My Honda van was making a loud noise when I turned my steering wheel. I took it in for repair they said it was the power steering pump and replaced it. Now 2 weeks later it's making the same noise and the same shop now says it my power steering pressure hose which can make the same noise as the power steering pump. Was this a mis-diagnose or can it possibly be both the power steering pump and the power steering pressure hose going out at the same time?
@ well both my power steeeing hoses were leaking & my power steeeing pump half of it was wet looking I guess that’s why it was making a loud whine sound when it’s really cold
I have a Honda accord 2009. I just replaced the CV axle and the arm that attaches the ball and joint thing. It’s been around a month. The other day my car began to make a squealing noise like someone scratching a high pitch sound. I got home fact and began to inspect I check my car and when I went under I notice gunk( like dust that attached to oil. It had some on the rubber boot component . I check on it lately and atleast on the bottom it doesn’t have anything . I will add more steering fluid tomorrow and see what happens.
You are super smart and I just learned so much from watching your video. I subscribed so I'm looking forward to see what other educational automotive repair videos you've made. Thanks for helping this single Mom (me) get schooled so I don't get ripped off by another shop! My dad died when I was 9 and my sons dad was murdered 2 months ago so I'm on my own!!! Maybe I can fix things myself, on my Honda Accord & GMC Jimmy!
What happened if it’s back pressure causing a leak between the cap and the reservoir when the engine is off? Does that mean my steering pump is defective?
Thank you for your help. I don't trust the mechanics to be and or honest and before I take the vehicle in, it'll be nice to have some sort of idea of what may be going on.

Great stuff. Very informative. Never knew there were so many potential places for power steering fluid leaks.
Oh yea, if the component has fluid in it then it could potentially leak.
Great video! Best I’ve seen. I have a nasty leak on my 03 Silverado. Gonna tear her apart, Clean and check for leaks

On my 04 Honda accord ex 2.4 I been hearing this loud charge noise and both hoses on my power steeeing look wet why ?
What do you mean a loud charge noise? I'm not sure what that is.

@YoungShizzie Oh ok. A loud whine noise. Fluid leaks can cause that in a power steering system. That may be why.
Very good and thoroughly informative vid. TFS !! Thumbs up x 2 !
Thank you! Cheers!
💯
@@BarboursAutoHelpby far the best video on here. Tyty bud!!
Learned so much with this video. Thank you!
Now those tires are the definition of all-season. Racing slicks on the inside, mud and snow on the outside. Pristine!
Lol
This is the best video 😁 lifesaver
Appreciate it!

What colour would the spots on your driveway look like? Clear ?
Depends on the vehicle. Some have clear, some may have a brownish color, and others may be red. (As far as all the colors I am aware of)
Excellent
Thank you!!
Very usefu info
Thanks
If oil don’t drop but bubbles than air is being sucked in
I found my leak because the boot is torn, and I found a spot on my driveway.
Glad you found it.
