    In mopars after 95, you can turn the key on and off a couple of times and leave it on, it will tell you any DTCs on the digital odometer.
    Cool to know you can do something similar in fords. Wonder if GMs have something similar?

      tom I know what you mean my T5 has 245k miles on it so she screams anymore. I feel sorry for anyone that takes apart the interior of my car because all the rattles are muffled by duct tape, foam and anything and everything else that’ll fit in the little gaps of the panels

  • @R281
    @R281 6 лет назад +20

    You can also program the seat belt chime so it doesn't come on. I forgot the steps, but it should be in the owner's manual (no tools or programmers needed). This is for anyone who wishes to drive without their seal belts on for extended periods of time *at their own risk*.

    • @XanderMeisman
      @XanderMeisman  6 лет назад +2

      I never knew that! It's crazy how many little things you can do with these older Fords that a lot of people don't really think about. Mine is already set off so it doesn't go off and make that awful chime anymore.

      Healthy running voltage will always be higher than 12 v usually between 14 and 18 v

    Would be cool if some of those codes can provide info similar to OBD II

    This is irrelevant now that I have my tuner but that’s insane! Didn’t know it could do that!

    Just an fyi, this doesn't do cel datacodes. Only specific codes. Drivetrain data codes are strictly pulled from the obd reader, no other way, I've tried before, I had a cylinder misfire code, the dash wouldn't pull it, bought a scanner and boom pulled the code instantly.

    very cool. my speedometer is out on my 98 mustang; I'm gonna try this so I have a speedometer...did not want to buy the speedometer group...

      98 should have the analog gauges still without the digital odometer. If that’s how yours is set up it could just be a bad cable for the speedo and not the whole cluster. As long as the other gauges work anyways

      @@XanderMeisman mines at 206,312 right now. Only issue i have is when the car is first starting to accelerate to high way speeds (60-75mph), it jerks and bucks a couple times and then it stops and runs smooth til I shut the car off. If it hasn't been too long, when I get back on the highway it doesn't do it. But if its been like 4 hours, it will again for a second. Honestly still confused on what it would be.
