In this video, you will find the latest top 10 with the largest airlines in the world by fleet size. Having the biggest airline fleet in the world definitely tells a lot about the respective airline. Not only it means that the airline has a huge historical background, but it also means that it has overcome many of the huge obstacles the airline industry went through since airplanes started to fly.
This video aims to show the public and all the aviation enthusiasts the strongest and largest airlines in the world by exposing their current fleet. You will hear about Ryanair and Southwest Airlines, about United Airlines, Delta Airlines, and American Airlines as well as of China Eastern and China Southern Airlines and Air China. You don’t think I will give you the correct order of them all right 😉? To find out, you will need to watch the video! Go ahead and let me know what you think!
Enjoy watching!

Southwest. Ryanair has good prices but bad landings lol
I rarely see complaints or bad reviews about Southwest...they gotta be really goood in this case 👍🏼

I like that airline was good from panama to atlanta to detroit michigan
Hi captain
I am about to enrol into a flight school. Is it normal to be nervous? And have doubts about your training??
Willis Rich, my husband was a Navy pilot A-7, and F-18. Test pilot Patuxent River,MD, and Pensacola, FL where he got his wings.
The strategy used by Southwest and Ryan Air is very good. IndiGo airlines here in India also uses the same strategy:low cost model, using the same aircraft types which reduces training and maintenance costs and placing huge orders which helps you get discounts as well as enable you to continue cycle of getting new deliveries and at the same time replace the older aircrafts, keeping the fleet young. IndiGo follows the same model and they're the most successful airline in India with over a 50% marketshare in domestic sector and also good international expansion in Asia and Europe.
Straight to the point, you're totally right. This operating model is the most business friendly so far, and it will remain for a while in my opinion 👍🏼
Not Only Indigo but also Spice Jet and Go Air
Jai Hind 🇮🇳
@@RajahHindustani Gay Hind! No Endian airline in the list. haha!

From Jamaica, I enjoy this compilation of the Top 10 airlines, although I had known the top 4. I have flown the Top 2 but my flight ride is definitively Delta. I would love to be on their A359 aircraft. Informatively great video.
Interesting that the only European operator in the top ten, is Ryanair....
What's so bad about that
@@GoodAtGrindlng Is it bad?
USA is a big country. I guess the guy who lives in Florida doesn't want to drive 6 days to his uncle's in California. taking the plane is more a holidays thing here in europe
@@mr_exia Trains work in Europe. A one hour flight and three hour high speed train trip almost cancel each other out with the additional security for flights and check-in times at airports. Apparently, like here in Oz, trains are barely an option even compared to short haul flights in the US.
I agree, Lufthansa has 752 aircraft.
Great aviation video! Very informative! Just smashed the subscribed button👌🏼👍🏻
It was the first with delta airlines your videos are really amazing and interesting keep going thank you
Aussie here, who has flown American Airlines. Was my first B777 experience. Let me say, at 39000 feet in a 777... my drink barely rippled, and the engines were a distant rumble. Beautiful trans-Atlantic flight.
i am pleased to hear you enjyed your flight
Every airplane will be stable at that height.
I love flying with Ryanair and can’t wait to get back in the skies with them
How are you alive?
@Joshua McEntee it's not that bad tbh just the landings everything goes tits over arse
I remember the hard landings😂
@@princeplayz4148 because the lane didn't break with impact
They haven't had a fatal accident yet, considering their number 8 in the world, thats immensely impressive. People always moan about their landings, but boeings philosophy behind the 737 is a "firm touchdown" to avoid hydroplaning. Most airlines in Europe operate the a320 over the 737 and that thing has far more automatics than the Boeing, making it far easier to land. You don't pay much to fly for Ryanair but your as safe if not safer than any other airline in the sky.
Very well researched and presented...!!! Thanks for sharing..!!
Very nice video. I have travelled with United Airlines and is the best. Thanks for the informative video. Keep it up.
Sky west is by far the best airline in its segment. Great job, guys and gals!

American airlines is the best in world
Flown with Southwest, United, AA and Delta, I am really impressed with AA’s service. Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽!.
Thanks for this information 👍
Thanks for your interesting informations.
United has a special place for me SJO-EWR & SJO-IAH, greetings from Costa Rica
Crazy to think American Airlines fleet is the biggest even without their regional carriers! I work for AA and didn’t realize it was that big lol
They've held this record for some time. Even when I took a trip on their 777 for the first time, they were ranked the largest fleet in the world.
And that was over 13 years ago. Let that sink in...
Too bad they’re in Debt.
The reason the fleet is so big is because it's absorbed a lot of of other airlines and their fleets. America West, U.S. Airways, TWA, Reno Air, AirCal and a few others all now make up American Airlines. It's the same for Delta and United.
@@KairiPrime exactly and UA absorbed Pan Am, etc...
Every major airline in the USA will soon be in debt with fleet modernization. AA modernized their fleet before everyone hence why they are in debt. I'm sure they will get out of it.
From WC, Delta is #1 for me I don’t fly often, but when I do I can be sure that they will get me there on time and I have been treated very good!
Excellent sir
I feel sorry for Ryan’s air landing gear
Worked for American Airlines for 6 years and fueled United and Southwest planes as a Airplane Fueler for 5 years

Airplane fuelers are SO terribly underpaid here in Vancouver, its a shame.

@@Top10Aviation thanks
Very informative. Flown almost all the mentioned airlines except FedEx of course.
Very informative video. I've flown RyanAir (ugh...), Delta, United (not my fave), and American. I do like Delta but don't get to use them much, as I fly a lot of British Awys on American Air tickets.
Many of these Airlines have large fleets today, agreed. However, you could actually combine several of these carriers together - and you still would not match the global reach and far-flung destinations that Pan Am had during its operational peak... with just 226 aircraft in its fleet. Size, sometimes - does not matter. Pan Am, now that was indeed an impressive world-wide airline!!!
Sure, I think Pan Am deserves a video only for itself 👍🏼
The best 2 airlines that I have travelled on (with regard to service) were All Nippon Airways (International service) and KLM. The worst for service has to be American (they may be the biggest, but they appear to be always late) and British Airways (A few year ago on a flight to London Heathrow from Los Angeles, I had fallen asleep and did not realize my knee was sticking out in the Isle - my bad, I know; a Flight attendant accidentally crashed her service cart in to my knee. She did not apologize, she just ignored my scream in pain). I won’t be flying with British Airways anymore. The scariest flight/airline that I’ve ever been on was an internal air Malawi flight between cities of Lilongwe, and Blantyre, Malawi. Vintage 1950s Hawker Siddeley; The seats were old chrome legged kitchen chairs that had for seatbelts, panels were loose from the ceiling and sides and the technicians on the ground looked like folks that never even worked before, (had uniforms were torn jeans and teeshirts). The flight attendant stunk as well.
Thanks a lot for the detailed info about your experience! If only everyone could give such a detailed review hahah!
So looks like you didn't enjoy much your journeys with the American carriers, xhat about delta and United though?
Never tried ANA but I always hear good about it!
American airlines is the worse airline ever.
Delta is good, united is meh
Oh no air Malawi 😀
Facinating!
I love the way he explain
I would be interested to see an updated video/list of this after 2021 since many of these airlines are doing mass retirements of aircrafts. Some are retiring entire fleet types.
Will make one, no worries 👍🏼
Southwest airlines also briefly operated the 717. as they acquire them from airTran, and all 88 are actually still being leased to Delta Airlines
Really?! Delta has them? I have been wondering because I love the 717. I loved it when it was the MD 80 or 90 and I still love it as a 717! I guess I need to go back to Delta….Uggghhh
@@davidscmann7084 well not any more i think delta retired them

China southern, flown with them many times and they are very good. Flown with Ryan air once, first and last time.
What happened on your Ryanair flight that makes you tell this? 😄
Top 10 Aviation bad service, surly staff, cramped planes (leg room) airport that was difficult to access. Ridiculous prices for on board food that tasted like cardboard.

I have flown Air China, it was a really comfortable experience, ample leg room, nice vegan options and convenient connections.
I flew with Ryanair when they only had one or two planes, summer of 1986, from Waterford in Ireland to Luton in the UK. they were on the verge of collapse at this stage. O'leary sure turned thing around..
I'm really interested in knowing how was Ryanair back then? I mean from a passenger point of view?
@@Top10Aviation I don't remember much about it to be honest, other than it was uneventful, It was a old propeller type plane. the flight would have only take about a hour or so. the service was just drinks and snacks, I remember they used to give people sweets for free near landing time. I remember having a really bad head cold at the time, I couldn't hear for about a day afterwards. Waterford airport has been closed for a number of years now. nothing there apart from the rescue helicopter...I don't believe in "Ryanair Bashing" I think if it wasn't for them we would still be paying the big boys through the nose for flights. they started a revolution. competition is great for everybody concerned.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Yes competition is good, but until what point? When you see airlines selling tickets for 0,1€, you just want to scream...
I also flew with them around that time they ware not exactly trying to different just yet it was basicallyjust like air lingus or British Airways expect at that time but without the big brand felling if you get what I mean...But they changed the world (well at least Europe) for ordinary people like me to be able to fly more often when I Michael O'Leary took over . I still fly with them today and its super 👌 most of the people that complain about Ryanair are the sort of people that would have complain about something even if they ware giving a 1 st class ticket on the world's best airline they would be something wrong.
@@alcoyne3333333333333 how right you are my friend. they get a flight for a tenner and they want first class.

The most courteous flights I've been on is Mexicana. They give you a Wall Street journal when you take off and the service even in coach is outstanding way better than American airlines. The flights are always very smooth and no problem at all. I didn't apply them a lot flew mostly on American airlines cuz I covered the Southwest from San Antonio to Los Angeles, but really enjoyed flying on that airline service can't be beat. Maybe on some I haven't been on like some Asian airlines but other than that they are good. Aeromexico on the other hand has daredevils for pilots they're constantly moving the aircraft around up and down and right and left. You think they're trying to be daredevils. However I got there these are shorter flights like from Mexico City to Acapulco. But a lot different not quite a class and comfort of Mexicana
Yes I've traveled coincidentally with all the 3 in the first spots. And my bad experiences are horrible. These maybe the biggest ones but it'd be nice to see the best ones in terms of comfort in economy, good customer support, etc. Of those 3 Delta had a good place in my "heart" until recently, is a total disaster now with many delays and almost impossible to reach the customer support by phone
You can't please everyone. With the massive size of these 3 Airlines, there is always going to be chaos.
Actually the big 3 Chinese airlines are much bigger if their wholly-owned subsidiaries are included. Then again, all three a partially owned by the Chinese government.
You're totally right, but I decided not to include the subsidiaries in this top.
If I would've included them, the list would've been slightly different.

I've flown on all of the top 4. Southwest, Delta & United and actually worked for American Airlines. That was until they decided to drastically reduce their staff after 9/11. Can't say that I miss working for or flying on them, they are one of the rudest, anti-passenger minded airlines, only beaten out by United. Biggest doesn't always mean Best. I must say that of the top 4 Southwest wins hands down when it comes to customer/passenger service. Fly them on your Birthday and you'll see what exceptional customer/passenger service is.
What's your opinion of Continental Airlines (before the "merger" with United)? I was dead set against the merger. CO (under former CEO Gordon Bethune) was one of the best.

I try not to play favorites with airlines but AA is my favorite airline. The flight attendant on the 787-9 took off his wings and said to me, “here you go, you’re now a member of American Airlines flight crew.” He also gave me a 10 pack of junior wings that are normally handed out to little kids. I wore his wings on AA’s 777-300ER while siting in seat 1D which is the biggest, fastest, and highest plane I’ve flown on. When I fly, I fly on Southwest pretty much exclusively. On time, consistently great service, & good value for the money. If Southwest doesn't fly there, then you don't need to go there! Period.
What a boring and dreary opinion. Southwest is a budget airline with no flights to interesting destinations overseas. I don’t even feel like I’m flying and getting the true experience on Southwest. It’s more of a bus in the sky. Legacy carriers that service hundreds of destinations in the United States and around the world will always take precedence over Southwest in my opinion. I can’t imagine spending the rest of my life flying 737’s to the same old destinations all the time. You’re literally missing out on seeing the world if you exclusively fly Southwest. What a waste……….

I've flown Southwest and Delta. Delta isn't bad but Southwest is better. If they fly where I need to go I fly with them.
The best airlines I ever flew with was Mexicana, when we took off out of San Antonio to Mexico City they gave you a Wall Street journal and other newspapers available and the service was outstanding and the flight was outstanding. I mostly flew on the Continental to the West Coast American out of Dallas and Southwest but when I flew on Southwest they had the 737s where you sent backwards in a lot of the seats I didn't like that seemed like a cargo plane. I was in the Air Force reserve 6 years flew on all kinds of cargo planes. Back then mostly prop like the 127 and that type of aircraft. Used to fly on Brandon on their prop Jets. That was interesting kind of rough flying. Mexicana is still the best for me. Unbelievable service way better than American airlines not the company just US airlines. Same thing with the service at the top restaurants in Mexico much better than anything in the US servers are dressed and peckably, and have the stuff to you immediately and they basically don't talk they just serve. And you get your stuff immediately not like the US not even a comparison
They gave you a newspaper.....whoo hoo !

The 2 airlines Im Extremely Shocked didnt appear was BA and Emirates!
Emirates - 266 planes.
BA - 254 planes.
So far away to make to this top 🙂
@@Top10Aviation Wow Im Really Shocked at that I expected BA to have about 500 and Emirates about 600 And considering these are 2 of the best rated airlines in the world its really surprising
What about Lufthansa?
Lufthansa has 'only' 266 aircraft.
People usually mistaken Lufthansa with the Lufthansa Group which contains 11 airlines with a total of 705 aircraft 🙂
They have near zero domestic markets
I flew with American Airline in the Airbus A320. Nice plane
Top 10 smallest plz
Indigo is going to take the lead as aftr new orders their fleet is going to be 903.
I think so as well!
