thats just click bait talk, any person with common sense should know that those track tires needs to be swapped out for something like Pilot 4s' if this car is going to see any daily driving, rain or shine.
Chevy should have been building this model since the early 2000’s. Not when big motors like these are becoming exctinct. This car is simply so badass from the box.
But it's a poser car. No way 99% of buyers would not end up dead if they actually used the power, and a few laps on track will overheat the car and burn thousands of $ in tires. But the market demo is 50+ yr olds who will never do anything but make noise with this car.
@@truantray I haven't heard of any overheating issues with this car on the track. I track my CTSV and do not have any overheating issues. The corvette z06 automatics are the only late model gm car I know of that had overheat issues.

This car is on my wishlist, just without the 1LE track package and with a manual transmission. Without the 1LE pack you still get the same power, a much smaller rear wing and adjustable magnetic dampers, so I think it's a bit friendlier for everyday driving.

The Camaro is incredibly heavy and running this on a track will require a savings account that probably isn’t fitting with the audience this targets. This car makes little sense with the C8’s existence. Hate the MR layout? C7s are better track propositions.

I have a 17’ SS 1le. Best car money could buy (performance wise) for 50,000. I bought it new Jan of 2017 with 4 miles on it. I’m at 16,500 now. This car still amazes me. My dad has a 911 4S that I have a lot of driving time under. I take my car over it in every single performance category. The looks also match the performance

I think I mentioned in another video that I recent got "stuck" behind one of these on the highway for half an hour or so. It sounded SOOOO GOOD! Good enough that I was following closely to stay behind it until it turned off the highway. The guy (or gal) driving it must have thought I was trying to race, but I just wanted to listen to those sweet dulcet tones as long as possible.

Had an 84 z28 HO with the 5 speed. My dad gave it to me at 16. Had a cam, header and exhaust. It was kind of rare too because of the option package, but not in a way thay anyone was willing to pay for. Sold it to a guy and he swapped an automatic into it for his wife...

About a year ago I was torn between a C7 Z06 and a ZL1 1LE... I ended up buying the vette... but damn, every time I see one of these on the street I question my decision.... they just look SO vicious!
I own a 2017 ZL1 w/ 1LE aero and my ZL1 almost always hooks on Launch with 25-30°C weather. I think the Michelin Pilot Sports or that 1LE suspension is just killing the Launches for you guys.
The 1LE suspension won’t hookup from a dig, there’s no weight transfer but the non 1LE will. So for street and drag racing you get the ZL1 ( like I have) and for road course track days you get the 1LE. Definitely get the 10 spd no matter which you choose.
Thyny San not when its biggest muscle car competitors GT500 and Redeye are pushing 750+ horses. It’s all about competition. Just imagine how much more of a beast it would be with the LT5.
The ZL1 is one of the best cars money can buy at the price point, hands down. Not even at its price point, but it can go toe-to-toe on the track with cars much more expensive. Yes those are the factory wheels. Imo the SS 1LE rims are among the nicest looking rims of all time. Though, the ZL1s are obviously better for performance.
The 1LE packages have adjustable suspensions and they said Chevrolet set it up for this track. It does look delicious though, doesn't it... I could take out a lot of anger driving this on the track. Expensive therapy? Sure. But who cares.

Just a heads up if you wanna rev it over 4,000, the zL1 has a traction control button right above where the “mode” button is. If you hold the traction control for like 5 seconds, it turns off traction control completely and you can rev it higher. Badass car!!
This is actually the first year they offered the 10 speed in the ZL1 1LE. Wish they would've given you guys one of these a while ago when it was manual or nothing.

The ss 1le is pretty much same suspension the zl1 just has more power. It's really not horrible to daily drive but if you look at lap times, it's on par with some super cars

2018 ZL1 owner. Skip the launch mode. Turn off all nannies and power brake around 1700 rpm. Suspension in Tour, exhaust in Track and motor in Sport.

I have had an automotive disconnect for a few years. You video is the first I saw of this package... hollycow! I haven’t felt this way about a car sense I saw the ssr and knew it was going to have the “corvette package “ I was 17 when I saw the concept car... this Looks great. Cool car man; I love the design . in Sydney that looks so big but in Canada it just look average. Isn't the ZL1 LE more into racing; I would prefer one that is less brutal, for everyday use. Thanks guys

The ss 1le is pretty much same suspension the zl1 just has more power. It's really not horrible to daily drive but if you look at lap times, it's on par with some super cars
