Definitely don't need a Hellcat to have fun. This thing was way more fun on the track than expected, much better than on the road.
I love my 2018 T/A 392
The 8 speed auto is amazing on the track. It is very good at keeping you in the right gear at the right time based on your driving/braking.
autos are dumb
How can you tell if it's fun to drive if you never get it over 45mph
I can’t say nun my dad had a black and white one but he went 177 and also littarly goes 80 casually having fun and shit
The T/A is sweet and I am really glad that Dodge decided to use the 392 this time as well, it is an awesome motor. I recently bought an SRT and am really impressed with its handling abilities, especially considering that it was designed as a strip/street car.
I know I'm sort of necroing this thread, but I'm so glad to hear that! Really thinking about going for an SRT myself, but haven't been able to drive it yet. Read a lot about it not being sporty in the corners like many other cars, but also a lot about it being way better than you might think.
Freaking beautiful car.
The T/A absolutely does belong on the track; the T/A model was (and in a way still is) track racing package for the Challenger. T/A stood for Trans Am, as in the old racing series. And funny enough, one of the old Trans Am series best and most raced tracks is Laguna Seca!
I got my T/A 392 2017 and guess what no more in 2019 !! Yes Rare car
I sell these, we could order these for 2019, 2020, and now 2021.
@@henryclark5611 yeah it was a rumor that they discontinued these. If I could afford one I'd own one. Love the challengers, and the T/A has been my favorite version besides an r/t with the shaker
@@DominatorGarage hell yea man! MOPAR BABY
Yellowjacket TA 392.... I'm proud to own one!!!!
I’m getting BBK Long Tube Headers soon for my T/A
Just bought a 2019 t/a. 392. Love it and it’s a bit intimidating
It sure looks cool.
John Grytbakk
I think it's the best looking car ever made. Built on the American spirit!
It looks Just like my T/A ^.^
Thank You for posting your video. In July of this year(2023) I bought a 2021 Widebody Challenger R/T Scat Pack T/A 392 that has the wider 305 tires with the adaptive suspension which comes with the Widebody package. I'm tired of hearing that this car can't be driven like a sports car! It's too heavy! It doesn't handle! We know that Dodge was bringing back the "Muscle Car", but along with that they gave it a little more modern technology and capability in the handling department with sticky 20" tires (305/35ZR20's on the Widebody). You also have to know how to handle a car like this. You can't just "Point and Shoot". It needs to be convinced to take a turn, and even then a little bit of driving ability helps to finesse it around a curve. Yes it needs to take a wider line because of its weight and inertia, but it will eventually get to where it needs to be. Do you want a Viper? Then buy a Viper. Thank You again.
The T/A 392 is a SRT my man
I love mine so much I hope it lasts my lifetime (but I'm definitely not driving like it😅) I have the '17 yellowjacket T/A 392+ Super Track Pack
I found one two weeks ago same package you never see these here in NY. Keep yours bro!!!
Laguna seca 👍🏼👍🏼. I live 15 minutes from there.
Sooooo is it a handling package orrrr...........??
That was a review ?? I guess you really did not need to drive it it's stickers ,spoiler and hood scoop with ram air , wider wheels same engine and trans as any 392 looks cool though
Between this or the scatpack shaker, which one is faster or better looking?
Reynaldo Garcia they both have the same engine, and the looks are up to you
Here are the biggest differences, T/A 392 is .5" lower, has a functional AAR hood scoop and hellcat style air inlet. 275 tires on all 4 corners (not 245). Better looking, T/A hands down imo. Mine is an M6 392 T/A and has beaten A8 scatpacks at the drag strip.
ColdHeritage lucky you!!!
Thx. can you lay out diff b/t T/A 392 and SRT 392? I cannot get this straight and my dealer (!) was befuddled when I questioned him as to my confusion.
teller121 sure. The SRT has the adjustable suspension (not to be confused with the suspension settings that both the TA and SRT share in the performance pages).
Both have the same AAR style hood, and initial ride height.
The TA has the active hellcat style air inlet for the intake, as well as the functional hood scoop that the SRT does not have. (This can be purchased aftermarket and added to an SRT for about an extra $1000).
Otherwise, the differences are purely cosmetic. Matte painted hood (not as hard to take care of as some think) matte vinyl on the roof, trunk, and side graphics. The other main difference is the TA has flow forged wheels that are actually lighter than the hellcat and viper wheels. Not to mention the interior of the TA has white gauge faces and a "carbon fiber" appearance to the trim around the shifter and dash.
Is it true that Dodge has already stop production on the T/A
Dennis Childress I think it's true. I don't want to say that it ain't true since there's not much of T/As. I would guess they stopped production
Dennis Childress no the ta is a replacement for the scat pack
Sebastian Perez no they replaced the scat pack and just barely got released to public
Steve anaya that's completely false, they are keeping both scat pack and t/a for future years
Dennis Childress - Collin Cullere is correct, the Dodge website has both.
track?
Why do you have windows down on the teack?
usually a safety rule tracks have in case of crashes. It is easier to get out of the car without windows to deal with.
Can you do the manual please
It is NOT FUN TO DRIVE IF IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC . NOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAY ..........
It can be more fun as shifting in traffic sucks and yas still get rhe thrill of the response the roar of rhe engine and the go faster auto leaving manuals reading licence plates🤷♂️ just saying lol
I wonder how this would do against a '12-'13 boss
Wil_Leighton it would bury the boss lmfao
who gives a flying fuck...If you want a boss go buy one ...if you want a challenger buy one but grow the fuck up dufass
Wil_Leighton I think if the Boss Mustang didn't hit anything or didn't spin out, it has a chance
Frank Angiolo before it falls apart.
I've owned the Challenger before and now I currently own a BOSS 302 (both cars are in my videos- check my channel out!) and I've driven multiple Challenger 392s, Preformance wise the BOSS 302 revs higher and also weighs less, and the BOSS has better seats, yes the Challenger is more powerful at 485 horsepower but the BOSS has a very stout 450. As far as straight line I have beaten 392s just because I rev and rev and rev, and I can't say I've raced a TA on the track, however I firmly believe that the boss would still take the win there as well. With the adjustable suspension and Panhard bar the boss comes with, I would say it also outdoes the Challenger for the most part on corners as well. Looks wise and interior quality wise the Challenger takes the win, Chrysler really stepped up their game in 2015 with their major redesigns! As for build quality I would say they are pretty much even, I did have to have my transmission in my BOSS rebuilt at about 30,000 miles Because of the infamous MT82 synchro and lockout issues.
With that being said I also am selling my BOSS very soon for a C6 Corvette Z06 Because I want a true upgrade from both cars. Life is too short to only enjoy one brand of car!
Hope I helped!
I love the retro touches they are giving the Challenger line, but I'm still not a fan of the styling----compared to the original, it looks chunky and bloated to me.
I totally agree with you on that. The earlier '14 and back Challengers had much cleaner lines front and rear. The later ones almost look like bricks with 4 wheels. And the T/A is all screwed up. Has a 'cuda AAR hood, butt ugly wheels, and the blackout on the roof looks like crap...the original T/A's didn't have that!!! At least they got the side stripes right...
And you sound like a butthurt Challenger owner. It's ok, little boy....maybe momma will dry your tears for you.
Tremec Manual or Nothing at all !!!
no manual
Brenton Hobson you can get it in manual
Sorry I can't with this damned music. 👎
its not even that bad..
Awful review. Every Challenger with 392 or bigger should only come with a manual.
