@@natalieburnham3300 agree im from pa and stumbled on nightwish when i watched the goddess singing shallow and it changed my life.your passion for this music and group makes you a member of the army.i think their playing in dc or baltimore need to check and get tickets also
I think some of the moaners should realise the this is NOT Nightwish and does not pretend to be! Also Marco is not with Nightwish any more because HE decided to leave and follow another path without Nightwish, which is obvious by the amount of gigs he had been doing since he left. I wish him all the best with his new adventure but for heavens sake just get over the fact that he's gone and probably won't be back!!
Nightwish WILL survive without him as the recent shows have proved!
Please remember that Nightwish is not just one person, they are a BAND!!

I am SO HAPPY to be part of this crowdfund and to finally see it really happening! I'm so grateful to have experienced this live while having the best view straight from the front row (I hope I didn't embarrass myself too much on these recordings.. ) together with so many other fans whom I've met on Discord & Facebook & here on RUclips.... It is a night I will never forget & thanks to these recordings I will relive this night many many years to come. Thank you for making this possible during these hectic covid times ♥

For the people who are not aware: This it from her solo shows that she did in The Netherlands. The audience is not only Nightwish fans. Many only heard of Floor trough the TV show Beste Zangers and are not necessarily metal fans. If you feel a song 'is not as heavy as it should be' then that's probably a deliberate choice. They are trying to somewhat cater to the average crowd with their versions.
That's a great explanation to be honest as initially I was disappointed that it wasn't a "heavy" version of the song BUT as you correctly say, the band and her performance were not meant to be Nightwish "copies" and she is catering for the less "metal friendly" audience with these shows.
As metal fans we should always be able to appreciate skills and a high quality performance. It's what we demands of "our" musicians, that's why we are proud of them and it's what we get here.

but it heartbreaking when she had to sing Markos parts
I really enjoy how different her performance is than when she does it with Nightwish. There's all kinds of subtle changes in phrasing, pronunciation, and placement that really make for a different listening experience.
I agree, she adds a lot of nuance in this version. Really showcases her diversity as a vocalist.
This version is also a tuned down from the original key, which gives it a little bit of distinct Floor magic.
The lower tone of this version of Ever Dream suits Floor REALLY well! Higher doesn't always mean better.
I don't know but the Waken version is the best version, i get goosebumps every time, that song on her voice is the one that showcases her hability to belt the best, and here it doesn't really come through, it sounds objetively good but when you compare it to the 2013 version it doesn't bring that same feeling of awe.
@@AsdrianSebastian She said on her RUclips channel Ever Dream was the "hardest" song for her to sing because the vocals throughout the song have such a high tone. Maybe this is her way of singing it in chillax mode XD.

Marko's voice is something amazing in this song. It feels so weird not hear him.. Don't get me wrong, Floor is brilliant any time she opens her mouth and sing.
This makes happy and still so sad. It makes me miss Marko so much, their voices together is something so special.
She is great but the contrast with Marco is what throws this song and so many others over the top

This is so wonderful!!! I loved this lighter take on the song that really lets you hear Floor's vocals soar, and opens Nightwish up to a whole new audience!
I actually liked the different approach of the song. It wasn't better, nor worse than before. Different. And I liked it. 10/10 will listen both of them from now on.

So nice to hear and see this pro shot. Kudos to all those who made it possible. It's interesting how the Marcel Fisser band makes "Ever Dream" a more approachable, mainstream song. This sort of treatment helps non-metal music fans appreciate the quality of Nightwish music and perhaps encourage them to dip their toes into metal waters.

Nightwish has turned plenty of non-metalheads hardcore fans of heavy music without dumbing down their songs. That's the real magic.

Ever Dream was always one of those songs, ever since it was released it made splashes in fan groups outside of metal. I remember even my big sister, who was deep in hip-hop at the time, really enjoyed the song. The composition is itself very approachable, without necessarily compromising on depth and complexity. Nemo and Deep Silent Complete are more great examples from around that era. ^^

The voice control of Floor Jansen is amazing. It's breathtaking how Floor can cover her vocal range while hitting every note with exactly the volume and modulation she wants to achieve. And, oh, the emotion behind all that, complimented by that fantastic stage presence. Impressive. Unique.

This is one of the best songs I have ever heard in a long time. The music is so fantastic and the words of the song are well written. I'm from Canada and it sounds, well very different to call you Floor. I guess in Holland, being a west germanic language, and the rest of Europe, the sound of names may sound very different to a North American. Floor, I love your music. Not only can you sing, but you are a beautiful-looking person.
The name Floor is short for Flora/Florentina/Florentia, which means Flower/From the City of Flowers (Florence).
it's a bit strange to hear (let alone to watch a live) of this song outside a NW live! But really, Floor has the power and magic to make it so nice even in a totaly different setting and style. She is very versatile and so capable in making this style/singing/performing transition! The absolute, amazing such transition was made on pinkpop2022, in just 3 hours! She's a great singer and the absolute performer!

Every time Floor sings "Ever dream" different. Wacken version was pretty iconic, like hurricane of two voices. But AFAS hits in other way: with soft tenderness BTW, Nice guitar solo

Very interesting! Floor has added some subtle reinterpretations to the voicing from what we are used to in the Wacken version. So far I think I like her current version better. Looking forward to hearing more takes from this concert!

Floor, I gotta say, as I very long time Nightwish fan I was a little apprehensive when I heard you came on. All I knew was this metal chick was going to be their new singer and their sound was so operatic in the beginning. But you have literally blown me away. You bring SO much to the band and the songs. You have an incredibly dynamic sound and range. Honestly I have never seen another singer as diverse as you. You have complete control over your voice and what you want it to sound like. You really take the music to another level.
This is one of my favorite NW songs and holds a very special place in my heart and life. It got me through a lot in my addiction. You made it your own and it’s phenomenal. The different styles you use on this track alone is Wow! I’ve never been able to sing this in my chest voice and you just belt those high notes out like it’s nothing! Thank you for sharing your talent with us and the world.
