Never pay mark up on a car! The money you’ve saved by buying the Camaro you can put exhaust, better seats, another set of tires for track days!.... just my two cents.....👍
There’s a reason why the GT350R is still marked up, and the ZL1 1LE isn’t, and that’s because more people want the GT350R, it sounds a ton better (a main reason why people buy these cars)(probably one of the best sounding factory cars ever made), and it’s a track car that doesn’t need the use of forced induction to be fast on and off the track. There a lot to be said about that.
Jason S personally, the 350r is the best sounding non exotic car on the planet. Ford working with borla to make the exhaust was an incredible decision. And hearing one at over 7000 RPM’s is just absolutely insane.
It is. I just drove my Beat up to Michigan for the Woodward Dream Cruise. I've driven in Michigan plenty before but with a tiny car on crazy stiff coilovers it put the roads in a whole new light. Can'tHave2MuchHP - you are wrong. All that is is heavy rear springs to deal with the load, so it's sort of stiff when not loaded. They still have soft dampers, and the spring rate vs weight still isn't as high as a sports car.

EddieX Partly due to the atrocious visibility. I rented a Camaro SS for a few days and of course being a rental car, it lacked any options such as blind spot monitors, so it was kinda scary to drive on the streets. As a track car the Camaro is amazing, but not a car I would use on the streets due to that.
I have a ZL11LE and I don't have a problem at all seeing out of it, my head is in the middle of the window. I don't look out the window with my bicep. The problem with these comparisons is that the ZL11LE is not a comparable to the GT 350R it's more of a comparable to the 911 GT3 or a lamborghini Hurican they have stiff suspensions also and have you ever tried to look out of a lambo? Nobody whines about the restricted vision out of that car. As far as the sound of the car put it in track mode and double tap the TC then select track and the car sounds freaking awesome but it might scare you because this is the only setting that allows you to get full throttle all the other settings restrict the horsepower.
I agree. People are overly critical about the visiblity. Is it perfect, no, but it is an amazing performance car at an amazing price point. Especially, as you pointed out, performance wise it’s more on par with the Lambo and Mclaren. I have one and love it. I’ve never had a car that was more fun or could corner as fast. By the way, I also have a Mercedes AMG. I rather drive the manual ZL1 1LE.
Exactly, the ZL1 is GM's top performer for Camaro when in 2015 it had 505 hp to today's 640 hp, why because Ford's mid-range Stang gt350r track car blew it's doors off, it's horse power 526. So GM's using Ford's mark to beat, came back with more horses than a drag stock car in the late 80's rated at just 500 hp. So if you want a comparison you have to race the KR (king of the road) GT 500. Note: Corvette was made to compete with Ford's two seater in the 50's, the Thunderbird, who always won the race. But now the mustang whooped that ass (Corvettes) so many times and the ford GT being a super car they threw their motor out, built a new one, with more torque and redesigned the whole car after putting the motor in the middle (like Seattle moving out of the AFC West, and being relocated to NFC North before they could win a title) of the chassis, good job GM but I'm still riding a Stang baby, the original American icon. GM did a fantastic job chased the leader GT 350 and after a couple tries got em'.
I would say the ZL-1 1-LE is closer to the GT-500. Take the supercharger off, thus an SS with the 1-LE option and this becomes more of an apples-to-apples comparison with the GT350-R. Visibility is much worse than in the Mustang, not insurmountable, but not as easy to see out of in comparison. The LS motor makes torque much easier, less oil consumption as well
I would choose a regular ZL1 A10 with a Corsa exhaust with the exhaust flaps open all the time lol, but i like the GT 350R a lot. Good review well done.
I believe the front end of the Ford is the star. For it to handle the way it does, and to feel so good, that’s next level engineering. Putting a giant blown motor on a car with race suspension isn’t anything crazy to me. It’s a cool car for sure. But I think the gt350R is more special and I think time will fell the same.
WOW! Sincere thanks to BOTH OWNERS! Unbelieveably well spoken & honest- ZERO trash talk from either. Really enjoyed each others impressions of the other's car- maybe the very best comparo I've ever seen. Love them both, but, the sound of the Mustang, along with that 8,200 RPM limit along with a daily driver ride (1LE was way to stiff) was my favorite. I agreed with both owners- the seats & dash & tech would've been nicer in the GT350R, but, who doesn't adore 650/650 on tap- all the time? I can barely tell a rental V6 from a Shelby, so, the Camaro is a real stand out- "what is that thing?" is what I always say when I see one (albeit rarely). EddieX- great work, and, (I'm guessing) solid editing! What a high bar to achieve, I hope you can keep it up! At $65k- the Camaro is a dedicated track car (pricey), and the GT350R isn't. But, at 65K for it, I think I would want more: tech, options, luxury, etc...
Everyone saying "take the super charger off and then lets see" thats like saying "make that flat plane crank cross plane then lets see" its put on at the factory, has factory warranty and is incorporated into the price. Both of these are great cars, I have driven a regular gt350 and a zl1 and both are absolutely amazing cars, and honestly someone with my driving ability will never come close to pushing either to their limit in any capacity. What I will say is the noise is smile inducing in the gt350 and the sheer grunt of the zl1 puts the exact same smile on my face. Different strokes for different folks
What a great comparison. Civil conversation without all the fanboys BS and real impressions of the cars. First time I’ve seen you’re channel but I’ll keep checking for more. Great job 👍

i own the 1le. i think this is the best review of these two cars i've seen. One beef - i get tired of hearing what a hard ride the 1le is mostly because i got use to it. sure it's a hard ride, but somehow 2k miles later, i dont notice. and the other thing - that suspension glues the car to the road like rails, and i'd like to point that out. took the car to willows a couple of weeks ago. had a great time. drove the car there and back (500 miles round trip). best street legal car there that day, and kept up with all the pure track cars. for me, the ride is stiff but not harsh, not jarring. My two cents. Again, great video, Eddie. Love the format, especially since the owners work at GM and Ford.
its nice to see what an actual polite conversation is like between different brand owners. something you don't see when visiting different car forums or youtube comment sections that drip with brand bias and vitriol. just 2 guys, driving 2 cool cars and having fun in both.
If your tracking the car Camaro is the tool. For every day all around, the sound, the experience of the revs etc. and the looks, Stang all day everyday! I also enjoyed the conversation between the to owners. Both seemed to be nice guys, however the Camaro owner was a little less biased. Awesome video!
This is the BEST honest review I have ever seen about these cars. I am a Shelby guy, but I TOTALLY respect this Camaro, and would not take it lightly (not even remotely). I agree with both guys opinions. The Shelby works better for me (engine orgasm), but I can't deny torque rules. Cheers. One last thought. I can add forced induction to my Shelby GT 350. GAME OVER :)
I'm saving this video to link in the dumb comment section arguments in the future. This is how real men compare cars. Blatant brand bias is not only ignorant but bad for the brand in the long run. Demand more from your favorite brand if you want more. Competition is always a good thing. It's a great age for american motor sports with all the competition and we've never seen this much quality in our muscle cars. Hats off for the very cool format. These guys put their bias aside and gave very genuine and logical opinions.
You nailed it with this review Eddie. I personally would choose the R and add more leather, power, wider tires and gadgets but with the 1le all you need is better race seats and exhaust. Overall I would give the Camaro the win but the Mustang gets my money because it's harder to upgrade looks.
I'm a new owner of a 2018 GT350 (non-R). I think this car feels like my 2006 BMW M3 Comp 6-Speed. However this Mustang has 200 more horsepower and a better manual transmission than any BMW ever made, along with Sync3. What a wonderful piece of machinery.
Horse power and torque do not equal a better driving experience. I did not realize this until I got my Shelby. The sound of the Shelby is just amazing and brings a smile to my face every time I start it. The revs just go forever. The driving position and visibility is much better in the Shelby and I like sitting up higher. For me the Camaro is hard to see out of and feels bigger and heavier, not sure if it is. I have no complaints about the interior except I would like a better stereo. I love the alcantara wrapped steering wheel but longevity could be an issue.
@@robertsmith5475 160lbs difference if you have the no frills base R. No A/C, radio, rear seat, sound deadening etc. The weight difference can be felt just like the power difference.
I had a 21’ SS 1LE 6SPD and loved the magna ride. The regular ZL1 would be the one for me with the magna ride rather than the ZL1 1LE with the DSSV system. Can you swap mag ride into the big dog ZL1 1LE easily?
I think the styling of the Shelby R is more classic and I prefer it, but as far as power, handling, tech features even the interior layout I'd have to chose the Camaro.I've always been a GM man, with the exception of Lincoln vs Cadillac, F series GM trucks, and even yes Mustang vs Camaro . In this case though without driving them myself I'd have to go with the ZL1 1LE. THAT ALL BEING SAID I THINK I AM VERY UNBIASED
That right here is how you compare cars. 2 the owners driving each others cars being respectful and not on youtube in the comments arguing like lil girls especially the ones who never driven either car. This was awesome
My opinion, from a 2018 Camaro 2SS owner: Wow this is weird since on my way home I just gapped a s550 mustang GT (in my 2018 Camaro 2SS, besides long tube headers, MBRP catback exhaust, k&n c.a.i., an oil catch can, and a tune, my car isn't too crazy granted since it's my daily) and this is a video I get recommended with? Damn they really do listen to our conversations lol 😂 but in my opinion I don't really care about "track time" or drag racing, etc. I'm a well, I'm more into the "Mexican racing league" type of scene and I love my Camaro! I've beaten a gt350 and it wasn't easy sure but it's possible, and I easily gap regular GTs (since it's my daily, and I didn't gut it out so they think I'm running stock when I'm clearly not lol) but I like both sure, but I love Camaros more (hence why I own one, despite having had the chance to get either one) i love them because well i grew up around Chevy's, and i test drove the 2018 GT and the 2018 2SS (on the same day) and in the end I loved the Camaro, the power, the daily drivability (with the automatic), the cool factor (to me i really don't like how the mustangs look, not even the classic one.) Plus the capability, I mean sure you can mod a mustang but as a die hard chevy fan, i mean idk any mustang performance brands, or their capabilities, etc. I mean shit i barely know anything about the mustang well enough to even say anything bad, but yea thats just my opinion, and to any stang owners, let's debate, and talk about our cars, im pretty down to hear why a mustang owner got their stang instead of a Camaro, and vise versa. (Also i drive an automatic, since it is my daily to school, errands, date nights, etc.)
Ford suspension on there cars has always been good which explains the ride I drove a GT mustang yesterday and it felt as good as my Lincoln not exactly the same but for a muscle car it was great on the road
One thing's for sure, you're not riding with anyone without violating the Corona rules presently. The suspension is very hard in the Camaro but that's what makes it so deadly on the track. They're both better than any sxt, gt, r/t, r/t scat pack, hell cat, demon wide body, srt, etc... challenger models.
@@EddieX when I said "you're" it was meant for anybody in general if that's what you're referring to. It's small in those cars especially the Camaro. That was the point.
The comparison of what is better is determined by the preference of the person buying the car... The chevy is better as a race car.. the mustang is better as a street car.
Hands down the best comparison I have ever seen. It is so refreshing to see legit people talk about two fine cars. Great job to everyone involved. Excellent format. Sure beats watching some young punk borrow a car he can't afford from a dealer and quoting stuff he has read on the internet but does not understand. I have never made a comment for a video before, but I feel this one well deserves accolades.
I chose my ZL one over the cobra r And yes you’re right the cobra exhaust sounds way better unfortunately there’s just not enough horsepower there you’re almost get beat by everything
i prefer the mustang GT350R...it looks more like a practical sports car that you can drive daily for multiple purposes while the Camaro looks too much like an over exaggerated race car that should only be driven on the track.
Fan of Mo Vlogs unless you want the engine to blow up on the gt350. Just better to get the zl1. I know you probably going to say “I’m dumb or some shit” but the gt350 engine isn’t a stable design engine. You would need to invest a lot of money into the voodoo engine to have a supercharger.
Hey brother. Thank you for the video. Great concept. Car-swap, this should bring up some interesting conversations not only about cars, but personalities as well.
I just purchased a 2019 ZL1 1LE and I cannot find the words to tell you how much I love it. I love the "race car" feel, a little rougher ride. Honestly, the Zl1 1LE is a bad ass looking car and it really is a beast. As far as "the view" out of the ZL1, it's not as bad as they say, you just have to drive it long enough to get used to it. There is nothing I don't like about this car.
The bottom line is how lucky we all are in 2018. We are again getting multiple outstanding solutions to the same need. Both are radical, both are quality machines, and it seems to me both are worth the money. Great show boys.
Great review. However the mustang owner was overly nit picky!! He’s talking shi7 about heated and cooled seats? “I don’t want that” come on man! The A/C controls are very intuitive. The Camaro guy while he critiqued the mustang he was very analytical and objective. Just my critique. Amazing job Eddie I think you should name these “Let’s flip whips” this was great let the guys talk. Do a Ferrari owner and a Lamborghini owner. A corvette and a Porsche or viper owner. This can be big.
+ABtheAgent I do agree with you that I was a little nit picky and could have been more objective in my reasons for why I thought the way I did. In my opinion though, having heated/cooled seats in a track-focused car doesn't make one car better than the other. I'd be more concerned with how the seat feels compared to the features. But I get how it could sound like I'm talking shit about them lol.
Matt S I will admit that I’m cross shopping these right now lol. Wait for the GT500?? Idk. Ford is just slow with the GT500 info!! But cool whip man!! Love it.
Awesome Vid! As a 2015 GT owner it is really cool to see guys that own each model talking about their cars. The bottom line is it is a great time to be a car lover right now. There are tons of options out there. I grew up in a Ford family and will probably always own Fords car (The new GT500 is calling me). But the competition of Ford/GM is what makes it great....And of course we can all laugh at Dodge in the end :)

The LS motor makes torque much easier, less oil consumption as well
I would have to agree there comparing a supercharged engine to a naturally aspirated engine it should be compared to the GT500 not the 350
A convincingly honest and thorough comparison of two rival cars that I also would like to own. Great video fellas!!!!
I would choose a regular ZL1 A10 with a Corsa exhaust with the exhaust flaps open all the time lol, but i like the GT 350R a lot. Good review well done.
Yes, agree completely but still tempted to get the manual.
lmao, automatic
Pretty much.
I read my mind if do same modifications but have it manual
Matthew D lmao gatekeeping cars
Excellent Cars! I love chevy and ford but I'll give it to the 1LE. Crazy engineering in this Chevy. And for the shelby, The engine is the star.
Camaros suck
@@drwho1821 My God! Now the whole world will change their standpoint.
@@drwho1821 you suck haha i love them both
I believe the front end of the Ford is the star. For it to handle the way it does, and to feel so good, that’s next level engineering. Putting a giant blown motor on a car with race suspension isn’t anything crazy to me. It’s a cool car for sure. But I think the gt350R is more special and I think time will fell the same.
Walid H you can’t really compare, one is naturally aspirated. The other isn’t
Both are amazing for 70,000. I would hands down take the mustang and put a pro charger!the 350 looks and sounds awsome!
Damn I want both. Shelby for showing off and Camaro for showing up at the track!!!
What a great comparison. Civil conversation without all the fanboys BS and real impressions of the cars. First time I’ve seen you’re channel but I’ll keep checking for more. Great job 👍
Ford lied and said no automatic could handle the torque. GM proved it was a lie.
Jacob Tratnyek General Motors

@@Lazaralis Funny because Ford has yet to use GM's transmission but GM was happy to use that 10 speed.

i own the 1le. i think this is the best review of these two cars i've seen.
Cooled seats on a hot day at the track is the BEST!!!!
Eddie loved the video do more of these comparsions they're great
Glad you enjoyed it! Will try to film more
Great video!! Finally a video comparing both at the same time... outstanding job
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!!
Even the base 1LE SS is insane! 455HP and 455LB of torque. More than I can handle LOL
Yes nd wen ur done paying it .... pro charge that bitch💪💪
Or turbo. But yea. Or stroker is nice. Anyway will make a 1le beastier
I have a 2018 ZL1 1LE and it doesn't have the 1LE below the ZL1 on the back. Where do I get one?
GT350R past 4k RPM's is heavenly music. 1LE's brutal torque is magic propulsion.
Respect to the Camaro in Ontario 🇨🇦👍
13:07 "I'm not whining!" Lolz
😂
At the end of the day, I want the one that wins the race (Camaro) I can upgrade the seats lol.
Nathan Moore heck yeah
Not only that but LS motors are cheaper to modify overall
its nice to see what an actual polite conversation is like between different brand owners. something you don't see when visiting different car forums or youtube comment sections that drip with brand bias and vitriol. just 2 guys, driving 2 cool cars and having fun in both.
I would take the ZL1 all day long!
Better get a tow truck..
You can make the exhaust louder independent of the driving mode in the ZL1 1LE. Its an option in the settings menu.
The gt350r is just sexy. Beautiful engine sound
CAMARO ALL DAY
LOOOONG🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷
Hell yeah
You nailed it with this review Eddie. I personally would choose the R and add more leather, power, wider tires and gadgets but with the 1le all you need is better race seats and exhaust. Overall I would give the Camaro the win but the Mustang gets my money because it's harder to upgrade looks.
real talk 1le.all.the.way
one small tip eddie :D the audio is flipped left to right .
LOVED HEARING THE ACTUAL OWNERS OPINIONS OF EACH OTHERS CARS. WELL DONE.
I'm a new owner of a 2018 GT350 (non-R). I think this car feels like my 2006 BMW M3 Comp 6-Speed. However this Mustang has 200 more horsepower and a better manual transmission than any BMW ever made, along with Sync3. What a wonderful piece of machinery.
absolutely amazing! Enjoy yours
I would like to see the comparison with the gt500
The point was that they were the same price
Camaro zl1 1le still faster
@@raptorthefish3842 I just like the looks of the stang a little better. just my preference. theyre both sweet ass rides though.
@@mjr2470 I guess the nice thing about the 350R is that you'll only get attention from car guys rather than a bunch of know-nothings.
yea backhandedly I get it based on the low amount of gt 350s vrs the amount of 500gt's
16:00 The ZL11LE owner is like, "What the hell did you guys just do to my car?!"
Bruhhh😂💀
Both awesome cars. I have a ZL1, and I'd love to have a GT350R too.
This is such a great rivalry between two great American Muscle beasts.
That Camaro looks menacing, even parked next to a gt350r.. and that’s saying something! Love both those cars!
6:46 "It's a v8 Honda." LMAO that's the first time I've heard anyone say that to describe a gt350r haha
Raúl not me I've heard that several times that's the impression I got just a big ass Honda motor that's all
Mostly likely because mustang (at least near me) are as common as hondas, which sadly makes them less exciting to see
There's never been a Honda that sounded that that. Ever.
@@billyunderwood7221 you missed the point
Cold_ Soup same as Camaros
Horse power and torque do not equal a better driving experience. I did not realize this until I got my Shelby. The sound of the Shelby is just amazing and brings a smile to my face every time I start it. The revs just go forever. The driving position and visibility is much better in the Shelby and I like sitting up higher. For me the Camaro is hard to see out of and feels bigger and heavier, not sure if it is. I have no complaints about the interior except I would like a better stereo. I love the alcantara wrapped steering wheel but longevity could be an issue.
The camaro is actually smaller but weighs 100pounds more between these trims
Timothy Wolleck you're full of s***
@@robertsmith5475 160lbs difference if you have the no frills base R. No A/C, radio, rear seat, sound deadening etc. The weight difference can be felt just like the power difference.

Man that camaro is ugly with that ricer wing
@@cobras559 ricer wing? You meant racers wing. This is standard aero used in many professional racing divisions.
i would take a ZL1
I had a 21’ SS 1LE 6SPD and loved the magna ride. The regular ZL1 would be the one for me with the magna ride rather than the ZL1 1LE with the DSSV system. Can you swap mag ride into the big dog ZL1 1LE easily?
I love that both guys are able to give unbiased opinions. I would have a hard time choosing between the two.
The Mustang looks so damn good !
Great comparison video man... good work 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Glad you enjoyed it!!
That right here is how you compare cars. 2 the owners driving each others cars being respectful and not on youtube in the comments arguing like lil girls especially the ones who never driven either car. This was awesome
My opinion, from a 2018 Camaro 2SS owner:
Wow this is weird since on my way home I just gapped a s550 mustang GT (in my 2018 Camaro 2SS, besides long tube headers, MBRP catback exhaust, k&n c.a.i., an oil catch can, and a tune, my car isn't too crazy granted since it's my daily) and this is a video I get recommended with?
The GT350 would definitely make a better daily than a ZL1 1LE
Didnt realize this was a vid about wich is a better daily😆
Good review. Since I track my car, performance is the key criteria, so I would choose the ZL1 1LE.
Ford suspension on there cars has always been good which explains the ride I drove a GT mustang yesterday and it felt as good as my Lincoln not exactly the same but for a muscle car it was great on the road
We’ll for me the body styles between the Camaro and mustangs! The Camaro wins big time !
You do realize this video was filmed months and months ago...
One of your best videos. Thanks!
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it
You guys make me laugh, reminds me of Harold and Kumar. Lol
Thats racist, youre a racist and you should feel bad
Hands down the best comparison I have ever seen. It is so refreshing to see legit people talk about two fine cars. Great job to everyone involved. Excellent format. Sure beats watching some young punk borrow a car he can't afford from a dealer and quoting stuff he has read on the internet but does not understand. I have never made a comment for a video before, but I feel this one well deserves accolades.
I really like the format as well...nice work. This is how a car review and comparison should be done.
I'm old school. You can't compare small block to big block.
I chose my ZL one over the cobra r And yes you’re right the cobra exhaust sounds way better unfortunately there’s just not enough horsepower there you’re almost get beat by everything
If you e85 with a tune they are monsters tho
i prefer the mustang GT350R...it looks more like a practical sports car that you can drive daily for multiple purposes while the Camaro looks too much like an over exaggerated race car that should only be driven on the track.
practical sports car. let that sink in a minute. Best timeline ever.
@@danflom1271 yes there is such a thing as a practical sports sir....let that sink in
ZL1! I just love this car!
It’s nice to have the two owners driving each others cars and I was waiting for the rev match that never happened
On track I’d like the revving Ford. On the street I like the usable low end torque of the Chevy.
I think if you supercharged the Mustang the Mustang will be better than an ZL1
but today ZL1 will have the W
Fan of Mo Vlogs unless you want the engine to blow up on the gt350. Just better to get the zl1. I know you probably going to say “I’m dumb or some shit” but the gt350 engine isn’t a stable design engine. You would need to invest a lot of money into the voodoo engine to have a supercharger.
What’s with this sassy Lost child? Actually the gen 2 engine is a lot better and love boost
Hey brother. Thank you for the video. Great concept. Car-swap, this should bring up some interesting conversations not only about cars, but personalities as well.
Amazing series to start! Please do more of these videos, they will definitely blow up.
THIS HAS PROBABLY BEEN THE BEST REVIEW OF BOTH CARS
lets not forget the camaro has an actual arm rest for the driver lol
It's funny people complain about the tilted screen on the Camaro... It might look funny but you can see it perfectly it in the sun.
The Mustang was amazing.
The bottom line is how lucky we all are in 2018. We are again getting multiple outstanding solutions to the same need. Both are radical, both are quality machines, and it seems to me both are worth the money.
Great show boys.
Carbon fiber wheels are cool, how do you replace a rim if they get damaged?
I think the GT350 revs faster cause of the flat plane crank, but he doesn't notice it cause of the lacking torque.
Motor trend noted it in their comparison as well. The Camaro revs quicker. I'm guessing it's down to more torque and possibly a lighter flywheel.
Nice video. My choice: Mustang, hands down
Great review.
@@Wings1090 man you guys both are blessed living the life that we wish we could LOL enjoy it because when I get my Mustang I will be enjoying it too

Matt S I will admit that I’m cross shopping these right now lol. Wait for the GT500?? Idk. Ford is just slow with the GT500 info!! But cool whip man!! Love it.
great job guys! the way you explain everything about the cars, the format you present. i will be following you. You will be around a long time.
