Outstanding Video!!! Replaced the fan assembly, the coolant sensor, new 50 fuse ( there was a 40 in there ) and the thermostat on my 03 Mustang GT all within the last week and the fan still was not turning on. I was ready to put a toggle switch and turn it on manually when needed. Then I came across your Great video. I watched at least ten different videos about toggle switches And only one person mentioned the ECM/ PCM and they still ran a bypass. It's amazing no one else ( at least that I saw ) ever replaced this in there videos. This was extremely easy. Thanks a lot you saved me time and possibly messing up something else electrical in my car, and having a silly toggle switch in the car. Thanks keep up the good work!
Before replacing your coolant temperature sensor, put a small piece of wire between the contacts of its plug to bypass it. If that doesn't turn your cooling fan on when you start the car, then the coolant temperature sensor is not your problem. I used this method to determine that I had a bad sensor about a year ago. More recently, my fan quit turning on, but when I used the jumper wire, the fan still didn't work, so I knew that the issue wasn't the sensor. I connected the fan directly to the battery, and it worked, so I knew that the fan wasn't the problem, either. I got an old CCRM at a salvage yard ($20, instead of $130 for a new one), and used the jumper wire so I could test it immediately rather than waiting for the engine to heat up. The fan turned on, meaning that the CCRM was the problem, and the "new" one worked. Hope this helps somebody.
I bought a one from O'Reilly's for $125, they also had one for around $75. But I wanted the best one. I do understand getting one from the junkyard if you don't have the money. You do take the risk of it going out soon though.
@@user-ru6mq5sc5n I paid $700 for my car, so I thought $130 would have been kind of a ridiculous expense. That said, if I hadn't found one at the salvage yard, I probably would've bought a new one.
So I just did this!! Grabbed an old speaker wire to the left temp sensor connector and fan worked!! So does that mean for sure that sensor is bad!? Car is a 97 Cobra, just rebuilt entire engine (bought it blown up) noticed it when idling was getting to the A in normal with no fan kicked on..
From what I have learnt is that although the diagnostic tool gives an error code pointing towards the CCRM, those CCRM's are robust and hardly ever fail. I have opened up mine and tested those 3 Bosch and 1 Omron relays. They all tested fine. There were no dry joints, but just to make sure I ran with new soldering over the points again. Still, the CCRM was not the problem.
I'm going through the same issues, and after replacing everything with brand new and NOPE, And just about to replace the CCRM and after your video I too wired it up with temp sensor control for under 20$ Thanks!!
Welcome back bro, you and I both bought our cobras around the same time lol. I remember making my channel then looked around and found you just made yours too. Keep it up!
Mines doing same thing, you have a broke wire somewhere, check to see if you have power in fuse box under hood it a 40amp fuse if you got fire there but no fire at the fan instead of chasing a broke wire run a new hot wire to the fans positive and see if you got fire to ccrm fan terminal if not run hot before ccrm but and now check and see if fan is hot now
I know this is a little old, but there are 2 coolant temp sensors, one on each side of the coolant crossover tube. One runs the dash gauge and the other informs the PCM about engine temp. If that one is bad, the fan won't come on.
The one on the right that works the gauge on the dashboard is called ENGINE TEMPERATURE SENSOR (it has a single wire connecting onto it), whereas the one on the left next to the thermostat is called the COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR with two wires connecting to its loom.
I have 03 3.8 mustang and my fan turns on as soon as I start the car? I don’t know what’s wrong ,I was told it only has 1 sensor and that is the cht ,I did replace the with new one but fan still comes on when engine is cold and my temp gauge doesn’t work? Do you know what could be the problem? Any information is appreciated thanks 🙏🏽
My 00 gt is havin the same problem. Changed the coolant sensor and it worked like a charm...for one day. About to swap the ccrm now so hopefully it works if not I'm hardwiring too.
There are actually two fuses to check : the 60Amp big fuse closest to the fender and the 10 Amp small fuse furthest away from the fender in the front row. On some models it is actually the small 20 Amp fuse about second / third furthest away from the fender.
@@mando074 I just replaced mine today. No need to remove the wheel, but you definitely need to jack up the car. If you do not have the proper tools you may have to remove it though.
I do believe the CCRM has the ac clutch/compression relay inside, so it could possibly fix it. but if i were you i would make sure its not somthing else before i buy it since it is like 120$
Check whether or not you receive voltage at your compressor when you turn on the switch at the dash. 12v = CCRM did its job & your compressor needs service/replacement. No voltage = you need to trace signal from your climate control unit to the CCRM and confirm where it fails.
My theft light is blinking fast and car won’t start put in a transceiver and a locksmith came and reprogrammed it and still won’t work. Could swapping this fix that issue ?

It’s the fan motor. The coolant and AC run on different speeds. Check the harness to the fan motor too. They tend to burn and warp.

If the computer doesnt get a temp it wont run correct it will run like its cold
Always check your connector going to the fan for loose or coronation on the pins!

Was the CCRM your issue ??
Ccrm ain’t the problem bro you have a burnt wire or a broke one somewhere, see if you got fire from fuse box if so run new hot wire from there to fans
Engine temp sensor?
Ever get this fixed?
Where did u buy it?
If you still having problems check the maxi fuses under hood in the fuse box
That's definitely the very first thing to check.
There are actually two fuses to check : the 60Amp big fuse closest to the fender and the 10 Amp small fuse furthest away from the fender in the front row. On some models it is actually the small 20 Amp fuse about second / third furthest away from the fender.
Did you get this G?
94-95 is right behind the coolant reservoir tank in the front of the engine for those who are confused.
I noticed my radiator fan stopped working & my ac stopped cooling, i figure that this is what i need the ccrm for my 2001 mustang v6.
Was that it???
change the fan first. its not that hard to change and its cheaper.
If you have to change the CCRM remove the wheel. Its much easier that way.

Some CCRM's are located at the water expansion bottle.

Nada si sirve también estas bien
Buy a tuner and you can adjust when your fans come on, tuners make a world of difference
Nice saleen speedline rims
Change the bcm

Just open the old CCRM and replace the damaged relay
