@@gonzo-szczecin2952 honestly, I'm a giant Tarja fan and Floors performances are on her level. She has anamazing voice and energy on stage. It's really not about was Tarja replaced or not. With Floor they scored big and found the right singer for Nightwish and that's all that matters. Think of it as a devorce. You don't go around telling people they did not replace their first wife with second. They broke up and that's it.
I agree this song is way too short.
Keep rocking out and stay safe! As for me if I live to be 74 I will still be rocking out to this and hopefully other symphonic metal bands that come after.

there are a lot of great singers, but Floor is at the highest possible level, pure emotion,pure talent, and trained voice..i never heard anyone sings like that..in my opinion the greatest female vocale of metal/rock/pop you name it..
see my comment above. Floor Jansen is without any doubt, the best vocalist, man or woman, on earth. She is one of the 4 or 5 best of all time in history. She deserves all the accolades she gets because she is #1. I make it a point to say that to as many people as I can!

And it is an eternal shame and regret that we'll never hear a duet of the two.

This is one of the best songs Tuomas have written. This live version especially works like a nuclear bomb to your brain. it is so f******g awesome that human mind can't even comprehend what it just have heard. Proud to be Finnish, one of the best composers of all time.
I don't think that I've cried so much listening to a band..... the musicianship...and that voice ! Easily the best live band on this or any other planet.
Not to mention the musical frisson I (and I believe others) also experience while listening to the last part from 4:14 onwards...goosebumps all round....EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!

In all my life, I have never heard a vocal performance like Floor at Wacken 2013. And this song is one of the highlights of the show, especially from 3:45 on. She's unmatched

yes, that is a phenomenal version. I'm a longtime Nightwish fan and fan of Tarja as well. She is unparalleled, each version is stamped with their own unique energy and spirit. I can listen to both and feel moved in different ways. I love Tarja, she's a legend in the genre and that will never change.
That being said, I have never heard a vocal performance like Floor at Wacken 2013.
The whole band that night, the whole show, from start to finish, was unmatched. I think they were all feeling reenergized, they knew they were recording, and it was also the first Nightwish recording featuring Floor. They knew she was the perfect fit for the band and they all wanted to show it. I think a flame had been rekindled in every member of the band. But probably nobody more so than Floor on that night. She was on a mission, to deliver a performance for the ages, and she did not disappoint for a single moment. She is unmatched!
wacken 2013 was probably the concert of the decade. So much quality there, the ticket for that concert feel like it was basically free regardless the money paid for it.True historical event
@@HaraldAchitz Tarja sings the song in head voice whereas Floor sings it in chest voice. The last minute of the song is actually more comfortable to sing in head voice as it is so high. Floor could have used her head voice as well but she is friends with Tarja and doesn't want to create a rivalry (there is enough tension between the fanbases without any of the ladies encouraging it) so she tried to create her own sound and succeeded. All I can say is that what Floor is doing in the finale of Ever Dream - which is blasting multiple F#5 notes in a clean fashion using full chest voice for over a minute live is insanely hard. Pretty much all contemporary pop divas would start breaking apart halfway through. Mariah Carey in her 20s could do it but no one today.

Nightwish was, is and will always be the dream of Tuomas. But still, Marko was such a big part of it and will always be missed.
To quote 'enry 'iggins from Pygmalion, Marko knows he needs to "get up, don't be a fool and come home". So just do it already.
He was an incredible vocalist t hats for sure. He was huuge - especailly if they dont replace him with someone equal or better imo. Troy Donockly is doing the backing vocals now and hes prty good but hes no marko
@@DekkarJr Yeah Troy tries, but not even close. He doesn't have any power in his voice. The guitar player from Tarja's band does a pretty serviceable job singing some of Marco's parts during her shows, but no one can touch the original.

IDK why they would hire a new bass player without at least some singing ability. It's just essential to the band at this point - Troy is great tho on songs that dont have a lot of range and are in easy keys like sayyyyy

Not bashing the drummer or the current bass player at all - they were hired and are doing their jobs just fine. The drummer is quite excellent actually, but man Jukka was way cooler looking lol. Dude should use his new Nightwish level income for some hair plugs - also i hate that this is coming out of my mouth but the new bassist is pretty ugly too lmao. When you think of Scandanavian viking style men you think of the Brock Lesnars, the Marco Heitalas, the Alexander Skarsgaard's etc - not these guys lol. I dont want them gone or anything, im just saying. Presentation helps A LOT in music.
Speaking of income and ill end with this: I heard that Marco Heitala left the band because of idk i cant remember but it was like "the lack of upward mobility or oppurtunity in the industry" - idk - i didnt look into it and i probly should but at the time thats all i read - sooo wtf man - your a world famous rockstar and beloved by all that hear you... I mean i get it if he was just burnt out - it is EXHAUSTING playing a lot ( i played 3-5 nights a week sometimes in college/post college bands as a guitarist and I would have to ice my hand sometimes ( we covered some Dream Theater AND some Joe Satriani LOL - so long and technical intrumentals= -pain lool.

66 years old. Should it matter? No, yeah but. So glad I found Nightwish. Just blown away by everything - composition, the band's tightness, Floor's amazing vocals. I grew up with so many amazing bands and musicians in the 60s and 70s, found grunge in the 90s, and now mesmerised by Nightwish.
Jeannette Simpson same here, and Nightwish only since a couple of months. Should we worry ;-).
I'm 65 now and some weeks ago I stumbled across a reaction to Ghost Love Score, also from this fabulous concert in Wacken. Nightwish in Wacken must be one of the best live mixes I've heard so far. Everyone in this band is fantastic but Floor is a Valkyrie when she goes all in :) Love it.

The sound quality and image production of wacken 2013 lives is perfect... The timing, choice of lighting and expressions/poses makes the performance shine.
The drummer doesn't get enough credit, such a machine!

Two or three of these Nightwish songs and it helps me to forget my medical problems, and concentrate on how wonderful this group is. Floor's voice just fills my brain so nothing else matters.

My first reaction when I watched Nightwish at Wacken 2013 (about 6 months ago) was: "daaamn, I should 've been there!"
The second reaction: daaamn, why have I never heard of Nightwish before?"

i swear, marco's my all-time favourite male vocals EVER. I generally prefer female voices a little over male ones, but boy oh boy, Marco's voice is just one of a kind that just makes you crave for more and more, the type that sends shivers down your spine. Wish he'd get more lines.

This is an absolute epic performance of all members. Nothing is insignificant or just backing for the others. And I just have to say - the sound of Jukka at Wacken - AMAZING!!! But everyone else too.... THAT all together is just mindblowing.

Floor Jansen is simply incredible.
Floor stoled my heart and become one of my favorite singers of all time! Not only because her incredible voice, but I also LOVE her stage presence and her personality!
And many people still say that "Nightwish is over after Tarja...ZzZZZ..." Yeah, maybe some fans stopped listening to Nightwish after Tarja leave but A LOT of people are becoming a fan after Floor joined in the band. I hope she stays forever! She's absolutely amazing ♥
Floor is a great singer and Tarja was elite too... and I have been a Nightwish fan since the beginning, but having seen Anette and Floor live, I preferred Anette. It is too bad she was only with the band for 5 years.

@@pedjavukmirovic6770 We'll just have to disagree there. Floor isn't as good as Tarja or Anette, imho. I have more than a handful of friends that found Nightwish in 2007 - 2010 and even when Nightwish made the shift to Floor, they stayed fans... but most agree she isn't as good as the first two.
@@hietala2173 I am telling you as a person who understands the voice as a musical instrument. Floor is technically advanced in vocal styles. Tarja and Anette are not. This is an objective view of things. Floor has amazing voice control and timing. End of the story.
You might say you don't like her color of voice, but to deny her great technique is stupid.
I was a fan of After Forever and was very pleased when Floor joined Nightwish. She is amazing. And as much as I like Tarja, I think Floor blows everything away and is really at home in Nightwish. Anette was not that bad but I never dig her vocal in Nightwish.
I wrote this down on paper when I was in basic training and couldn't listen to music, this is by far the most consistent tear jerker for me.

This is our song (me and my wife). Seeing dislikes makes me wonder if the people who gave a dislike know something about music, being a music composer, about the effort Nightwish is doing just for us, to have a reminder, a memory, a better next day. They're not composing or doing this tremendous effort for themselves...but for all of us. Some people perhaps are just frustrated with their own existence. Thank you guys for all the amazing things you've done for us!!
Sadly, I suspect that the dislikes, which are comparatively low, are in large part, from the "Tarja is better than Floor" crowd. I love them both, and depending on my mood I could listen to either one. I just mostly prefer Floor. I do think this performance here is one of the greatest of all time, for sure.
If ever there was a NW anthem... This has to be a top contender.

Anyone else miss jukka on drums..... he just gets so into the songs.
Yes of course we miss him. I've been fan since 1998, and he was such a showman, very big part of their stage precence and energy, and he had such incredible groove. My favorite drummer ever.
But Kai is also brilliant. He is precise as a Swiss clock, and even faster than Jukka. And he is also very nice guy...so they probably got best substitute possible.

Jukka was "better" for Nightwish, Kai was better for Wintersun, Lars Ulrich is better for Metallica (yes, he is not very good drummer, but he still is). But from technical aspect and precision, Kai is definitely one of the best drummers out there.

@@gencoserpen1260 There has been some framerate hassle during process, and Bluray version is 4% slower than DVD.
I’m guessing the slowdown could have been the source being PAL. Concerting PAL to NTSC usually speeds things up a bit.

Marko literally sings couple lines with 3 words in it and it makes this song whole. Nightwish will not be the same ever sadly
