Oh yeah! Looking forward to this one. Small request for you to consider: could you swap the positions of the ultimate guard logo and your camera? The mouse-over card images get their textboxes blocked in the current configuration.
Start of pack 3 and i'm getting giddy to see the games haha, feels like a throwback to the classic LSV grixis storm piles. Its been too long since i saw you old friend. 14:28 NOOOO tendrils whyyy, i was so excited.
at 45:00 you have Jayce on the bottom because of iteration you can time walk hoping for a land rather than getting Lutri, then if you get it you can fix mana with frantic search, demonic consultation get jayce, win before he gets the turn to cast timetwister. He'd likely cast hullbreacher in response to frantic search and get two tokens (and prevent you from digging deeper for lands) but you don't really need the cards to win if you draw a land next turn
Game 1 was just jawdropping sick. I did not see this line and i don't think i would have given time either. A jaw dropping nice play. Yeah, i just wouldn't have found this line. I thought it was lost. Playing these kinds of decks is hard.
I learn so much watching your play lines and overall patterns! Thanks for the content especially these drafts. R/W might be the most powerful deck but it can be boring AF, I tend to force this kind of deck when I cube. 🔥
i love how luis keeps claiming to have "gone down" on lutri or being "not the highest" but also keeps considering it/picking it as if it never left his top50. Keep ottering luis
In match 2 (obviously there was nothing you could have done) you didn't mention that because expressive put jace on the bottom, if you drew another blue (frantic search filtering a colour), you could consultation for jace and win. would have been sick.
This is funny to see a day after someone commenting about "combos not existing in the cube". Cool deck. Not one I'd enjoy playing, but lovely to watch!
44:53 why not frantic for a land? if you hit a blue source you can do time walk pass into demonic for jace which is the last card and then cast it and win
Interesting line. Has a ~32% chance to hit untapped blue in those two draws. Not sure if that's better than what LSV went for, because with 2 time walk turns you're much more likely to draw into that missing blue source and tapped blue also works. Would also get badly punished by the hullbreacher play that ended up happening.
@@DieEnteable i mean, you can try to find a land digging with frantic and if u dont find it you are still in the game for the double time walk one. It feels free to give it a shot in my opinion, you're only wasting the mana fix of frantic which isn't that useful in that spot imho
@@mbattagliola7070 Sure, that's also a reasonable line. Holding the frantic search is nice if you draw a tapped blue (of which there are 4 more in deck) within your next 2 or 3 draw steps, so you can play it, then frantic search to untap 2 blue lands so you can cast Jace. Pretty close either way.
Am I undervaluing the verge lands? Or did LSV just not remember the tamiyo? At 3:57 i though the breeding pool was clearly the pick until LSV said he's taking the verge. Tamiyo seemed quite likely to wheel imo.
I could see any combination of cards from that pack wheeling, Tamiyo coming back pick 12 did not seem like a safe bet to me. And he was already in grixis colors, so taking a BR land makes sense I think.
I played Gush in my last doomsday draft and it went into every doomsday pile and won me each round 3-0! (And I didn't even end up with any power, thassa's or breach.. basically, Doomsday is gooood)
Can be useful for Storm. It's like a super Ritual, pay 1 mana to get 4+. It's not very good though because if you don't win that turn you almost certainly lose
@@bobboberson8297 He says is as if it was spelled angcient. At least that's what I was referring to. Maybe it's a regional thing? I'm not a native speaker so I wouldn't know.
How can you win, when the card clearly states; "Draw seven cards. THEN if.....nocards, you win the game" so you never drew 7 cards and when you tried to draw the 2st card you lost. clearly an online bug.
Idk what exactly you are refering to but if I understand your question correctly, that's because the first line in jace's text says if drawing a card would lose you the game, you win instead. This is independent from his -8 ability. If jace gets removed during resolution, however, it gets interesting: His +1 would lose you the game if you had no more cards to draw. His -8, however, states that it draws 7 cards first "before" you win but you still win because of how state-based actions work (its complicated, you can read up on it if you really want to). This is not an online bug, if you have experienced otherwise in paper, whoever said you'd lose was wrong.

At 1:13:41 could you not beseech put salvager into play, get infinite mana with lions eye, then draw your whole deck with spellbomb and win with Jace?
yeah I think he didn't consider salvager lines, he was only looking at getting Jayce on board
last game as well. luv stumbles into the win with the topdeck instead of tutoring for it, would have been a win on turn 3.
@@UNinflacted no he doesn’t have white mana in the last game

Time walk as p1p1 2 days in a row? LSV using up all his pack luck in the first month of the year /s
good thing you put the /s
LSV cast Stern Scolding irl on the mox < demonic tutor pick

Please don't give WotC the idea of printing Companions with Partner.
Would wizards be crazy if they did make a card 6 mana take 2 turns after this one?
