- Here is my edition of Ever Dream, in the voices of all the vocalists who have been to Nightwish.
Each singer adapted the music to their style, and the combination of these styles in a single video has always been a personal desire. I hope you enjoy the result.
Three TOP TOP singers and three different bands at each moment... yet my favourite is Floor. Gives me the chills to hear her sing.
They're all nightwish, I like them all :)
They're all so different, but each change the song so much, Anette makes it a bright, pop song, uplifting, smile making, the other two make it something darker. ❤ All three.

Nightwish is unfair to every other band on earth. For more than 20 years they have had one of the worlds best composer in Tuomas, kick ass drummers in Kai and Jukka, the guitar master Emppu, the most awesome male vocalist\bassist\guitar player alive with Marko and since 2012 Troy who seems to be able to play any instrument he's handed flawlessly. If this wasn't enough they have had not one but three gorgeous female lead vocalists each a fantastic singer that has brought their own unique flavor to the music. Tarja is a dark elven queen with soaring tones (Nemo). Anette brings a very strong main steam sound (Storytime). Floor is simply the Valkyrie Goddess whose range, power and versatility are unmatched (Poet and the Pendelum, How's the Heart (Acoustic version with Troy)).
How can any band ever hope to even come close to such an all powerful combination as Nightwish has been over the years.

I like all three because this is one of my absolute Nightwish Songs. But this is obviously written for Tarja’s voice. Floor has perfect pitch, as usual, but she has to scream too much in the last part to get up there. I swear I don’t know what Tuomas did to make that final verse so hard to sing. Even Tarja seems to have some trouble with it live. I still listen to all of them and enjoy all of them. I do like that they’re different.
@2 Ssj vocal What are you talking about? She sings it in a higher key? You don’t need to defend Floor, I love her and her version. She’s probably one of the best singers on the planet right now, but she’s not perfect. I don’t understand why you guys want to put that kind of pressure on her anyway. I have a preference on this particular song. Sorry you can’t handle it.

Thats my ranking, Tarja and Floor both can make crazy things with her voices, Anette is a really good singer (Storytime is a example), but is more limited
Anette has a sweet voice, but she's horrible live. Floor has the best stage presence and rock star personality, with a strong voice to boot, but Tarja's elegant and majestic vocals painted on the canvas that Tuomas set up for her was just magic.

Three beautiful girls with three different voices.
Tarja Turunen with her lyrical voice and a bright and velvety timbre.
Annette Olsson with a balanced and extremely harmonious, smooth and sweet voice.
Floor Jansen with her powerful and striking voice.
All three voices have their own power and their own brilliance.
But here is my ranking of Nightwish singers: 1°) Annette Olsson. 2°) Tarja Turunen. 3°) Floor Jansen.

All trio are bloody amazing in their own right floor suits some songs as does tarja with her transition into operatics which is so damn easy for her and Annette her song was Storytime but lacked power for other songs but i love all 3 magnificent in their own right,i cant put one above the other all brilliant,damn great band not forgetting Marko i love all their songs

Well...Tarja and Anette are definitely great singers in their own genre, but Floor is absolutely the best that could happen to Nightwish. She is just legendary and can do so much more with her voice than any other singer as far as I know. She can do so many genres...its just insane.

Lots of people arguing in the comments over who is best... I say it's pointless. All three are of different styles and backgrounds, and can do different things. They're all great in their own right. If I HAD to choose someone for this song, it would be Tarja, but only because she sang it first, just like how I view, say, "Amaranth" as Anette's song and something like "Perfume of the Timeless" as Floor's.
Like you, I think all 3 bring something different to Nightwish, but you can't argue that according to a 'best ever albums' website has the top Nightwish albums are 1- Once, 2- Century Child, 3- Dark Passion Play and at 4 - Imaginaerum. Personally I'd agree with that. I only 'found' the band last year, via Showtime - Storytime, thinking then that Floor was something special, especially after hearing her version of Phantom with Henk Poort.
But I now think only Tarja can really do justice to the likes of Ever dream and only Anette with Poet. I'd also add that since leaving Nightwish, Tarja's solo efforts are all amazing, all equal to Nightwish, and Anette with her solo stuff and with Dark Element material are up there too - while Floor's sole effort Paragon - the warrior seems to have turned into a cabaret singer!!
And after a disappointing (in my mind) Human-Nature, that Yesterwynde lives up to the standard of anthems set by the likes of Once and Imaginaerum

It's just a matter of which version you prefer... 3 good singers but with different vocal characteristics.
Tarja is the one who can sing it like no other. Even Floor and Anette are good, this is not the same feeling. Tarja is the winner for this song

This has been out now for...what...4 years now and you guys still haven gotten it right when it comes to the proper order of singers! Well please allow me to set the record straight, from best to pretty darn great are: #1 Marko Hietala. #2 The Girls*. #3 and Troy Donockley is pretty darn great, too! Sheesh! Now on to more important matters, how do we fans create enough of a stir in each of Nightwish's talented musicians, past and present to come together for just one special evening in Tampere? Old songs, new songs, mix-and match of singers, drummers, bassists and... sorry Mr. Emppu Vuorinen looks like you might not get many breaks. (psst: I would love to hear the unthinkable: Poet and the Pendulum sung by...that ...um first girl who sang for Nightwish!) Nightwish is known for being EPIC well this show, imo, would dwarf Nightwish!!! (Of course it would need to be recorded for resale on DVD and CD and etc). At the end of this grand event the three ladies of Nightwish would stand alone, center stage and sing Ad Astra. *(Ok, so we all know who "the Girls" are, but we fixed the ranking system earlier, remember?) Marco is quite horrible to be honest... our music teacher in elementary school played Marco's previous band Tarot to us (they were a local band from the same city), didn't like him/them then, didn't like when he joined Nightwish either, I get someone had to do the growls on Oceanborn but then he got some clean parts.. yikes
@GreySectoid I liked him just fine with Nightwish. For instance, I liked him just fine on Phantom of the Opera with Tarja while both were with Nightwish. I did hear a recent version with him with Tarja and her band, which I didn't care for. I further loved his duets with Floor. I am not a music instructor, nor even a musician, but as a fan of music, I like his vocals just fine. Edited to add: You might have missed it but my placing Marko above "The Girls" was a deliberate touch of sarcasm. My larger point below that was suggesting that in one EPIC EVENT, all of the Nightwish members, past and present, having multiple opportunities to perform with each other.

they all sing great, yes BUT suiting Nightwish best is Floor I think. Tarjas Voice is powerful for sure but really for me more for more classic music. Anettes voice is very light, great though but it fades under the instruments a bit. would work totally great with electronic music I think. Floors voice is powerful and clear but not as dramatic as Tarjas so it fits this kind of music best for me.
