This is incredible!! But even more incredible is the part where you say "I used my step drill bit" and my kid shouts from the other room "I never knew my real drill bit" 😂🤦
I've done that very same mod to a 88' Ford Ranger I own. While that works if the truck is yours as a tech you can't always get away with drilling holes in the plastic fender wells. The way I was able to get them off was use a very thin wrench that fits at the top of the shock and a ratcheting wrench on the top nut. If the thin wrench wasn't able to hold the shock from turning then I used a very good set of locking pliers (vice grips) that had really sharp teeth that would bite into the rod of the shot and then turn the top nut. Most times the top of the shop would break off after a couple of hard pull and you can just pull the shock out. If there is a cover over the rod of the shock most times these can be cut away or squeezed enough in the middle of the shock with the locking pliers that you can keep the rod from turning. Here is a link to the style of thin wrench I was referring too. Metric Super Thin Wrench Set (9-Piece) tinyurl.com/y6qu7rot . If you don't want to use a ratcheting wrench you can you these ratchets with holes in them that are made for slipping over bolts and down onto nuts you can't normally get too. tinyurl.com/y6axadlp
That always smiling face buddy! Always love to see your next production and this was no exception. Looks like you have a V-8 in that beast! Don't know why but I thought you had the inline 6 in your truck. Thank you sir for your time and effort. Nice mod as usual. Got some groovy KYB's on my f-150s and I see you spare no expense on your old purple beast. Thanks buddy!
Patrick PhippsPA Thanks Patrick! 🤙 Yup! 5.0L and still going strong. Thanks! I’ve actually tried most shocks. I had KYB Gas A Just first and still have them in the rear. Then I swapped the front to Bilstein. I blew the driver’s side Bilstein (and cracked the frame) and replaced the front with Monroe. Since I hadn’t discovered the cracked frame, I blew the driver’s side Monroe. So I took the good Bilstein from the previous pair and put it in. Now I have a Bilstein on the driver’s side, a Monroe for the passenger side, and KYB’s in the rear. Lol Thanks again for watching Patrick! I always appreciate your comments!

Well, you're not wrong. ;)
Camas Lol Thanks Camas!🤙
Dude, cutting a hole in your car is not fixing it. There is a reason they have splash guards. Why not just do it properly?
No issues yet and I’ve driven through every major snow storm in Iowa!
What about a rubber grommet to pop in the hole to make it look official and seal it up. Summit carries them up to 2” wide
