Thanks for uploading this video. My fuel cap had completely snapped off when I stupidly walked past it on the forecourt whilst it was open. That Q Bond stuff has set like stone & fixed it. Once again, thank you
I also walked into mine while it was open and that's how it broke 🤣. Glad you got it fixed.
You sir are a legend! My fuel cap completely snapped off as I walked past it at the petrol station. I tried all types of glues (Sugru, 2-part Epoxy glues, Araldite, etc). None of them worked as I believe the fuel cap is actually plastic! Then I came across Q-Bond in this clip. It actually worked! The only thing I would say is to firstly sprinkle some of the powder in the joint and then apply the adhesive to it. Then hold it together. Thanks again.
Glad you found it helpful, q bond works wonders.
Where can I get the adhesive sir?
You can get it on ebay and probably amazon aswell. The name of it is Qbond.
I'll add a link to it in the video description later on today
Thanks mate, just what I needed
Thanks for making this video appreciate your efforts and time. Thank you
Thanks for the nice comment it's much appreciated 🙏
Absolute hero, worked like a charm
Qbond is a game charger, glad it worked for you
Mine has come clean off was like yours for a while and been meaning to.suprised was a VW same as me lol
Interesting, thanks for sharing 👍
It worked like a charm thank you
I'm glad it worked well for you 😁
Great vid - I broke mine in the same way :(
Thanks :) noooo another fallen fuel cap :(
Thank you for this video. I need to fix it on my car. Any suggestions on how to protect the paintwork from the QBond?
You could use some tape to cover the areas that you don't want the Qbond to touch then rip the tape off when it's dried. ( only issue I could see with this method is the Qbond bonding with the tape so you'd have to be a bit careful)
@@RCS_716 Good idea. I will go careful... I have ordered the Qbond via e-bay and should get it soon. I was so happy when I saw your video as what happened was exactly what I had done! Thanks again and for your reply
No problem, hope you get it fixed :)
I was gutted when I walked into mine 🤣
Can you use q bond without removing the whole fuel flap? How would you do it?
You can but I removed it so that it would be easier to lay the powder down
I had the same accident as you but the only difference was that mine completly broke off and the plastic broke in half so i cant really fix it by myself
Same for me, plus the price of the glue is the price of a new used cap, almost...
Hi . Is that for seat altea xl ? Thanks😊
This was on a vw polo, but if you have a similar problem the q bond will work great 👍
Thank you! This was exactly what I needed for my wife’s 2013 Polo which has suffered the same fate 😀 Has the repair lasted?
The repair is still going strong to this day, hasn't given me a problem since 😁
@@RCS_716 Thanks, that's really good to hear.
What is that long tube/wire for?
I'm not actually too sure what it is for but taking a guess I'd say maybe just incase you spill fuel in that area it will run down the tube and not just sit in the fuel cap/ door compartment.
I could be very wrong lol but that's the only thing I could think of
@@RCS_716 not sure if it's different to mine or not but I just took it out of my up and it was a breather tube
