A lot of this medieval stuff is coming around idk

I've ignored it for two years. I liked SOAD eight years ago, now I don't. But I wanted to know what some parts sounded like. The video be better than I expected.
The is literally perfect for The Witcher!!
I thought this was the result of quarantine but it’s two years old...

As a lover of period music and instruments, this was a beautiful rendition.
This sounds like it could have come straight out of The Witcher 3.

Playing this on my phone while playing witcher 3, its fucking amazing. The crescendo while horse racing is thee shiyit
This song (and much of SOAD's music0 uses traditional Amernian music as a template, just with a hearty dash of LA hardcore added on top
You should look up the artist that makes the witcher's music. They are actually a metal band too so your idea has gone full cycle XD. They also have metal covers of all their own songs from the witcher. The artist's name is Percival Schuttenbach
I heard System of a Down made a modern metal cover of this medieval song few years back

The fact that this souds so great as a medieval folk song is just a testimony to the timelessness of SOAD.
Shivers of the pure variety. I felt that in my bones shaking up the toxicity, a cleansing of the psyche

Toxicity is such a masterpiece, one of the best songs ever
I wonder how this song would have been received if it were played during medieval times.
Probably it would have been considered subversive. Look at how Mozart was received, pushing the limits and people were going wild
@@tortron Actually I don't know how Mozart was received but I will look into it.
I just know more about painting, Manet or Delacroix were considered as degenerates at their time, but well acclaimed today. Didn't know it could have been the same with classical music.
@@gixxerpwns I don't really think it could be considered the devil's music. Only diminished 5ths were considered diabolus in musica, if I recall my studies correctly...

This makes me wonder if there were any bards back in the day who just absolutely rocked the fuck out of a tavern somewhere every night, and word never really got out a far enough distance to be recorded in history.
It would also be awesome to go back in a time machine and play this in a tavern just to see people's reactions. I envision people buying a lot more drinks and moderately headbanging at their tables.
Now I want to hear a whole concert of this!
The people of that time weren't ready for the speed and complexity of todays music.

Considering that SOAD is very heavily inspired by medieval Armenian folk music, I don't think it's a stretch to think that similar music was being played at the time these instruments were popular.
