  • After owning both the Benelli TRK502X and the CFMOTO 450MT I give an explanation as to why I ditched the benelli and went with the CFMOTO 450MT.

    I come from a KTM 1190r on which I logged 60,000klms.
Having owned the 450MT for a week now and tinkered with it a little, I am totally at home.
    KTM’s influence is clearly evident.
Like you with your old bike, don’t miss the 25 fastners to remove plastics for air filter access!!

Good honest review from someone who actually bought the bikes, not shilling a demo bike which is usually the case of most 'reviews.'

I met a guy last Saturday at a popular bike stop who is trying to sell his CRF300 in order to buy the 450MT. He is having no luck selling because it seems folks in the market are wanting the 450 MT (or the Himi 450) instead. I think the 450MT is just the grouse, it carries its weight perfectly, doesn't feel top heavy at all, it so good on gravel roads, holds its shape over pot holes and ruts, and boy, can you throw it around on your favorite winding mountain road.

A mate of mine had the 1100 trek and it was terrible on fuel, I think he barely got 250kkm per tank. I have the 450mt and love it

another plus for the 450MT seems to be the wide range of stock and 3rd party upgrades and accessories day one. So far I've had no issue getting anything I wanted - so different to a few previous bikes.

Had 2 TRK's and I really like them for what they are i.e.outstanding comfort for long trips ... agree they are not for off road and the CF will no doubt excel compared ... I really like what the CF offers but as I don't do much off road then the extra cost of the CF plus then adding bits means I will wait until they are more common in the used market place ... the only other thing I would say is your comment that the TRK does nothing after 5,000 rpm is odd to say the least ... both of mine have pulled strongly through to 7,000rpm + and I have often sat at 80mph + no issues
