Y'know, you could take apart the machine to remove the little metal bar for free sweets, or you can do it much faster with a hammer to the glass, just saying.
You can even get many gum balls or balls as much as you want if you tape or glue the coin but never do this in a shopping mall because soon if you do this you will get caught and then you will get a fine or get arrested.
This is high level material mate, you are so damn good at explaining and visualizing, not once did I feel left behind in your videos. You should train people in making teaching videos, cover all bases and create an empire. Any teacher would love these.
My dad was a vendor when I was a kid, so I got to see the inner workings of the machines he owned. I guess I hadn't thought about the fact that other people don't just inherently know how these things work. Nice animation, as always! :)
My family actually had one of these a few years back (I think we still do), and one day, I decided to take it apart piece by piece to see what was inside, and then put it back together, and that was back in my early teens, if not younger, for some reason, that memory has always stuck with me.
As a kid we would go into grocery stores and steal the plastic bread tabs off bags of bread. Go outside and shave the down to quarter dimension on the pavement. Go back into the grocery store and use our tabs as quarters. Worked 100% of the time. Sometimes they got stuck in the slot and it was all you and your friends could grab before the manager chased us aways. Classic 1980's kids stuff
Me and my brother found a machine with the dispenser cover rotated slightly (or it was the wrong size idk) to where if you cranked and held it in a certain position everything would line up and you could shake it to get a few more m&ms. They’d come out pretty slow but theoretically we could’ve emptied the machine for $.25 if we stood there shaking the machine all day.

Remember the slot in which your coin fits? That is specifically designed for a specific coin - a cent, quarter or whatever. Anything thats bigger than that won't fit, while anything smaller won't disengage the locking pin 2:31.
I think this video thought me how to scam a gum ball machine. I’m pretty sure. So if you put some sort of coin width rod into the coin slot while keeping hold, it’ll allow the piece that would jam to pass over the coin slot and you can take the rod out and keep turning until a gum ball comes out.

How about using a coin shaped neodymium magnet? Since it's magnetic, the magnet shouldn't fall off if the rotating thingy is made of magnetic metal. That way, you should be to turn it forever and when you're done, pull the magnet with another magnet.

One incredibly fortunate time I discovered that the black cherry gumball machine was broken and would dispense a gumball without needing a quarter. I had so many gumballs that day.

Flippy - I tried it but it didn't work, when I was pushing the metal back to keep it in place, I blocked the switch. That way it didn't work.
