Cube World is a voxel-based action RPG with a focus on exploration. It takes place in a procedurally generated fantasy world made up of entirely of cubes. Wolfram von Funck (Wollay) began developing the game in June 2011, and was later joined by his wife Sarah von Funck (Pixxie). An early alpha version of the game was released on July 2, 2013. Cube World Update is happening now! Beta access is available to Alpha owners starting September 23 2019 and full game to be released on September 30th 2019

You can find towns by zooming in on the map and looking for them. Look for clusters of squares or rectangles, mostly blue.
Talk to everyone in towns, and friendlies out in the wild; they'll give you quests.
Ctrl + mouse wheel changes your FOV. F2 and F3 changes your HUD size.
You can change your spec by going to a town and looking for the crown icon on the minimap.
Click MMB to put a waypoint (star) on the map; click MMB on the star again to get rid of it.
I've been having a blast so far. Hope you do, too. :)

The different logs are secretly cathedrals. Some are fake, some are where *they* gather.
I used to use my account to let my bf play with me through lan on the alpha. You could log into multiple computers. but now he'll have to wait till the 30th.

To people wondering how you can get it if you don't know your email: find the PayPal transaction receipt and send it to pixxie.
There actually are towns but you have to zoom in more to find the group of brown little cubes on the map
I'm about to play. I've waited 6 long years for this hype train. I even have every previous pet and pet food written down.
Some of it has changed! There are new food items and horses dont even need a food item ;)
*Played this game well over 10 hours the first day, only thing I hate in this current version is the fact that your gear is zone locked. Once you step into another "map" or "zone", you will start your gearing from scratch again. Same goes with the items you collect (Glider, Boat, Flute etc.) and pets require now an item to be mounted, so far I've had no damn luck to finding one.*
I just found reins in my zone, looks to be another zone locked key item, got the quest for it by talking to the light dudes
Yeah everything is scattered around and it is very important to talk to npcs you see around, without speaking to them you will not obtain the locations of items and what not. I didn't think of that so I was wondering how the hell am I going to find these things. Now I know ^^
I am not hearing good things about this update. Seems to be things you wouldn't notice at first playing. Apart from the constant dying and no more skill tree.

@@silfursol it doesn't get truly resetted though.
It loses its power in different regions, but when you go back into the region where you got it from it is good again.
I don't like it myself but it isn't "horrendous" it is just something i have to get used to.
But if you're having fun that's what counts right?
Beta is soo boring and looks like worse version of alpha.. no exp, leveling, tree skills etc.. wtf ;_; i was waiting 6 years to get nothing ?
It's hard yeah, tedious at the start until you get the hang of it, that's were it gets fun

So far it's much more difficult then it used to be, which I both love and hate. it would definitely be more fun with friends. If I could just find a town, I would be set.
Zoom in closely and you'll see a smattering of brown "cubes" in a cluster. That's a town! :D

After awhile of playing I got super jumpy
no cap because float is your alternate attack mode. essential for playing a water mage healer.

Collecting Artifacts per zone/biome and legendary items with + rarity (allows their power to remain outside of their original zone)

DeepFriedPotatoes true collecting items to get stronger is a lot harder given mobs are obviously stronger than you to get decent loot outta them, exp would be cooool lol good game tho
@@NoobSniper yeah because getting an artifact that increases my light radius by atom is really worth it after 8 hours
i played the cube world alpha and i loved it and seeing it come back makes me so happy i cant wait for it to release on the 1st for me
When this game gets a full release, I think it would be extremely wise for them to port it over to Xbox one, PS4 and switch. This will skyrocket revenue, although I know it will be tough to port.
Might be tough to port with just a team of 2. I would love this on a Switch for sure
Ha that's never going to happen. They don't even support windows 7 which 36% of windows computers are currently running. So those of us in the 36% have to download some dll. That some guy on the internet made to make cube world work.

I tried playing multiplayer with a friend, and after we finally discovered how to get to eachother, we found out that for him I had extreme rubber band lag where everything I did happed a whole minute after I did them for him. Anyone else experienced this?

if you jump and levitate quickly after you can fly real high and then spam levitate key to float longer thats how i beat lots of purple mobs and bosses with out any gear >_
Area 51 raid, call go duty beta , cube word beta this was a good week
Change field of view by holding control and scrolling, also there’s 2 diff types of mobs, single Aggro and multi-Aggro(hitting one triggers crowd) and you need to focus on going for single Aggro enemies at the start. Mages and rangers have a HUGE range you have to abuse.
If you’re really have trouble with mobs you can climb a tree and cheese kills like that.
Always kite backwards as a long range character.

Absolutely astonishing game, would give more of an unknown adventure feel if you had to physically explore the map yourself rather than having it all given to you, just my opinion!
It used to be that way, but it was... Cumbersome to deal with. You didn't explore much of the map that was around you, and with the regions being so huge, it wasn't intuitive if you wanted to go somewhere in particular.
This ^ In Alpha, you would only uncover the parts of the map you traversed (and not the entire biome, just your narrow path of travel). Might you, biomes were nearly 3 times as large and 100x less things to do per zone. It's an improvement over alpha but I understand the unknown adventuring aspect too
so nice that you can use now the hanglader withou put xperience on it nice Wollay you da best xD
It's a little different/tricky compared to Alpha version but I am definitely glad you don't need to "spec" into it

I am not joking I have played for 1 hour so far and I haven't found a single town yet, everything is too strong and keeps killing me... I found a random boat out in the wild and went sailing it was alot of fun! XD
i notice as a warrior if you hit shift and use the spinning attack you dont lose health, it seems to have regenerative abilities.
You need to search the map for a town by zooming in and looking. Once you find it and go there, it'll update on the map. :)
Look for groups of squares or rectangles, most likely blue.

Every attack you do has a chance to activate berserk for a warrior, when you turn red, and it heals you every attack you do. So it makes sense to think that

Everything resets when you go into a new area. Making you farm again from zero.
That's not fun at all.
What do you expect going from pre alpha to basically a full release. Playing online as well if you were fully geared up it wouldn't be fair to have a head start.
This is the issue. Being geared to the teeth and jumping in a multiplayer session with a friend would devalue the entire progression of getting strong. The endgame grind is ++items whose powers can be used outside of the original biome.
@@NoobSniper Either way, if you are following the social outlets like Twitter, Reddit, and steam. The majority isn't happy with this. And it will show in the steam reviews.

NoobSniper i am fine with the weapons and armor being region locked. I do not agree with locking boats gliders and reigns which help with reducing the monotany of traveling.

@@NoobSniper Warrior is really good, it has a health steal thing which im not sure how it works yet, if u hold shift you do the spin and if u press middle mouse button while standing still you slam. by far my favorite class so far

Looks like they scrapped levels in favour of increasing power through rare loot that you find in things like dungeons

The fire mage has always had that. They have a chance to trigger their secondary instantly. Water mages didn't. They got faster attacks with each attack if I remember correctly. Didn't really enjoy the water mage much.
Ah. I exclusively used Water Mage, which is why it surprised me. Now I'm using the Wand with the laser beam of....fun 😈
They have the wizard/witch attack? That's cool.

Iam not really fan of Cube world but I did play it once years ago. Will there be npc companions that you can hire for boss fights or any kind of adventures?

@@gamermeh6812 I only tried to explain to him, that B stands for Backpack, in Terminology. so it's not a weird one like he mentioned in the video.
For the usage, it differs from person. People can always change the shortcut to suit their likings.
As for me, the shorcut B is fine, and am already used to it on Alpha version. at the very least, it's not someplace farther away from WASD keys e.g. "Slash /"
maybe one of the reason, wollay has it on "B" key, is that it is much closer to WASD than "I".
And that makes a lot of sense, ye. I've just been used to I from Minecraft since forever

how good does my PC have to be for me to have an enjoyable experience? (decent graphics, decent frames, ect.)
Check out the minimum specs through Steam and you'll be surprised that most PCs can play this game pretty handily.

How graphically intensive is this game?
Not very much tbh. Mostly CPU but can play on most PCs without too much issue. Might run into some map rendering issues but nothing horrible

Never played it myself but I like me some Cube World for sure
I actually like Trove, as far as mmorpgs are concerned I like it more than the others I've played, the art style speaks to me, and the lack of fan service makes me feel comfortable.
But I wouldn't go so far as to compare it to Cube World, they're very different games.
Plus Cube World came first.

isnt there any lvl in the beta ? and also where is the skill meny ? isnt it either in beta ? I also had problem with stars on map(waypoints) sometimes i can remove them but often not :P
The game is completely overhauled and reworked. Pressing F1 helps a bit with navigating your skills.
Goal seems to be conquering each biome, clearing it out, finding the artifact(s), and progressing to next biome! Haven't had an issue with star waypoints yet haha
How is yours unlocked? I have the closed beta but it still says to wait until the 23rd, any information would be helpful, thanks.

I kinda don’t like how you can see do much of the map straight off the bat. Kinda ruins some of the exploration, which was one of my favourite parts of the alpha.
I completely understand this. I think the trade-off is there are no large quest markers or town icons so the exploration falls unto the player

From what i heard, you don't level up in the traditional sense. You have to find artifacts to level from what I've heard. Experience is completely gone now
Not sure how i feel about it yet, but people are complaining about it and have barely played the game.

Question if anyone can answer: what are artifacts and how do they function in this version of the game?
Artifacts are collectible items that permanently enhance and level up your character! You need to complete quests, puzzles and clues to uncover the boss needed to defeat to acquire it (or whatever the stipulation is to acquire)

Yes, yes it can, i used a pc with 1 ram and no graphics card to run this back in 2013, you can run it with a 940mx

Where do you get artifacts to level up?
Complete quests within each zone and talk to a ton of NPCs to get clues and quests for them 👍🏻

How so? Feedback is always good to hear so the developers can tweak and improve their game

-Removing the XP system was a terrible design choice
-The enemy balance is awful
-The new hud looks unfinished and the size scaling of the individual assets isn't good
-Removing the ability to change specializations at the start may force players to play in a different style than they wanted
-There's no info on skills or their stats
-Gear and level reseting when traveling to new biomes discourages exploration
Look, I understand this is an indie game, but there was a winning formula in the alpha and 6 years to perfect that formula. Having to wait 6 years and then be given this for my patience was a slap to the face.

I can see how some of those can be frustrating (enemy balance, HUD, forced specialization) but hey, feedback is how things get changed and improved! Wollay and Pixxie have a great foundation to build upon, now we got to help tweak it to make it as great as possible! 👍

They're on the steam page, the same requirements as 6 years ago.
Except if you run Windows7 you wont be able to start the game on account of missing .dlls
