- Floor Jansen, the singer of the band Nightwish, is considered the female singer with the most powerful voice, she has a great vocal range too (4 octaves vocal range, Eb2-F6 are the lowest and highest recorded notes in her concerts), but she could probabily get lower notes than a Eb2

Yes, she has incredible power in her voice but that means nothing without diction, control, pitch, colour, musicality and emotional connection all of which she has in abundance. Truly a wonderful artist!

I’m in my 5th decade. Wow 7th? Aretha, Ann Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland had an extraordinary voice and range, Karen Carpenter was about as perfect pitch as it gets, Annie Lennox, Pat Benatar range. Of course the obvious ones: Whitney, Celine, Mariah, Adele. This is legend status discussion.
Now I’m leaving out opera singers. You start throwing in Maria Callas, Leontyne Price, Renee Fleming, and Margaret Price and I’m gonna start arguing.
Sorry, Amy Lee. If it wasn’t for Floor, it would be Tarja as queen of current genre. I saw Maria Brink live and was blown away. So Amy is in the mixed but not in my metal top5.
They don’t call it a Floorgasm for nothing. You don’t replace Tarja… and Floor did it. Doro set the bar for female metal singers. It’s a genre that requires strength. The notes Jansen is hitting live most singers wouldn’t try with that much loud backing music. She can sing a soft elegant 6th octave note and she can belt one. I’ve never witnessed a more phenomenal singer and it’s not even close, imo.
The reason I admire Floor so much is because she never gave up. She survived the devastation of losing After Forever, pushed through the burnout and depression that followed, and then saved and healed Nightwish after going through their darkest time. She is a living miracle. A strong, survivor who we can all love and admire for her strength, beauty and musical skills. She is a Valkyrie goddess in every sense.

The first time I heard her voice, my jaw dropped. She has quite possibly the most sublime, beautiful, and awe-inspiring voice I've ever heard.

She is one of the best singers however the song "She is my sin" was made for Tarja

She song was dropped in tuning for Floor to be able to sing it every show.

I dislike fanatic fangirling highly.
But it's out of question that floor Jansen is a supremely gifted and skilled singer. She's got it all. Versatility, force, projection, diction, expression, performance, stamina, resilience, resonance, breath, support.
She's a great example of the human voice put to use in perfection and extreme control.
And certainly a singer like her is 1 In a billion. Outstanding, this human.
I met her once in 2010, in a very small venue in Germany, when she was supporting epica with the newly formed revamp. I got the setlist with her autograph and a picture. I always treasured it. And who would have thought how very suddenly she would become globally famous.
And still her pristine vocal efforts and vibrant performance gather more and more people who appreciate her outstanding skill. She's considered to be one of the best performing singers worldwide.

I could go on and on why I think that I am a qualified, non-biased critic of vocal performers, but none of that matters. What matters is this. We live in today's world. In this world today exists an absolutely amazing vocal songstress named Floor Jansen. I personally believe that is at least best all-around female vocalist alive today. She, may perhaps, be the best all-around female vocalist who ever liver lived. All I know is that I think she is incredible.

because sadly in large countries like mine (the US) we have no musical taste and think people like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Beyonce are the be all of music

floor is completely emotionless. One of the worst singers ( I heastitate to call it that) I've ever heard. So bland. So bad
What I love in Floor's voice is that she got a lot of technic, skills and all. She can do the classical (opera), the clean, the distorced, everything. She makes a mix of all, that was what saved Nightwish, in my opinion.

I have not found a vocalist who pulls me into a piece the way Floor does. Every time I hear this siren gifted to us all to enjoy I shrug off the goose bumps and even a tear or two. Humanity, so few are sent among us who have this level of ability. Just to close this entire band is loaded with endless talent. Enjoy world!

There is literally nothing that compares to Floor Jansen. She is the G.O.A.T.... I was blown away the first time I heard her in action.
The best female vocalist in metal or the heavier sounding rock genres with her versatility. Clean vocals, raspy vocals, growls, she does it all. everyone has their own opinion of who is the "best" singer of Nightwish. I never heard of the band until 5 or 6 months ago, so, of course, my 1st exposure to the band was with Floor as the singer. Fell in love with the versatility of her voice and her stage presence. Of course, after reading many comments, I had to go back in time and listen to Tarja and Anette (sp?). Tarja has an amazing voice, beautiful and clean, but seems (at least from what I've heard) pretty much one style. Anette, great studio singer, powerful, but a little "poppy"; not so great in concert. Floor, well, and this is MY opinion, seems to be what Nightwish should have now.

I am so honoured to have seen NW on the later half of the Imaginarium tour with Floor singing after Anette left. I was totally blown away, I hadn't heard of her before that gig and now I can't get enough of her.

People who are hugely talented, yet also have humility, generally have other areas of weakness. And/or they've been through some humbling experiences. What are her weaknesses? I don't know. They're probably not publicly visible, but they're there, you can bet on it. What humbling experiences has she had? Only she can say. Maybe her parents brought her up right, too.
Also, when they called her to fill in for Annette, she had pretty much been in an indefinite retirement, and hadn't been active for over a year. She said that when they called her, she had some initial doubts about whether she would be able to do it. So doing this was something she needed. And maybe that's where some of her humility came from.
Also, she knew what had happened to Tarja, and how Annette was received by the fans. And of course what maybe was about to happen to Annette. She didn't want that to happen to her too, so she had very good reasons to be uncertain of how she'd be received.
@@jimmyboy131 She had actually lost her band of 15 years (After Forever) and ended up with a severe burn-out where she didn't even want to go outside. So while she was a bit on the mend, saying yes or no to Nightwish really was a make or break moment for her. She said yes and 2 days later she had to perform. But I think it helped she was initially only asked to step in to ride out the tour. If she had been asked to just join she might have turned it down. Luckily fans were supportive of the change during the tail of the tour and how she was received in Argentina and Brazil should have taken away her concerns. Isn't "Our Decades In The Sun" written about her weaknesses? How she feels she is letting people down not being there, not having enough time for people etc. She certainly hasn't had some depressing life, but enough struggle to keep her humble at least.
Last summer on a Dutch tv -show Floor said that in early schooldays (6 years til 12 years old ) she was already much taller than her classmates , they were bullying her , the last schoolyear a teacher talked her into take the leading part in the school musical , she did and was happy as ever because for the first time she felt what she wanted to do in her future , singing and alsof verry important forr the first time she felt she belonged !
I don't know if one thing has to do with the order but I can Imagine that being bullyed can be of impact your'e whole life , mabey that's her weakness .

In 2005 i couldnt imagine that anybody could replace Tarja, but then in 2013 Floor appeared. There are no words i know, all words are just not enough to describe her. Floor is a diamond. Im not able to describe her in other words.

You can always tell when Floor is about to use her belted voice because both Marco and Emppu step away from her. Shes been measured as high as 120Db which is enough to rupture your eardrums.
Untrue the world record singer is 113.8db unless you are including the mic. In that case many concerts hit 120db with assistance of sound equipment.
I hope they have ear protection when on stage lol, they'd be deaf in 2 concerts if they didn't

This video is a remix of the best parts of Floor Jansen live performances, i made this tribute for two reasons, 1st, cause i love the music of any kind, 2nd, cause Floor Jansen won the poll of the most powerful female voices in the world; Of course the poll is based on famous singers, maybe there are other singers with more vocal power, i don't say that is impossible, however her performance shocked many vocal couch around the world, you can see video reactions; I could mention other names as Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston, but Floor Jansen still the best for the vocal power even cause is way harder to have this power when the music is more powerful

what rickedy poll is this, one comprised of her new POP audiences. Floor disappointed me going onto these hubs of mediocracy holding back her beautiful classical voice. imagine how shocked they would be if they heard her belt a few bars with her metallic timbre.. Tarja would not attend such farces.

In Wacken 2013 it was 83.000 to be exact but i am speaking in general.sometimes they might perform in close roof stadiums or arenas that hold 20.000 spectators.As an average it is 50.000 per performance if not more because they prefer open stadiums that gather well above 60.000 people.@Tony Montana

Today happens to be Floor's birthday, so I don't know if you knew that before uploading this, but if not - great fucking timing. And I love the performances you chose! Indeed, she is a force of nature. Easily one in a billion. There are not many who can pull off the versatility in vocal styles that she has, and she can do them all in one song no less. That's such a feat to manage from one instant to the next. Gosh, she's so bloody lovely.
YES, and we must say that all Nightwish songs are very difficult to sing, i heard some live concerts of other great singers as Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey, but they sings just a couple of songs that are difficult to sing, moreover when you sing with drums, bass, guitar, is way harder to prevail with the voice

@@LuciferMW3 the loudness of the background music for these singers is adjusted for each performance. Floor just sing with the full background sound of the band. I think singers such as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey could not sustain this.

this show was Floor's coming out party with Nightwish…. her first big festival show... and she KILLED it.... If Tuomas looks happy it's because of the relief... the realization he now had the voice and frontwoman his band has always deserved... Floor was born to be in Nightwish

I absolutely adore Floor, but I must say Tarja OWNS Nemo, and Annette OWNS Amaranth. Each vocalist brings their own style and they pretty much own whatever they record during their time with the best. Nightwish has been blessed with vocal talent. It doesn't hurt that Tarja, Anette, and Floor are beautiful women.
