    This was an excellent video. Very clear and easy to follow and helped me change my actuator in 30 minutes. One top tip I found useful was that i tied a piece of string to the end of the cable on the old unit before pulling it through the bulkhead. Then i tied the string to the new lead and pulled it back through thus negating the need to remove the light cluster. Thanks again

    This is exactly what i was looking for! I had to replace the locking motor not because the flap was stuck, but because it didn't lock anymore. Thanks for the video!

    Tie a string to the wiring before pulling back the cable. That same string, when you attach it to the new replacement, makes it easier to pull the wire through the holes.

      Bonne chance,
      Tony Hillyard

    Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a 2011 polo gti with actuator part number 6RO-810-773-D. I'm struggling to find a replacement part, though. Do you know if a 2012 actuator would work on my car?
    My fuel door actually doesn't lock, so I'm hoping replacing it will resolve it. Not sure how to test if my current one is faulty though.

    • @Qspecialman

      @@GODEW It should be the same as a 2012 Polo. If you have an approachable VW main dealer, pay them a visit and ask if you can compare the part numbers. It is just possible (VW are always changing their parts and part numbers) that for some reason VW may have modified that fuel flap sensor. If you can get a look at the parts department computer screen you can usually work out how it goes together. Good luck.

    • @Qspecialman

      No need to disconnect the battery. You are only going to be unplugging a couple of safe to access connections. It is a very straight forward change over of a switch. Good luck. Tony.

    Hello, Do you know how I can manually open the flap? Mine keeps getting stuck and its always when I am at the petrol station. I had the problem a few months ago, but after locking and locking the car a few times it worked again. However when I tried that yesterday it wouldn't work and I ended up reaching a point where my car wouldn't lock or unlock any more. I have tried to open the flap again this morning but still not working and I desperately need to get some petrol! Thanks, Jane

    • @Qspecialman
      @Qspecialman  3 года назад

      If you watch the video again at about 6 minutes 43 seconds in you will see the overflow pipe just drops down behind the rear wheel arch. It does not connect to anything, it just hangs there. I hope that helps.
