    I was listening to this and my three-year old son said from the other room, "Please excuse my ignorance Father but do my ears deceive me or is that musical composition some sort of agglomerate of famous musical groups Muse and Metallica?" So nice job.

And they promote AI as if it were being trained to satisfy the rich developed tastes of artists and connoisseurs. As long as AI is controlled and developed by capitalists, it will always be lacking.

Every opportunity you got to add muse songwriting conventions you took, even if meant taking some liberties with the melody. And while I appreciate what both Muse and Metallica do to an extent, I like this a lot more than anything either of them have done individually haha.

      That would mostly just be because when a band covers something, they rarely change the notes or the chord progression.

    • @sepiarain
      @sepiarain 2 года назад +15

      @@twistedmime5264 indeed, that's what I meant when I said it meant taking some liberties with the melody. Andre actually enriches the song harmonically in places to make it more "muse-like", certainly in the verse and chorus, where Metallica just use 5th chords and keep it punchy bludgeoning - Andre voiced those chords differently and added that dirge and extra texture.

    • @esthersmith3056
      @esthersmith3056 2 года назад +1

      ehhh. my biggest criticism would easily be that he doesnt take enough liberty with the melody. the original song's vocals are pretty melodically boring, which is kind of okay there because it's quite a bit faster and noisier, and because hetfield's barking introduces timbral variation where another singer might prefer melodic variation. even with these mitigating factors, the original personally grates for me a little somewhere towards the end of both "verse sections"; here it's even more frustrating, despite the occasional falsetto leap.
      (and like. i dont think im hating, it's a serviceable cover with some interesting ideas, im going to send it to the muse/metallica fans i know.)
