With P Zero Corsa tires (the same rubber on the GT3), I dare say it might beat the GT3 on a track. The performance metrics are quite close between the two cars. I just took delivery of my 2019 911 Carrera GTS PDK and had it built with rear wheel steering and PDCC. The cornering speeds are quite significant (for a lack of other words) );->.
Originally from Liverpool and driving a 911 (991.1 -Racing Yellow) in the Arizona desert for the last couple of years has been quite a dream come true. My friend here in AZ just ordered his 2022 Targa, where I had the honor of doing the spec on the car. I must say I’ve never driven a better car than a Porsche. The local dealer offered me $20k over what I paid them two years for this car. Naturally aspirated car and with a wonderful sound.

Great video. For garage space and cost I went for the 718 GTS on a 18 plate am love it to bits plus my dealer knew not to try and nick it back early. The GYS is the sweet spot and with Turbo wheels and Sapphire Metallic paintwork it looks the nits. Nice channel and should have more subscribers.

I appreciate your video here. I have a 2019 Targa 4 GTS in White. It's the only color for me, but color is a preference that everyone get's to choose. I think it's the best of the 15 various 911 Porsche's I have owned. I simply love it. it's just as good with a left hand steering wheel! Cheers!

I've had both NA and Turbo Targa 4 GTS - give me a 4S any day. I was lured into the hype of a GTS, but when I was leant a 4S while some warranty work was being done I found the 4S so much more useable/enjoyable - not as deafening, smoother ride and no wincing every time I saw a speed bump. 4S has more than enough power also. Targa - most beautiful 911 - no doubt!
Lovely car. For a long I was a bit "sniffy" about 911s but as I've gotten old and wiser I'm finally starting to see the light :) Loved hearing your thoughts. I very much hope that I'll own a Targa before I get too old to enjoy it !
Roger, great video. I think the best I have seen from you. The self deprecating humour works, more please. Very useful information on those centre locks. I have always thought that they are a bit pointless on a road car and you confirmed it. If I am ever in a position to order a GTS those and the alcantara interior would be option deletes. Why don’t you Daily it?

Roger Bailey the 911 Targa is all about showing off and being seen in and after that perf wise. The sound is tamed on this new turbo version . The only reason a N/A engine in a targa is to hear that beautiful induction noise and exhaust. Sadly thats not happening in the newer models. So i'll keep with previous Targa model: - best sounding engine - no turbo no probl -excitement everytime you fire that engine.

Hi. Thanks for such an interesting and informative vid. Especially useful about the wheels and tyres with all the bloody potholes all over the place its only a matter of time before you get a puncture. Would appreciate your thoughts and comments as to how much MORE the GTS gives over and above the C4S???.... Unlike Messrs Clarkson, Harris etc I am not remotely interested in power slide opposite lock exits out of corners. My "Toy" at the mo is a BMW M4 with Comp pack. And if you put it in Sports mode and turn all the gizmo,s off its virtually undrivable in damp, cold or wet conditions. 4 wheel drive would give quite some reassurance. Finally. Any long term issues with the roof mechanism?.... Porsche reliability is legendary but it doesn't half look like a complicated piece of kit. Cheers though. Thanks and I have subscribed. Regards Roger

The awd gives a lot of confidence in all conditions, I’m not into opposite lock driving either, the roof used a lot & no probs, the GTS will retain its value better than a C4S while the C4S is very slightly more refined, GTS feels slightly sharper than a C4S & makes a great daily driver GTS is my choice 👍 - best wishes - Roger

Namely. 1) What the car is like in the REAL World?... on the great British roads with potholes, traffic jams, rain and rubbish weather. 2) Nobody ever seems to review music, car entertainment systems.... if I am going to spend £100k plus I would expect a decent music system.... Ferrari audio and Lamborghini is awful.... Audi R8 and McLaren not half bad. 3) HEADLIGHTS..... !!!! Night time driving.? Porsche superb.... Ferrari poor at best . Lamborghini pretty good. 4) Service / Running costs. Fair to say the Porsche wins hands down on reliability and service costs 5) Here,s a strange one. Respectfully, I disagree on point 2, natural aspirated will always be rare, and desirable... Performance isn’t noticeably different in the larger scheme of things, or in the real world as you called it...
Absolutely! I came on to say exactly this. You can drive the .2 turbo daily but it will never match the sense of occasion of the naturally aspirated .1. There’s a reason the older NA now costs the same and in most cases more than the newer 991.2 GTS.
dealers will buy a sell on a car for 2 to 3k profit if its a fast turnaround, say buy then sell a few days later then they get servicing and customer coming back etc
I use the same OPC and have the coupe but I dont agree on point number 5. The OPC doesnt do damage every time they take the bolt off and neither do I. Just needs the right tools in my case a snap on torque multiplier. Agree for most that a puncture means a trip straight to OPC. Nice the Targa

Congrats on the 992 ! Chester Porsche do a great handover experience, The Targa is not noisy inside it's indistinguishable from the coupe, apart from the usual tyre noise, overall it's a relatively refined drive.
Good to watch this video! When the roof is closed, can we still enjoy the same music quality inside as other coupe models have without any possible wind noise created by the mechanical clearance of the Targa convertible mechanism? Thank you in advance.
Great video and awesome car! I’m thinking of getting one in the future. What is your experience with wind buffeting at highway speeds with the top down? Some reviewer’s seem to think it’s an issue, though I don’t know if they remember to deploy the visor above the front windshield or not.
Thanks, wind buffeting is less in this 991.2 that was in the 991.1 I think Porsche made an adjustment with the deflector, I drove many fast miles with this roof open and found no problem, in fact its a joy.
HawkMillFarm Cab slightly better in that respect but only by a fraction, put the windows up at that kind of speed and all will be ok. ps I only ever get to 70mph 😉
Hi, really great video and enjoyed watching the series on the 911. I’m looking at trading my panamera for a 911 gts but do you think it’s a good idea given the 992 is launched in 2 weeks? Of course a gts or targa won’t be our for 2-3 years, but can’t help but think is it a good time to buy a new old model?
Andrew Singh thank you. It's a good time to buy a 991.2 as dealers are open to lower offers November December. The 992 will be priced even higher when it arrives and likely no discounts.

I loved the 4:31 and the 6:04 sequences, when the roof top is mooving...a dream car ! I appreciate your video here. I have a 2019 Targa 4 GTS in White. It's the only color for me, but color is a preference that everyone get's to choose. I think it's the best of the 15 various 911 Porsche's I have owned. I simply love it. it's just as good with a left hand steering wheel! Cheers!

By far the most beautiful 911 ever made.
I've had both NA and Turbo Targa 4 GTS - give me a 4S any day. I was lured into the hype of a GTS, but when I was leant a 4S while some warranty work was being done I found the 4S so much more useable/enjoyable - not as deafening, smoother ride and no wincing every time I saw a speed bump. 4S has more than enough power also.
Targa - most beautiful 911 - no doubt!

Roger, great video. I think the best I have seen from you. The self deprecating humour works, more please. Very useful information on those centre locks. I have always thought that they are a bit pointless on a road car and you confirmed it. If I am ever in a position to order a GTS those and the alcantara interior would be option deletes. The sound is tamed on this new turbo version .
The only reason a N/A engine in a targa is to hear that beautiful induction noise and exhaust.
Sadly thats not happening in the newer models.
So i'll keep with previous Targa model:

Hi. Thanks for such an interesting and informative vid. Especially useful about the wheels and tyres with all the bloody potholes all over the place its only a matter of time before you get a puncture.
Would appreciate your thoughts and comments as to how much MORE the GTS gives over and above the C4S???....
Unlike Messrs Clarkson, Harris etc I am not remotely interested in power slide opposite lock exits out of corners.
My "Toy" at the mo is a BMW M4 with Comp pack. And if you put it in Sports mode and turn all the gizmo,s off its virtually undrivable in damp, cold or wet conditions.
4 wheel drive would give quite some reassurance.
Finally. Any long term issues with the roof mechanism?....
Porsche reliability is legendary but it doesn't half look like a complicated piece of kit.

The awd gives a lot of confidence in all conditions, I’m not into opposite lock driving either, the roof used a lot & no probs, the GTS will retain its value better than a C4S while the C4S is very slightly more refined, GTS feels slightly sharper than a C4S & makes a great daily driver GTS is my choice 👍 - best wishes - Roger

However NOBODY ever seems to review things which matter to me.
Namely.
1) What the car is like in the REAL World?... on the great British roads with potholes, traffic jams, rain and rubbish weather.
2) Nobody ever seems to review music, car entertainment systems.... if I am going to spend £100k plus I would expect a decent music system.... Ferrari audio and Lamborghini is awful.... Audi R8 and McLaren not half bad.
3) HEADLIGHTS..... !!!! Night time driving.?
Porsche superb.... Ferrari poor at best . Lamborghini pretty good.
4) Service / Running costs. Fair to say the Porsche wins hands down on reliability and service costs
5) Here,s a strange one. How easy it is for some undesirable to nick the damn thing ?
6) Deal breaker... if we cant get our collie dog in to share the fun then we aint playing.

Respectfully, I disagree on point 2, natural aspirated will always be rare, and desirable... Performance isn’t noticeably different in the larger scheme of things, or in the real world as you called it...
Absolutely! I came on to say exactly this. You can drive the .2 turbo daily but it will never match the sense of occasion of the naturally aspirated .1. There’s a reason the older NA now costs the same and in most cases more than the newer 991.2 GTS.
There is another mesmerizing top roof, the Honda delsol from the 90’ I believe . Take a look.

I use the same OPC and have the coupe but I dont agree on point number 5. The OPC doesnt do damage every time they take the bolt off and neither do I. Just needs the right tools in my case a snap on torque multiplier. Agree for most that a puncture means a trip straight to OPC. Nice the Targa

Congrats on the 992 ! Chester Porsche do a great handover experience, The Targa is not noisy inside it's indistinguishable from the coupe, apart from the usual tyre noise, overall it's a relatively refined drive.
Good to watch this video! When the roof is closed, can we still enjoy the same music quality inside as other coupe models have without any possible wind noise created by the mechanical clearance of the Targa convertible mechanism? Thank you in advance.

Great video and awesome car! I’m thinking of getting one in the future. What is your experience with wind buffeting at highway speeds with the top down? Some reviewer’s seem to think it’s an issue, though I don’t know if they remember to deploy the visor above the front windshield or not.
Thanks, wind buffeting is less in this 991.2 that was in the 991.1 I think Porsche made an adjustment with the deflector, I drove many fast miles with this roof open and found no problem, in fact its a joy.

HawkMillFarm Cab slightly better in that respect but only by a fraction, put the windows up at that kind of speed and all will be ok. ps I only ever get to 70mph 😉

Hi, really great video and enjoyed watching the series on the 911. I’m looking at trading my panamera for a 911 gts but do you think it’s a good idea given the 992 is launched in 2 weeks? Of course a gts or targa won’t be our for 2-3 years, but can’t help but think is it a good time to buy a new old model?
Andrew Singh thank you. It's a good time to buy a 991.2 as dealers are open to lower offers November December. The 992 will be priced even higher when it arrives and likely no discounts.
