Great video. Just a note. When you move a video located in your phone to the app. It will upload to the cloud, however a local copy is hidden in the app. After a while this storage inside the app will take multiple gbs, if not 100 gb of storage or more from your phone. So, once moved to the cloud, don't forget to remove it from the quik app. I wish you could just " move" to the cloud, instead of "copy" to the cloud.
I'm having this same issue! And I'm nervous to delete it from the app bc it seems there a few videos not appearing in the "Cloud" tab on my iphone.. but I see them on the desktop cloud version. If I'm going to use the Quik app to edit a video on my iPhone, I'm nervous the videos won't be there to download.. make sense? Any suggestions?
This is very true, once you move that content to the cloud, you can delete in from the Quick app to save storage, further more on Android, once deleted from the Quik app, that content goes into the trash bin as it's saved for 30 days! To delete it permanently, you need to search for trash on your phone and empty your trash for good! Hope that helps someone.

Very good video, as usual from your channel. I just want to mention something that I was affected by when I bought my new GoPro10, just a couple of weeks after the release in the member shop. I have had the subscription to GoPro Cloud a couple of years before. One of the reasons I made the purchase was that it included a one-year subscription to GoPro Cloud. But when I received the delivery, there was nothing about it. Since I come from Sweden, it was not easy to reach someone to contact. But when I finally did it and came up with a helpful guy, who announced that it's just for new subscribers. I pointed out that it does not say so anywhere in the shop. Hey Shaun! I was wondering if you could do a video on the quick app and how to save storage on your device? My GoPro Quik app is currently storing 47gb on my phone despite having the cloud package? Do you have any recommendations for that?
Hey thanks for the video. I have a unique situation - Please help !!!!‼I had taken a timelapse and it simply would not upload on my home wifi. (several attempts made - auto and manual) So i offloaded the SD card into my computer and uploaded it into the cloud. It uploaded, but all as individual photos... Great video!! Super informative to a new GoPro user here! Random question… once the photos and videos have been loaded onto the cloud and app is it safe to delete everything off the SD card?
Yes it is. Just remember that if you ever decide to cancel your GoPro cloud to download all your content first to your computer because it would be deleted
Great video, Shaun! I just started using Mural, and I think I might be doing something wrong. When I add a file to my Mural, I notice it downloads the file to "the app." This is going to quickly blow through my iPad storage. Is there a setting I can change? Or, if this is just the way it is, do you recommend deleting murals as I finish working through the footage? Thanks!
Thank you for this. But seems it takes forever to load to the cloud from the camera… I’ve had my camera connected for hours and it’s only downloaded 3 files.
Hi, thank You for the content. One question: The 360 degree videos from Gopro Fusion and MAX will be uploaded in full resolution (360 degree)? Can I upload from my iPhone and download in my iPad, for example?
Very good video. I have a lot of issues connecting to my GoPro Hero 10 (Wifi, sometimes works ok but often takes several attempts). Can I download directly from my SD card to my laptop and add the media to the Unlimited Cloud storage or will the media be considered non-GoPro media and go against my 25GB max in the cloud?
New owner here. Wondering if auto upload will work when connected to a fully charged Volta battery grip? Or do I need to disconnect the Volta, access the GoPro's USB-C port and plug it in to power? If the latter, would a computer USB3 port do? I think I have to disconnect the Volta and door to the Media mod, because it does not appear to be uploading at the moment.
Just for completeness, Uploading from browser and setting up auto upload is not supported in all regions across the world. In those regions, the only way to upload to the cloud is by importing it to your phone or tablet and adding it to mural. Example: In india, uploading from browser and auto upload is not available. Hence adding to mural is the ONLY way, which sucks!!
Thank you for the video Shaun. Here is where I am lost. I am trying to figure out how do I delete something off the gopro without deleting it off the app’s media. One thing I noticed is that while both app and cloud sections offers the same features, it is worded differently and may or may not produce the same results. For example, when I try to share something from the cloud, it offers to create a share link. When I try to share something from the app, it sends the video raw as is. This tells me that I would prefer to keep things in the app media section when editing and sharing. The only downside is every time you share from the app’s media, it automatically stores it in your phone (if you know how to stop this, please let me know.) Also, do you know if the cloud auto updates the edits? I would hate to edit something in the app’s media section, only to have it not update in the cloud.
How does one upload footage to the “Cloud” category instead of the “App” category? My Auto “Cloud” Upload from GoPro to Quik App is actually delivered to “App” and not “Cloud”.

The LRV files are a lower resolution version of the matching media in GoPros own format. The THM files are just now thumbnails. The Quik app supposedly uses these when you import the footage or preview it but there isn’t really a reason to keep them once you backup in your computer.

I’m having trouble uploading to the GoPro cloud off my Hero10 The process starts when charging but the files don’t seam to be saved in the cloud My iPhone storage is full so I can’t upload any GoPro footage to the app. Does that effect cloud uploading to the cloud? Does it try to upload into the app first? Not sure what to do
Unfortunately, the videos must be imported to the Quik app first before they can be uploaded to the cloud, leading to phone storage being filled up over time. Files cannot be directly uploaded from the camera to the cloud.
Good evening. I was gifted a GoPro11 a while ago but I didn't research how to use it and now I'm having problems. I have some v30 microSDs and some plain ones. I don't understand at all how to use the Quik App, how to cloud the material. Videos from the non-v30 card don't load at all (I didn't know it only needs v30). My phone is Redmi Note 9 and it keeps saying it doesn't support high quality video. In general I have been disappointed because I started using an item without the slightest knowledge and now I find it all a mountain and I am afraid that everything I took in two trips will be lost. Any help on how to get started, any advice, all welcome and appreciated. Thank you, Nick.
@@adarsh_hatwar If you set continuous file naming (I think its called) then yes. however I have had instances when I have had the same file name for two different files coming from different cameras or the camera was reset for some reason and started naming files from scratch again
I have three devices linked to my GoPro camera (hero 9). The problem I am having is no matter what I upload to the cloud, it only shows up on a Samsung galaxy phone, even though I am working with an iPhone 13. The Samsung is showing the camera I am using is a hero 7, but I have updated. I can’t find where to change the type of camera I am currently using. I have tried to get support from GoPro, but they never get back to me.
Thank you for your video, with interesting informations. However I have to add, that this whole GoPro subscription thing is a big disappointment to me. It's extremely unhandy to setup. The connections with the GoPro app are more like a game of chance and do not follow a comprehensible pattern. Uploading to the cloud works partially on my GoPro9 when I set up the wifi connection on the device itself (and not via the app). However, it only uploads some of the videos. On my GoPro10 it just doesn't work at all, as it claims there is no network in range. This is a big disappointment for me.
Connect ur gopro to the iPad mini using the USB C to lightning cable. Open the quik app and import media and add it to the mural. Or u can use an SD card reader, import files onto your iPad via the files app and then add it to mural to upload to the cloud. Hope this helps.
If you are using a GoPro at all, even slightly, I think this is a no-brainer. You can get some really good discounts on products and like you said you can upload pretty much anything to the cloud which is nice because Google keeps taking away their free data services more and more.
Not so fast. Searching for footage in this is a mess. Also the discount on products and mounts are only applicable in some regions of the world. So yea. It's not a fool proof solution.
I can't get my videos to the cloud. Even ones I've uploaded to the app won't move over to the cloud. Just shows a cloud with a flashing up arrow for weeks now.
I’ve found that when I download content to my device, the time stamp is incorrect. Very irritating if you‘ve filmed on your GoPro and iPhone, you’ll see see all of you videos out of order on the photos app
It sure does Not auto upload to cloud. Set it up, connected hero 10 to WiFi via the app auto upload set up. When I plug it in, it never automatically uploads.
@@adarsh_hatwar but does it have to be images and videos or can you upload files like images of drives etc. images in the second context meaning like a .dmg or zip file etc
I have tons of video in the GoPro cloud. When I get it on my Macbook Air, I can only get it compressed :( And if I try to download it off of gopro's website the date and time is set to today!! Only work around that I have found is using my iPad, exporting to Photos and then on my Macbook, export it as 4k.... pretty cumbersome !!! And does not work with slow-mo. I can not recommend using GoPro cloud if you care about your footage quality and metadata. If anyone knows an answer, please let me know. It is driving me crazy
my GoPro is not auto uploaded anymore. I reconfigured the auto upload section again and switched off my GoPro plugged it into my charger, and nothing happened. :( It is a GoPro Hero 10. I'm using a Samsung charger from my Samsung Galaxy S20.
Hello GoPro. After upgrading to the new Premium+ subscription a few days before the renewal of my GoProPlus subscription, you have deleded my camera discount and it is stated that I have to wait for renewal after 1 year to get it. Why do you treat your existing uninterrupted customers as new subscribers without the discounts? Also the new subscriptions are not an upgrade but a downgrade from unlimited gopro and non-gopro storage to unlimited gopro storage and limited non-gopro storage (25gb for premium and 500gb for premium+ subscriptions). Also the new GoProPlayer with hypersmooth pro stabilization (the former ReelSteady) works only in very particular conditions and settings of the camera, which needs to already have hypersmooth, so from hero 6 black onwards. Also, the previous subscription had 3 camera discounts per year, now only one, for which you have to wait one more year after upgrading. Please fix these issues. thanks!

I don't see see pro's alike use it now the way it is, they probably have just a big NAS or something alike.
I’m having trouble uploading to the GoPro cloud off my Hero10
The process starts when charging but the files don’t seam to be saved in the cloud
My iPhone storage is full so I can’t upload any GoPro footage to the app.
My GP does t show "loading files 1 of 8 on the screen. Am I doing something wrong? I set it up and think it's working but it's not
Good evening.
Can you put the screen to sleep while it's uploading to the cloud?
Is this insurance available worldwide and do they ship replacement units internationally?
How does the auto upload handle files if they happen to have the same file name?
Every file has a unique ID. So no two files will have the same name.
If I delete my memory card will footage be deleted from cloud?
After I upload to the cloud can I delete the videos from my gopro to free up space on my current disk?
Yes, that's the whole point of the cloud feature.
Same
I have iCloud via Apple, so it would be redundant to pay twice for iCloud and GoPro Cloud. This is a very good explanation, however. Thank you.
Indeed and thank you very much
How do I get my GoPro media from the GoPro Cloud to my Sandisk SSD using my iPad mini?
Is the cloud works in india
I’ve found that when I download content to my device, the time stamp is incorrect. Very irritating if you‘ve filmed on your GoPro and iPhone, you’ll see see all of you videos out of order on the photos app
It sure does Not auto upload to cloud. Set it up, connected hero 10 to WiFi via the app auto upload set up. When I plug it in, it never automatically uploads.
Check if auto upload feature is supported in your region.
First! 🤣
In a Hotel the Upload do not work, totally stupid system by GoPro
It’s a pain and neck to go to your home to make sure all the content records uploaded and I feel I wish GoPro can make it suitable for hotels
Why my go pro starts to do cloud upload but nothing ever uploads? Please help
same problem
but i think it’s that my files are too large. like a 10 minute video will be 4000 megabytes, and my 360 videos are just a huge amount of storage.
try editing the videos to make them take less storage, maybe trim them or split a video into several different videos.
Check if this is available in your region.
Does it have to be video footage and pictures to upload to cloud?
It can be anything - from videos shot on your gopro, DJI drone to photos captured on your DSLR, phone etc.
@@adarsh_hatwar but does it have to be images and videos or can you upload files like images of drives etc. images in the second context meaning like a .dmg or zip file etc
I have tons of video in the GoPro cloud. When I get it on my Macbook Air, I can only get it compressed :(
And if I try to download it off of gopro's website the date and time is set to today!!
How can I merge videos together without making it into a small edit I just want the full videos merged together
You will have to use some sort of editor
@@AirPhotography okay thanks and what do you think would be good setting for the GoPro for recording in night time and also for firework videos
My cloud on my app doesn’t show everything that shows from the browsers website, is that normal?
I do believe so I think we’re to see a pick up date for this fall when they launch the hero 11
What happens to your media if you decide to cancel subscription?
I’m not sure really but I’m assuming it would get deleted after a certain amount of time
@@AirPhotography ok thank you for the reply
Can you delete the content on the GoPro memory card and still have the videos recorded in the cloud?
Yes u can
my GoPro is not auto uploaded anymore.
Please fix these issues. thanks!
