This was a beat-up 1960's or 70's King Carousel Gumball Machine with stand. The original green had to go, but who wants to make it red like all the others?

Wonderful job you did restoring that gumball machine. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. The paint job is looking better as well. Excellent work.
Excellent job!
LOVE this! I just worked on my vintage gumball machine, and looked for one to fix up for my daughter. I don't have the ability to powder coat anything, so I had to pay for a product painted by someone else. I appreciate your attention to detail, and the splash of purple you added to the candy wheel.
Sandblasting is the best part to watch in all restoration videos
I have one of these just sitting I need to remodel it and prop it in my house asap!!
beautiful
Great video! I cant wait to finish my restoration!
Brings back memories of my childhood seeing that machine
that green reminds me on my parents bathroom Tube and Shower in the 70ths
Just for the record I liked the green more than the purple
Definately a simple but eyecatching scheme, I love it as it's still got the 60's vibe.
I am going red still myself but chose a pearl Electric Red over what seems to match to Post Van red for us brits, will be spray but powder is deffo the way to go if it sees a lot of use.
BEYOND SHARP & BRAND NEW 😎👌👌👊👊🤜🤛👍👍🖐️✋👊👊✊✊also wow also simply awesome and excellent and beautiful bubble gum machine
Outstanding colour outstanding finish :)
LOVED those things... guaranteed some candy would shoot out on the floor and it was a race to see if you could get it before your mom yelled LEAVE IT THE FLOOR IS FILTHY
Ottimo restauro complimenti
It’s missing it’s clear plastic piece the covers over the candy shoot. Sweet looking job.!
Thanks a lot I have the same exact one in red that I got from my family and am cleaning it but trying to find something good to polish the metal
Getcha some mother's metal polish and a buffing sponge at the hardware store 👍
Nice but you missed the sandblasting. I find it so satisfying to watch.

Hi bro 👋👋👋very good restoration 👍👍👍
Great restauration but really miss sound. And sandblasting is so satisfying to see. Personally I would have painted it read.
You sure that green was the original color? I don't recall those coming in any color but red. It does look much better in purple.
Personally I preferred the green to the blue. But in either case I can definitely appreciate you going away from the generic red color.
It's purple
I Like :)
Awesome video and attention to detail ! Can you tell me the name of the cleaner you used ? Also what type of paint and sheen ?
"SWEET"
The purple is almost as ugly as the froggy green. Those dispensers cry out to be red. Good job, though, thumbs up!
If you don't like the color don't comment, there was no need to say the purple is ugly🙄
Oh great, now I'm hungry for Skittles - if I send you some pennies will you buy some from the machine and send them back to me?
Goodbye ugly green! Hello ugly purple! Seriously though, either color is fine when new and shiny. The problem is painting the stand the same color as the machine. If this was the way they were originally done or whatever, it is still wrong. The machine just becomes the end of a colored stick this way when what it really needs is to "pop" and stand out from the structure that is supporting it. It is like what happened with the lighting on the Empire State Building. The new technology is great, but they made the mistake of also lighting the TV antenna along with the building. The true outline of the primary structure gets blurred and dilutes the impact of the lighted building at night. Black, grey or even a rust brown for the stand would look much better and it doesn't have to be flat as a gloss paint would look just fine and easy to wipe clean.
I have a similar model, by any chance do you know how to make the machine make bubble gum come out without paying ?
there is a video on here by gumballs.com that shows how to do it. It's very easy, I just did mine.
How do you get the money out of it?
You can put your money IN the machine, or the smart kids would use it to unscrew the top and get all the candy.
So, steal?
I dunno, this looks older than 60s and definitely older than 70s.

Around what year was this acorn made??? Is it old or like 1980’s ?.?
It's difficult to date these, as this is a home unit, not a commercial unit that would be used in the public. They've been making these since the 1950's. My best guess is this version is from the 60's or 70's. They are still selling these today, although the base is a bit different.
Oh ok. I just bought one exactly like yours but the lady painted it flat pink. Looks kind of cool but I want make it like a mint green. I think that’ll look a little better. We’ll see. Thanx for your reply
Outstanding job by the way
@@jasondean3332 Thanks Jason. These don't have a great amount of value so you can customize them to your heart's content. I certainly want to hang on to this one.
80s or 90s. Not very old. I have the same one in red.
no sound in any of these videos dude i mean c'mon
Thanks for watching, Alex. Various sounds will be added in future videos - but no music.
@@OneMansJunk ok cool
There's still corrosion inside the coin part c'mon man you can do better than that 🙄
Thank God there are people like you out there to set me straight.
No sound so I dislike
Excellent job!
Great work!
