Is Super Mario 3D All Stars a Disappointment?

- Ok so a new collection of Mario games came out and we've been left with a pretty divisive reaction. Did Nintendo lazily paste these games together or is there more of merit here? Does anyone read these descriptions? Why do I bother writing them? I love you.

Even Nintendo outdid Mario 64 before, when they made Super Mario 64 DS. It's a shame we didn't get some kind of "Super Mario 64: Definitive Edition" to celebrate such a thorough re-release.

I avoided the collection because of how lazy it is and that its a limited release. It was on obvious money grab.
Great video! Just wanted to say that it is possible to play the PC Port of Mario 64 legally. It's just a pain in the ass to do. So the worst part is to get the rom legally. For that you have to dump it from the cartridge and only with your dumped rom file you can then recompile the game for the pc. Man your videos have so much potential. Keep up the good work and I hope you'll grow, because this is top content

@@Snugboy I just played Zelda Twilight Princess and I also talk all day about it and I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes it so much. I especially liked the story telling but still wished for more story in the game. Midna is by far the best companion and you could think this games story is more about midna than any other character. I really dug your point that the game makes you care for the people and the world in this game. I wish Nintendo would make a sequel so bad. Like with the same characters. I mean I know that's most likely not gonna happen but.. yeah I'm doing it again :D Talking a lot about it. I'm just full of excitement when it comes to this game. The soundtrack is sick and conveys so much more emotion than in other Zelda games. Also the dark tone fits the series so well. I just can't stop xD...anyways good luck with your channel I will continue to watch your videos. One more thing I wanted to say is that the quality of your videos will automatically increase with time so don't worry about it too much. It's already pretty good so yeah sorry for the long text :)

Also notable that the PC port had nothing to do with leaked source code. It was reverse engineered from the original game by hand by fans, and the PC port even predates the big leaks anyway.
The comedy was on point here, I was bursting out laughing at some of the jokes 😂 While the collection does seem slapped together, it's more about comfort and convenience imo. Just having everything there on a console and ready to go in a working status seems to be good enough for the casual player. This video was so great that I just might have to quit YT 😵 Keep up the good work man!

My recent playthrough of Mario 64 went the same way!! I was having so much fun until I got upstairs.
Dude your videos are getting so so so incredible! I am torn with this game. On one hand these are some of my favorite games of all time. Galaxy is in my top 3 easy. But on the other hand, the limited time release along with the lack of bonus content or upgrade is rather disappointing. But at the end of the day it's all kind of worth it to play on the go. That's the beauty of any game on the switch.

i spent $70 on this game on release, played it for like a week, and then dropped it altogether because i’ve already played all the games and i was bored with it. don’t even get me started on sunshine’s controls
Even the Ds did a better job with Mario 64 😭
My main problem with 3D All-Stars is just that it’s a limited release. If it was just a lazily put collection then I would have been fine with it, but the fact that it’s a limited release really bugs me

just for clarification, the recent ports of Mario 64 were done by reverse engineering the code of the game, not using any leaked source code. The decompiled version of the game was released prior to the gigaleak

This is way better than the re release of Mario All Stars for Wii in the 25th anniversary, I regret it so much for having bought it, it was literally the same game from the SNES.
It's probably just me but Bowser after hearing Jack Black voice Bowser well in Sunshine Bowser almost sounds like Jack Black from the Super Mario Bros movie lol. Now I love Super Mario Sunshine even more I didn't mind the voice acting.
I wonder if Galaxy 2 is being saved for a part 2 with the original 3D World and 3D Land

the pc port isn't leaked source code, it's a decompilation; that's legal. emulation isn't illegal either. it isn't illegal to do either, depends how you obtain the assets/textures, the ports themselves are not illegal

I agree with your points about Mario's movement in SM64. Despite the D-pad, I actually found the controls in SM64 DS to be better.
can you please do the same critique for odyssey. also an overrated piece of junk 🤣pointless power stars or shines or whatever they were called. trash levels with lackluster art direction and design. utterly lacking the creativity of galaxy in terms of puzzles and mechanics. the completely out of place humans in new donk city. the one trick pony t rex. the awful boss enemies. odyssey should have been an homage to mario's history with the classic levels reimagined to their full potential eg why did we get that awful forest level instead of what we all really wanted - a 3d forest of illusion, ghost houses, etc. the tank cap grab was abysmal. odyssey was all over the place and utterly overrated.
please do a take down of odyssey. you'd nail it dude! and it's about time.
