.

This same transit is going to happen in my city in a few hours. Hoping to capture something half as good as this with my DSLR+Telescope!
