Surprised Fatal Push didn't get a look in over Brawler. The deck didn't look short on good 1-2 mana plays, and the efficient interaction looked great considering the deck had 0 removal at the time.
It's fun to see a full power cube, but I'll be glad once it's gone again. I just find so many combo wins on both sides getting stale a bit faster than a more varied metagame.
Funny that in a recent video, one of your opponents commented on how he picked academy over gleemox because he just didn't see it in the pack before making his pick. Glad you dodged that trap.
The Comet “4 or 5” templating is weird. It doesn’t target, which I guess makes resolving the ability cleaner. It’s possible that they couldn’t fit “or planeswalker” in the text box.
You missed the line with comet where you roll 3 6'es and then generate 6 tokens to hit teferi i think you definitely should have done that with your comet :D
I tried to reply to you, but my comment doesn't seem to show up even though I didn't share a link. I can tell you that the Cube ID is PowerMack ; hopefully that helps.
Now that we know Comet can't kill tezzaret, do you go for the Dungeonner or maybe Bristly Bill keeping No More Lies up, since it's pretty much the only out against Vault?
I'm a li'l surprised goblin bombardment didn't get more consideration with a few token generators for the finish, not that it's a starter, but could picture a potential sideboard.against attrition opponent. But heckuva good looking deck.
50:57 "This draw was turn 2 uncounterable Teferi, turn 3 uncounterable Othari" - Well... it sure could have been, had you not selected colorless when you cast the latter ;)
Yes, but he wanted to destroy the petal, and Pest Infestation fizzles if it's the only target and gets sac'd. From Gatherer, "If any artifacts or enchantments were chosen as targets, and all of them are illegal targets as Pest Infestation tries to resolve, it won't resolve and none of its effects will happen. No Pests will be created."
Signed into youtube just to post the same, especially after he says comment section would be all over comet ruling, but given how much you (LSV) have played pest infestion, figured you knew it could just be make 2X pets, no need to blow up your own mox. Grats on the twins btw ^_^
@@thesether6008 I think he wanted to kill the Lotus Petal though, so he needed a second target so his opponent couldn't just sacrifice the Petal to fizzle the Pest Infestation.
Wow this deck was so sweet! Fun to see it go off a couple times. Do think match 2 was maybe winnable if you go for the delighted halfling instead of ignoble, though. Would have meant the remand doesn't work and they can't set up a turn prior with tezzeret even if they plus. Everything in your hand was just as castable with halfling and they both attack for 1. They were the same in terms of their ability to let you cast anything in your deck in combination with gleemox and temple garden. Of course, they might have had removal or bounce for dungeoneer and then you lose anyway, but it seemed worth noting as a decision point that would have drastically altered what your board would have looked like going into their Tezz turn. Dungeoneer + comet (which they also wouldn't have been able to remand with halfling in play) is such a fast clock that maybe you get there.
@@akamesama doh, yeah somehow I was thinking dungeoneer was a legendary. Although I will say there's a really good argument that turn for doing an uncounterable bristly bill into play a land and hold up no more lies instead. That still puts some pressure on while holding up a counter, and unless I'm derping again you can do both.
I don't like gleemox in the cube, it feels like a fake card (much more so than many of the other "fake cards" we've grown to accept). And if we are to ignore some card text and go for FULL power, why not throw in a real classic like Contract from Below?
@@AlexanderClamilton They apparently playtested a Crystal Mox which would have been precisely that back in Mirage in '96. I thought that was actually very good drafting: Passing two strong white cards potentially puts his teammate in a bad position where they take one and then get cut on white.
@@tashiwalde5782 but it is an option to kill neither artifact because pest infestation lets you choose up to x targets (although in this case he chose to kill both)

The fact that he initially missed it made it even worse lmao

The best era of cube in my humble opinion

Which team won the match after all?
LSV: "Any Gleemoxes? No..."
Everybody watching the video: "YES!"
LSV: "....Oh! Literally a Gleemox!" 😆
funny how easy it is to pin Mack on white, and cool to see LSV adapt to protect him.
Sneak attack, through the breach, Torsten/etali! Haha brutal, but the early picks make sense though.
I guess the 10th card was the odds break he needed in order to stop getting power 9 shafted in Vintage Cube.
