    Cube World is a voxel-based action RPG with a focus on exploration. It takes place in a procedurally generated fantasy world made up of entirely of cubes. Wolfram von Funck (Wollay) began developing the game in June 2011, and was later joined by his wife Sarah von Funck (Pixxie). An early alpha version of the game was released on July 2, 2013. Cube World Update is happening now! Beta access is available to Alpha owners starting September 23 2019 and full game to be released on September 30th 2019

    I do not care about the exp, but the lack of a skilltree and that you can't just use your Hangglider or Boat everywhere annoys me

      Having travel items locked annoys me too because swimming to find a boat in an ocean region is just awful.

      @@Cody_Ramer i usually just buy a eagle trip from a town to a sea biome town to find the boat. it costs 100 gold but you earn that back again real quick. if the town you found was petrified and didnt have a boat just teleport to a spawnpoint near a village you have been too and try another village

      I read that if you use it enough it becomes a Legendary Item, and you become able to use anywhere you want...

      @@TheAdypoker There's been a lot of rumors like that going around. None have been confirmed at this point (unless I missed it, but I've been pretty active.)
      As of now, you can get '+' items, which can be used in adjacent zones (exact number not known) and there's been a lot of rumors of '++' but these haven't been confirmed at all.

    - Artifacts feel VERY underpowered.
    - Zone Locked Gear feels like forced replayability.
    - Boat/Glider should probably stay permanent due to the amount of Oceans. (Like an artifact of sorts)
    - I think zones should adapt to you, not knock you down to square one.
    It's still very fun to play, but I think we'll just have to see what happens at release.

    I miss the alpha. I would’ve been happy with the exact same game with added fast travel and dungeons.

    Kinda weird design choice. Part of what people really enjoyed about the Cube World alpha was the exploration element of the entire world.

      This enhances the exploration. The problem with the old system is that once you reached high enough level, there was no more risk in exploring which is half the fun of exploring.

      No the problem is that cube world alpha didn't tell you what to do... you could do what you wanted. It didn't feel like a chore, compared to he beta where you HAVE to get the glider EVERY single time if you want to use it, you HAVE to go to these places and kill these bosses to continue and go to the next place. I can't just explore and do what i want. This is so fucking sad. The alpha is just a better game

      @@Bluriness I agree the glider and boat should be permanent. Or at least have bonuses that are land locked instead of removing them altogether.

    The main problem is that you don't feel satisfied after killing mobs because there is no adequate reward for that. (1 gold after 1-3 min fighting) It is basically unnecessary activity and it becomes boredom and it is quite a problem in RPG game. Another problem is that the skill tree is missing. There is no way to influence the development of the character to your liking. I don't understand why loot is stuck to the biome.. this is just the worst for me to be honest. If there was still a randomly generated map and moving to the next location would increase the difficulty, it would be the best solution. All developmental mistakes and current hate could be avoided by Wollay if he communicated with the fans and introduced his plans to them. But he prefers to go into the hole for six years and create something most people don't appreciate. I have no words for that behaviour. I'm very disappointed because I really waited for those 6 years. I thought I'd get an improved alpha with lots of new content. Instead, I got a completely different game that I don't like.

      I understand the game isn't perfect, yet. Although keep in mind he's only one person, so it can be very difficult to create an entire game to everyone's liking (keep in mind it's not just about creating the world, but coming with the ideas aswell). Being focused on one thing can hide away some other things from that might've been obvious to add into the game. Like that skill tree you mentioned. And i gotta take Wollay's side on this and say he has been in quite a bit of contact with actual fans. Maybe haven't advertised alot, nor uploaded videos and keeping everyone in touch with what's happending. But he has kept contact with people sending him mails, send things from progress through there for alot of those 6 years. Also he has had his own fair share of things to deal with, game aside, he has gone through quite alot these pass years, doing so the game was either put on pause, or just slow progress due to the issues he had (won't go into detail about what happend, but there's made a documentary about it and cubeworld I recommend searching for, explains it in detail). Point being he has tried his best, but dealing with mental issues and being mostly alone on the projekt does make it completly hard to make a game perfect for everyone's liking.

      I think your definetly right, most of what was added is amazing, but the fluff isin't going to compensate for the fact that the core of the game was taken out and i only have one spell and can't get more out of my character.
      I'd like to get stronger in other ways than just spam the same attack and the only thing that changes is my damage output.
      I don't care that much about exp, i don't think it's that important, but no skill tree? That's when he lost me tbh.

      @Pepe Meme Don't lose all hope yet, in due time I'm almost certain a skill tree will be added to the game. Now that the game is out Wollay will be able to get alot more feedback, and ideas as to what to add. Just give him time and try not to be harsh about it. Patience is key my friend.

      @@Mango-ce8kp I understand and I know what he went through. However, no one forced him to do the game alone, and if he couldn't handle it, he could invite more people from the community. I don't take his personal problems as an excuse, everyone on this planet has some problems and has to continue working and living. Six years is a damn long time, some people have died, someone has lost their jobs or home and someone is sick. I'm not sorry for him. Life is a struggle. Rather, it seems to me that someone hurt his ego and he did not deal with it. It's nice that he mailed to someone, but you can see how it all turned out.

      @@mementomori3698 Well we can say you have the R and middle mouse spell so 2 but it's true that the skill tree is really something i'd like to see again or some kind of Diablo skill tree without leveling like you unlock skills and you can swap them. Swap the "Shift" spell, swap the right click spell, swap the left skill spell etc etc

    Correction:
    Artifacts boosts all of those non-combat stats. I had one for swimming speed and another one for diving skill. I assume it's for all of those stats.
    I would personally prefer the artifacts granting small amount of combat stats. Just so that you get incrementally stronger per region conquered. So when you travel to a new region, you start off a little bit stronger than base start. It makes Cube World sort of like a Rogue-lite and that there is a feeling of progression with each adventure.

      Yeah this is what I suggested in the discord. Plus I also want a cosmetic slot option like terraria with a collection book feature like trove, because some of the appeal is collecting awesome weapons like clouds buster sword or an executioners axe.
      But for now your stuck having to do a fresh start per kingdom and just using random shit that doesn’t look nice together.

      yes i was thinking the same thing if he were to add artifacts that increase our combat stats would be really fun one of the reasons i love rouge-lite games that feeling of starting over a bit stronger

    I wish BOTH were added. Imagine being able to level up normally and progress your base stats, but also be able to aquire artifacts to upgrade side stats as well. I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer Leveling > Item based progression. Doing both let's everyone be happy.

    While I can understand what Wollay was trying to achieve with this system. It feels extremely limiting and punishing. Exploring ocean biomes is going to be absolute pain because of the lack of a boat at the start.
    Its been a while since I played Alpha but I thought there were a lot more skills/abilities right? Now you're limited to your weapons(for different attacks) and your ult so all of which you can't level up making it feel more restrictive on progression.
    If Wollay wanted to make it so conquering zones was important he could've gone about it in a less punishing way. Half the beauty of RPGs is getting an item dropped that requires you to level up a couple times and then once you do you get a huge upgrade and it feels a lot more satisfying. Whereas from what you were saying it seems you only get Non-combat upgrades and gear that you can transfer over (but degrades after a number of zones).
    I just wonder what about the original leveling system that made wollay scrap it entirely. If he wanted to emphasize clearing zones he could've incorporated a level cap that only increases once you beat them.
    All in all I still look forward to playing and giving the game a fair go on the 30th. Just a bit hesitate and worried it might not be what I had hoped it would become

      your 1 skill is replaced by m3 while not moving, your 2 skill is left shift, your 3 is now 'R'. So same amount.

    I personally don't like that there is a lack of progression after conquering a biom you just start from scratch and it feels like everything i did only mattered little

      thats the point of + gear. the stats dont get nerfed whenever you leave the region if it's +. you can either craft them or find them, also that special crafting book is pretty good too. that's what lets you craft higher level gear.

    I don't like that you lose things like you hang glider when you go to a new area. I do like the idea of exploring for loot to get stronger in that area. But I don't like that you have to explore everything/ when you leave you start all over. I don't like that bassically once you "conquer" and area that there would be no point to he there anymore

      Chase H. I don’t think it’s a bug but I hope it is but I think it’s just a weird way of the game making you have to really grind ur way to taking over each biome instead of being over powered and wiping everything out instantly

      @@jacobkimmel6554 I'd be fine with 'restarting' every area if + items were easier to get, if you could find out what zone chunks have ??? to do to complete it so all your gear becomes +, and if your Gadgets, like Boat/Glider/etc. stayed for at least the entire province.

    The player should gain experience for everything they do: completing quests, making discoveries, defeating enemies, etc. I am very disappointed that Wollay chose to do this. Wollay should've simply made a new game rather than cannibalize the alpha to make an entirely different game. The alpha, while not having nearly as much to do, had this sense of freedom and an undeniable charm that the beta now lacks. I sincerely hope that Wollay ends up marrying the alpha with the beta rather than carving the art and animations out of the alpha only leaving the rest to rot away into obscurity.

      Clint True if he made a new one, say a dungeon delving rogue-lite where your gear resets every floor and you get to choose one that you want to keep then that would have been both unique and fun at the same time. Or, this one game that I played where you delve dungeons and if you choose to run back to your homeworld you only get to choose one items from your item list to bring back. Forgot the name of the game but its a fun one. Made me ‘complete’ sets by farming dungeon runs. Anyway, Im disappointed at the new system. Its anti-player actually. Who would waste their time playing when their progress literally resets on a new biome

      I'm sure in due time, Wollay will notice that the old Alpha charm is missing from the new version, and work hard to make sure it comes back into the game! We just need to give him the time and feedback to do so. Remember he's one man at the job only, it'll take time and alot of effort. So let's just hold a civil tounge, and try to help him along this journey of Cube-World with positive criticism. :)

      Mango I too, hope that way. But, seeing as to how he is prone to depression attacks/withdrawal, im afraid the negative feedbacks might just lead him to destroying his work and being depressed to the point of... well... im scared for both wollay and this game. Instead, what I hope for is for wollay to be strong, and face the criticisms and learn that this is only the start for him. It seems to me that he isnt that mature of enough to accept failure. I mean, imagine working 6 years for a game and then learning your creative direction was in the total opposite of those who played the alpha... this is what 6 years of no communication feels like

    I agree with you 100% that the quest system that rewards you for staying in the same region is a good addition and the permanent upgrades from the artifacts do make this even better, rewarding you for "clearing" a region instead of just running through everything.... The big problem with this however, is that the game LOCKS you into doing that, you literally cannot progress to other areas without losing all your power from your equipment and even worse, losing your boat and glider, forcing you to slowly walk to every area again and again.
    You simply cannot force your player into a single area for 6+ hours on an open world procedurally generated game, just try to imagine other games that are open world style like mineraft and skyrim, imagine if in these games you had to forcefully stay on the same are for hours until the game decides you can go to an adjacent land to resume exploration, it simply does not work like that and punishes the player for exploring. Forcing the player to do things in the order that the devs think is right feels unfair and unnatural, simply like that.
    What would be really cool is giving players ONLY REWARDS for exploring and completing an areas and keep making the farther areas scale progressively in power to give the player the challenge they need to retreat a little and explore previous areas more thoroughly in order to gain more power and eventually collecting their big reward, in this case being the artifact that also serves as a token of achievement as it means that you cleared an entire region 100%.
    That's the big point, giving rewards and letting them affect the game instead of imposing hard punishes that limit your freedom on a game that emphasizes so much on being a free open world where you can do anything you want. The removal of skill trees is also a big let down as you have less ways to customize your character and progression feels very unrewarding since your character always does the same things since the very start of the game and never changes. It's just a system that can work but will get old very quickly and once it does, people will no longer care about it and will abandon the game and never play again.
    These changes would require a complete overhaul of the progression system and it definitely won't ever come until day 30 so I guess we'll have to get used to this new system or give up on the game entirely....

      @@danielgrizzlus3950 infinite replayability. The game arcs been condensed into like 3-5 hours so im never bored. Play a region, level up with loot. Gather and kill. Run the dungeons. Region complete. Move to a new region and start the game again. To me its just like playing risk of rain 2 where you start ober on each run. May not be your cup of tea. But its definitely mine. Ive already played for like 50 hours.

    so if i get a full set of + gear does the game essentially end there? whats my motivation to conquer new zones? why would i want to keep getting back my boat and glider and do all that petty work? leveling up feels worthless compared to actual rpgs

    I think the system is flawed. It's unrewarding and tedious, making the game more grind intensive as a biproduct. Every new zone is a slog to progress through and it feels like an MMORPG where you have to finish a zone to have the slightest chance at the next, making the progression both restrictive and frustrating

      True that, though keep in mind the game isn't even fully out yet. When it is, I'm sure there'll be alot of helpful feedback for Wollay (the game dev) to read, think about, and use to improve the game accordingly to the feedback recieved. Game'll get alot better in time, we'll just need to give him the right feedback with the right amount of positivity/negativity (mainly positivity!). Just give him time to improve the game, patience is key folks!

      Mango He has had 6 years. He also seems to shut down when anything negative comes his way.
      Hopefully I’m wrong but this game is now stuck, you either choose to play the alpha and try to role play and make it interesting before becoming fed up with dungeon grinding and killing a boss for 20 minutes or you play the release for the amazing visual Ui updates and map changes while also losing all gear you collected and grinding mobility items over and over again.

      Personally, I think the problem isnt in the system (the process of how you level up) but in the levels themselves. They aren't satisfying, the whole region lock and each region being like a new beginning could be great if viewed from a new game+ sort of light, however that currently is not the case.
      I'm not sure how much leveling increases your stats if at all, but currently the benefit is so miniscule it may aswell be: Number of artifacts + 1.

      @Mr BuzzKill With an open world game like CubeWorld, levels become the bane of exploration real fucking fast. At only level 20 I could breeze through the game easy thus making any kind of exploration not worthwhile, I would just dick around, not actually explore. Of course the game FORCES you to explore, its an exploration game. You are not seeing the game right, each region is its own level, and of course its not POINTLESS to complete a level before moving on.
      Its a roguelike, exploration voxel game and I'm digging it. Sucks for you.

    I saw another video where someone was in a dungeon that crosses a regional barrier and they couldn't continue in that dungeon because they had lost all of their items.
    It just doesn't make sense, why region lock items?

      That's another main piece of feedback I see: Losing your key items in other zones. I wouldn't be opposed to hang glider and boat staying but things like Climbing items would be mostly useless in ocean biomes, for example

      @@NoobSniper the reason why I said this was because when I was playing with a friend, He got the climbing claws in an area without any mountains or anything to really climb. It was a flat landscape with a few small rocks and hills

    Great video thanks. I was sceptical at first but after playing for ~10 hours, I really like all the mechanics. One thing I think that could've been done much better is information. When I first jumped in I was just getting killed by every enemy with no idea what I'm meant to be doing, and I didn't really think it was that good of a game. But after reading some guides on reddit that inform and go into all the details and mechanics, I actually know what I'm doing now and it's shaping up to be one of my favourite games.

    I thing this change looks really weird for most people but for me i think it's good,Im a weird guy because i love grinding and reseting my game.

      It's not only a bad decision because it's too grindy, it's a bad decision because this is not the game that we bought. I bought this game years ago under the assumption that once it was finished, I would be playing that game. However, the way it's turned out is nothing like the alpha. It's like buying a loot box when you think you're buying a legendary item.

      i think halfing the gears power in next zone whould be a better option so you don't hit a brick wall every time you cross the border, i had a dungeon that crossed the borders, that was a real pain in the behind, currently lvl 6 ranger but all i've gotten is mobility bonuses and no power from lvls

      There are some easy fixes, maybe artifacts should be able to buff other stats as well, or you get small permanent buffs from completing lore in a zone/kingdom, these are easy solutions. But I have an idea that may be better, though there could be problems with this as well.
      Replace + items with equipment that increases in power for each artifact you have, but you need to activate the + gear for each location, if not it's underpowered like the current system underpowers your non-zone gear. In that way you have two options: go for the legendary gear, which is easier to get and is powerfull enough for your current zone. Or you can go for the + gear, which is rare and will require a lot of grinding to be better than legendary gear, but the replayability of the game will increase and the amount of loss you feel when your gear decreases in power for each new zone/kingdom will only be temporary and the challenge for each new zone is still there, albeit only temporary.

      Your character gets stats from artifacts, and you keep the artifacts permanently. You slowly get stronger the longer you play.

    I like to think of regions as regions in the pokemon tv show. Ash kicks the ass of EVERYTHING in a region. He has trouble at the start, gets better, gets gear from that region, but when he moves onto a new region, he gives up almost all his OP pokemon to have a challenge in the new region.

    I think the system fails when i find the epic book of crafting in a dungeon where the boss is a ranger that uses the fire missiles and one shots me with them lol (the dungeon is blue and i'm full purple gear)

    Region-Locked Gear And Artifact-Based Progression Should Be Totaly Reworked
    I really love this game and I spent a lot of time both online and in solo playing this game and exploring the world. And I was really excited that after so many years it has finally come to Steam (and not to Epic Games!) and got a release date. Wollay and Pixxie, you've great job: you didn't leave the game unfinished and continued the development throughout these long 6+ years, and you really greatly expanded it. And it's great on this state, except 2 things that completely destroy all the spirit and tone of the game:
    I. Region-Locked Gear. In alpha I travelled through tens of biomes from the starting point collecting gear and completing dungeons - the game really has a lot to explore, espectially now with new structures. But this thing just locks you to the region you are in and if you leave it you have to regrind all gear again. There is no sense and logic in having such a system except artificially expanding the playing time which is always bad.
    II. Artifact-Based Progression. Back in the day it was great to see how you were leveling up, getting new abilities and becoming stronger. Now all of this is gone. We just have artifacts which proceed us to new level with adding random increases to our stats. And now a lot is based on gear which is locked to the region, so such progression becomes even useless (and I dont think I have to tell you what useless progression in RPG game means).
    Summing up both of this "things" we get a long-awaited game with great visuals and soundtrack but idiotic and grindy gameplay. At some point it even felt like I was playing some ubisoft or EA game and somewhere in the menu was the button to unlock gear to the next region for real money. I repeat that everything eles is good or great except these two things, but, despite the number, they both make the core of the game, and if the core is weak quality of all else does nothing to the game.
    These two issues should be reworked and gone. You want to tell me that it will take a lot of time to develop new system? I will answer: there is no need to come up with brand new system - alpha progression and gear system was good if not great, you just need to develop it further like adding new classes and subclasses, expanding skill tree and introducing new passives, implementing new ways to find and craft armor and creating certain sets.
    In addition, there are another three things that I think (and probably not only I) were better in alpha than now:
    1) HUD with your character and other players in top-left corner instead of coins. Really it feels more... adventerous I would say with such HUD. You can also add special regime for big servers, like instead of showing all the players there you can gather a party and only its members will be shown there.
    2) Mist above the unvisited regions - it was more interesting in terms of exploration because you dont really know where you are gonna end up and what you are gonna find. For example, region may be obscured before you visit it but in city\village inside it you can buy a map of it.
    3) Characters separate from worlds - it is so great when you can explore the same world with a new character, use the same old one for playing on a server, or doing a kind of new game+ with creating new world and going through it with old character. Now they are restricted and it really erases these huge good point which was in alpha. You would say that there gonna be cheaters who boost their characters for multiplayer? Yes, but there will always be cheaters, if the cant boost their chars in solo they will just use trainers staright in multiplayer. You would say that this is gonna kill the progression with new character because you can just go to old world? Well, everyone decides for themselves, some will use old worlds but people who yearn for new experience will always be able to create brand new ones.
    I'm gonna repeat one more time: the game is great in terms of graphics, atmoshpere, music and exploration, you really did enormous job, but you took the wrong course with gear and progression and these should be fixed because they completely kill all the game's spirit and charm, making a neverending grinding circle of it.

    I played alpha and the amount of people complaining how the xp system is gone blows my mind. The alpha was so long ago, things were bound to change. I quite like the area progression now. Before, I used to be able to just steamroll new areas and it got boring quick. Now this game seems like it has more longevity to it, which is good because I love this game. So happy it is back again.

    The lack of xp is not the issue. The lack of any meaningful progression and the ability to simply wander and explore without being punished is the issue here. There is only one way to play the game and you get nothing for your efforts aside from swimming faster in the end.

    Thanks to you, now I understand everything about new leveling system, and when you get it I think it's really cool. This way you really farm quests and it force you to complete them rather than rushing toward new regions and juste beating low level mobs to get EXP. Artifacts are great because it stays through regions, I already imagine having a map with lots and lots of 100% completed regions with ours of play

    The main flaw with this new system is that it punishes player who explore to quickly. You leave your first region where you had legedary gear and all of the sudden your gear is worthless. One thing that is key to keeping players interested is not punishing them

    I would seriously change how mobs group together. Nothing feels more frustrating as a new player playing for the first time and leaving the life shrine to just get bodied by a purple enemy 20 ft away who is now continually aggro’d on you and chases after you immediately on respawn too.

    Btw later on with better gear you should use a legendary staff, the tornadoes end up being much more powerful, and in the early and mid game the bands are very powerful due to not have an attack charge up and really fast attack rate when getting to at least a 15 hit combo

    Friend of mine suggested that if he wants to keep the region lock type deal make it biome locked, so things like plains forests and stuff that similar can use the same armor, but a hotter biome like a desert needs desert specific gear, same goes for lava land, snow, etc

    For everyone complaining about the lack of skills, and skill trees, i wouldn't fret just yet. On the Picroma website if anyone remembers the planned stuffed that was greyed out it had deeper skill trees. So i'm fairly certain there will be skill trees on launch, or a bit later. Just my 2 cents

    I think that this change is a really good and interesting idea, but it definitely needs some tweaking. The concept of conquering biomes and becoming stronger in them as a result is a really cool idea, as it rewards players who spend larger amounts of time in some of their favorite areas, but the biome to biome progression is minimal. Once you enter a new biome, you're almost exactly back at square one with only a couple of small permanent boosts. You don't get that sense of truly having improved, and I think that's where the main issue comes into play. There need to be more considerable permanent upgrades from biome to biome so that the player actually feels like they've earned something. I don't think that the current system is a bad system per se, but it definitely needs a bit of refinement.

      A lot of people share your views on biome-to-biome progression (I do as well). Making gear essentially irrelevant if it's not +gear is something that should be re-evaluated. I would be okay with a 40-50% reduction of quality per biome away from its origin.

    In my opinion I love the new leveling system, how it forces you to explore so you can actually progress. Sure the fact that your gear is down graded whenever you go to new areas is annoying, but that's the challenge of Cube World, they're not going to let you farm OP gear in one area, and then steamroll the rest of the map with it. Im sure if Wollay took some suggestions he could improve it ten fold.

    i've played for like 7hs and still couldnt lvl up once, idk if its that i do not understand how its done or if it's just a bad system, i have already done every event in the zone except from the ones in which i need to kill really strong mobs that i cant defeat i just spend all my time going from one part of the map to another searching key items and that's it

    Sadly with the way cube world seems to be setup based on the beta it's now a vast ocean with the depth of a puddle! Forcing you to repeat the same actions forever without "direction or growth" which are the most important factors in making repeated actions enjoyable.

    Skills are all right, and artifact locking to separate regions is OK, just i hope he removes the boat and hang glider region lock because that's absolutely ridiculous imho. Otherwise, having loads of fun right now. I also hate how you're kind of forced to do quests now to get good loot because that seems real silly to me. I like doing my own thing y'know and this is kind of a let down. It is satisfying getting half decent gear though. This system is growing on me, I do wish he would change the region lock for hang gliders and equipment. That's all i ask.

    I really like the new system, it inspires me a lot for the rpg I'm working on.
    I like how it makes the world actually feel like an rpg, however I think the level number could be better in a different way. Say level also counts on gear that you can equip, instead of looting items that are for other classes.
    Artifacts could sort of "limit break" the max possible level of the character, which makes it so that it's necessary to be able to equip higher end gear, instead of being able to wear a red color gear as soon as you start the game.

    The perk that I see in this system is that if you get lucky and find a crazy good piece of gear you can equip it. The part I don't like is that there isn't a metric for a long grind so to speak like exp you could just grind out until you leveled up. So in short I think it will be good. However I wish there was more that carried with your character from zone to zone

    I like the new system. Now that I have a legendary in my first zone, I'm rolling over mobs and farming them in route to quests in the hopes to find + equipment. Already have half a set, so when I move to the next zone, I'll be starting at green/blue level. People just need to adjust to the changes and keep an open mind

    Okay, so after 6 years of waiting we get this? I feel like this is spit into the face of CW's fans. Not only did the developer add very few things, he actually managed to make the game WORSE by implementing a ridiculously stupid "region" system that forces you to start over whenever you move to a new part of the map. The video was great, thank You for explaining.

    in concept i like the idea of having to conquer more areas as if you were starting over, but the lack of progression is honestly rather annoying. also a skill tree is a MUST NEED for this. besides those gripes, i absolutely love cube world.

    I think this concept is pretty cool. But I also feel like the artifacts should allow you unlock permanent travel items, and maybe something with base stats so you feel more progress in the game

    I like this idea. Mobs still are essential to kill because of the gold. My understanding is you need a lot of gold for when you visit towns and traders. This game seems to inspire exploration over anything and I think that’s gonna be an awesome and fun way to play an rpg

    Just missed the period when cube world was purchasable, and i'm still waiting to be able to play the game.On that note, i really like the "level" system and just everything about it, in my opinion this is the best mmorpg or whatever it is considered to be.

    Here’s the issue. I get it, and I understand why it’s designed the way it is. Now I’m not a big fan of the artifacts giving these sub-par buffs, but that’s beside the point. The big issue is: what’s tying all this together? As far as I know, there’s no main storyline or multi-region progression. Once you get good gear and move on to the next region, you can just destroy everything anyway and farm for the next set of gear. You still steamroll! And there isn’t anything making it worthwhile to go beyond a couple regions because the content will recycle enough to get repetitive. I want to see grand quest implemented like Wollay originally promised
