Hmmm How do I get better gear though? Seems progression is ultra slow. Had hoped it would feel a bit like terraria with meaningful time spent killing monsters.

u can either do quests and get rewards from them, or do like i did, kite strong mobs(3*+) close to the npcs and they will kill it for you unless its a boss, repeat it until u get a strong wep, farm mons yourself until u get better gear

Xirpzy took me 4h for first leg and 5h, to get my first leg + gear, also talk to all the npcs u see

Xirpzy once u get a good +gear weapon u can explore the neighoring region quite easily, get a +gear weapon before exlploring the next region
