@@eonova There's something to that; humans tend to remember pleasant experiences better than negative ones if sufficient time has passed. That said, I think the reason we think back fondly on the "old" Internet is that it was a lot smaller and more honest back then. These days, sites are designed to serve ads. That's their primary purpose, regardless of what they present it as. The information or entertainment, aka the very thing you visit the site for, is at best a secondary concern, an afterthought. This leads to all sorts of vulgar tactics such as clickbait, outrage farming, focusing on sensationalism over information, ... It doesn't matter if it's to the detriment of the site's users; social media isn't concerned with your mental well-being. They don't care that they're making you miserable. English lyrics of the song Patakha Guddi: Yes, the sweet pan (betel leaf) adorns the streets, The thread of a Lahori, flaunting it, the fool dances joyfully, She dances with enthusiasm. O Lord, you are the caretaker, O lush forest dweller, You keep a watchful eye on every street, Maintaining its protection. Oh, think about the shame of people, why do you create trouble? Take the name of God, the name of Sai. Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, The name of God, the name of Sai, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, The honor of God, the grace of God, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. Ali, oh, Ali, oh, She goes, oh, she goes, Ali, Ali, your street, She went, Ali, Ali, Your street went away. Oh, Jugni (female traveler), Firecracker girl, In intoxication, she flies away, Oh, the beautiful streets, Firecracker girl, In intoxication, she flies away, Oh, the beautiful streets. O Lord, you are the caretaker, O lush forest dweller, You keep a watchful eye on every street, Maintaining its protection. Oh, think about the shame of people, why do you create trouble? Take the name of God, the name of Sai. Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, The name of God, the name of Sai, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. I have left the threads on you, I have left the threads on you, I have left the threads on you, I have left the threads on you, You are the pure child of God, the beloved one, You are the cherished one. What the Master has given, He will remove it. Take the name of Ali, And dance on the street with the name of Ali. Dance on the street with the name of Ali. Ali, oh Ali, oh Ali. Take the name of God, the name of Sai, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali, The name of God, the name of Sai, Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali. Jugni (female traveler) is like a pipal (peepal) tree, Everyone worships her, No one can grow her crop, No one can keep her at home. The path is narrow and painful, The leaves are like the rainwater. When the world draws near, The Jugni, being dirty, becomes apparent. Take the name of God, Ali, Ali, The village women go, The name of God, Ali, Ali, Every door, Ali. --- This translation tries to capture the essence of the original lyrics, which blend traditional and modern elements, emphasizing the free-spirited and vibrant nature of the song.
Sounds like a similar technique to "white voice" from eastern europe. Maybe you can do it too :) there are some tutorials. Bulgarian choirs are amazing example of sthis type of singing, the effort is never seen on the face, the pressure stays below the chest, they sing with an open throat, like when you call someone far away "Heey!".
It isn't so clean in the original video but it is still phenomenal. I think the guitars might disguise some of the noise and Antunes did some clever cleaning up of the original audio.
The blending of their vocals is unreal and they sing incredibly tightly together even down to the vibrato and melismas. This is live and it sounds like it's perfectly aligned with a DAW which it obviously isn't.

English lyrics of the song Patakha Guddi:
Yes, the sweet pan (betel leaf) adorns the streets,
The thread of a Lahori, flaunting it, the fool dances joyfully,
She dances with enthusiasm.
O Lord, you are the caretaker,
O lush forest dweller,
You keep a watchful eye on every street,
Maintaining its protection.
Oh, think about the shame of people, why do you create trouble?
Take the name of God, the name of Sai.
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali,
The name of God, the name of Sai,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali,
The honor of God, the grace of God,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali.
Ali, oh, Ali, oh,
She goes, oh, she goes,
Ali, Ali, your street,
She went, Ali, Ali,
Your street went away.
Oh, Jugni (female traveler),
Firecracker girl,
In intoxication, she flies away,
Oh, the beautiful streets,
Firecracker girl,
In intoxication, she flies away,
Oh, the beautiful streets.
O Lord, you are the caretaker,
O lush forest dweller,
You keep a watchful eye on every street,
Maintaining its protection.
Oh, think about the shame of people, why do you create trouble?
Take the name of God, the name of Sai.
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali,
The name of God, the name of Sai,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali.
I have left the threads on you,
I have left the threads on you,
I have left the threads on you,
I have left the threads on you,
You are the pure child of God, the beloved one,
You are the cherished one.
What the Master has given,
He will remove it.
Take the name of Ali,
And dance on the street with the name of Ali.
Dance on the street with the name of Ali.
Ali, oh Ali, oh Ali.
Take the name of God, the name of Sai,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali,
The name of God, the name of Sai,
Ali, Ali, Ali, Ali.
Jugni (female traveler) is like a pipal (peepal) tree,
Everyone worships her,
No one can grow her crop,
No one can keep her at home.
The path is narrow and painful,
The leaves are like the rainwater.
When the world draws near,
The Jugni, being dirty, becomes apparent.
Take the name of God, Ali, Ali,
The village women go,
The name of God, Ali, Ali,
Every door, Ali.

Nice!!!
its so crazy how relaxed their faces are and you can hear how powerful and clear their vocals are. They're basically perfect at singing lmao.
Because its singing what they do, not screaming.
@@xcruell i think you meant the opposite...
@@beatriceladouce965 no. They look relaxed because they actually sing. Sometimes loud, but there are people who can't sing but just scream/yell.
Indeed it's amazing
The fact they're singing on a news mic and not a studio mic and yet sound so good is proof how good they're with their vocals
It isn't so clean in the original video but it is still phenomenal. I think the guitars might disguise some of the noise and Antunes did some clever cleaning up of the original audio.
Not sure which mic this one is in particular but there’s an interview mic called the electro voice e635 and it’s my favorite for recording vocals
By that logic anyone singing into their phone has a god tier voice
The blending of their vocals is unreal and they sing incredibly tightly together even down to the vibrato and melismas. This is live and it sounds like it's perfectly aligned with a DAW which it obviously isn't.

This has been stuck in my head for 3 days, and I'm not kidding. I wake up and it's playing in my head, any time my brain is basically idling, this is playing. It all fits so well together, it's amazing. I've heard it so many times now that I can pick out certain syllables and entire phrases in this language that I have no experience with, and I love the little moments of semitones they hit, it fits the SOAD vibe so well
Go and listen to "Pataka Guddi"
Its so addictive....i watched this video at least 6 times already

You ever heard of Project Mishram? 😉
Lol what 3 days
this is probably my favorite video on the internet
The thing is, this is super convincing as a SOAD song. The inflections and style they are singing already match Serj's, so with the instrumentals, it literally sounds like one of their songs covered by ladies.
When a serendipity becomes destiny. Sounds so fucking good
I agree it’s a very eastern vibe of singing.
Serj Tankian the lead singers grandmother was from Punjabi descent. The connection to his roots heavily influenced his singing career
@@hornetIIkite3 interesting
I had to look it up to see if it wasn’t. Now I’m glad I’ve discovered the Nooran Sisters.
Most accurate system of a down style song BY FAR. This could've been a track on any of their albums, and it would've been SICK
check out moonic productions SOAD style. particularly for Milkshake, Toxic, and La Isla Bonita
I've listened to this about a dozen times since yesterday evening. I dig it. 🙂
It makes sense. Serj uses a bunch of Armenian microtonal stuff when he sings
@@42pyroboy The part of Greece I'm from plays very similar music to traditional Armenian and I would disagree with that statement. I think it's more about the beat and the way he wrote the guitar parts.

You clap on every swearing
and He protects you at every step.

These girls are Nooran Sisters. And the guitar riffs you put were really tasteful and pleasant to listen to. Nothing seemed out of place. What a wonderful piece of music you have put together.
And what an amazing singing! The girls were singing so casually yet so good.
Well I wish the Nooran would start a heavy metal carreer. Damn that was good!
Their smiles are also absolutley amazing. Much love from Scotland
Andre should call them and form a band together or atleast do a collab, they are awesome, and his music blends so well with their music.
Its two most distant branches of the indo-europeans art coming back together, perfectly
@@sminkycorp damn, bro🤯
I love the way siblings voices blend, when they really sing well together it's like a double track but way cooler.

@@nognog8864 No, not really. Daron and Serj have very different voices but sing in nice harmonies. He is not talking about harmony only, he is talking about very similar voice timbre

Both have amazing vocals ❤️
I don’t think I’ve ever read a comment section with such unity…well deserved too. This is undisputedly awesome.

this.
Same!
Exactly!
I can't stop watching this. When the ladies pick up the pace and you bust into the metal riffs is the best.
You should listen to the Patakha Guddi original from the Hindi movie Highway composed by A R Rahman. Rahman's instrumentation in the song is fantastic.
This may have been the best thing I've seen on RUclips in many many years. 5 repeat listens in, and ready to buy the album, the t-shirt and the 200 gram limited edition vinyl.

@@telanis9 that's right. Autotune can be used for pitch correction or to create the "autotune effect". It was definitely not used here for the latter, but we can't tell for sure that it wasn't used to actually correct pitch of some parts of the audio

Hands-down the best version of these Nooran sisters covers/mashups. Also: HUGE respect for the interviewer in respectfully letting them to their thing.

Something I just picked up on is the sister on the right has her phone in her hand, which implies that this interview, and therefore their singing, wasn't planned and just happened on the spot. That's hella impressive, given how in sync they are.

They sing so tightly together! When they go back and forth between whos the main voice like this it creates such a cool effect.
